Bellew is like an annoying itch you can't get rid of.
Used to like him, but he's everywhere. Dining out on beating a one-legged man. SMDH
-
Re: Bellew is like an annoying itch you can't get rid of.
Never liked him and Wilder should have knocked him out for even having the cheek to thing he should be in the same ring with him.
-
Re: Bellew is like an annoying itch you can't get rid of.
I agree big fella. He is starting to get right on my fucking tits lol. When I click into youtube his face is in every fucking vid too
-
Re: Bellew is like an annoying itch you can't get rid of.
I think him and Wilder is a good fight. He's so undersized and outgunned its basically comical, but thats basically the same breakdown people had for Haye. My hunch is that this time the breakdown would come true, but then again Wilder doesn't really know how to box, so it's somewhat interesting.

I cannot fucking stand him , and what he is an example, that is an overrated (by people who know fuck all about sport, but believe everything the media tell them) overhyped, untalented , overpaid Sportsman. There, I fucking said it!
No doubt we're gonna have the old "he could die in there, he deserves every penny he gets" comments, and to that I say Bollocks! There are way better and braver Boxers than him, that earn nowhere near what he does.
If I told my grandkids in 10 or 20years
time about a guy who had a ppv fight against Cleverley, had a stadium fight in his team's stadium and won a world title, beat Haye in a massive ppv, and then possibly went on to fight Deontay Wilder or a World HW title, and to cap it all was in a Rocky Film, they would think he was some kind of fucking superstar ATG!
How could I convince them that he was pony?
I have to give him credit for being the most blessed, luckiest fighter to have ever walked this earth.

This seems as bit excessive. I don't care for him personally either, but the fact is he is on a bit of a tear and has proven himself somewhat of a natural fighter. Of course he could get starched at HW against a Wilder type guy, the size difference is staggering. I'd still give him a chance against some of the smaller HW's by way of actually having some instincts, just me.

Disagree, if anything I thing Primo was somewhat reserved in his post compared to what Bellew deserves.
It wouldn't be so bad if he accepted that the injury played a huge part in the outcome of his fight but he doesn't even acknowledge it.
Having said that not many fighters would.
Bellew is still a prick of the highest order.

I don't think it's excessive. Should the Cleverley fight have been ppv? NO!
He is a CW, what has he done to enhance his status as a top CW? Fuck all! I bet there are between 5 and 10 CW's out there that could beat him.
So he beat a one legged Haye as a HW, name me any top 20 HW that wouldn't finish Haye off in those circumstances?
Is he a top 10 HW ? NO!
so why is it excessive?
Hey, good luck to him , earning these sort of plaudits and financial gain for someone of his ability, but there are probably over 100 fighters in the World that are better than him and earn less, what about them?
He earnt more in his last fight than Ward and Kovalev for fighting each other, now tell me it's excessive?

Id say he is somewhere between 5-10, although I do agree with you there are a few cruiserweights who could beat him, the win over Makabu has to carry something. It's hard to say where he's at as Haye was injured and didn't look like his former self in general, but it's still a win. I don't care to drag this out as you could be right, but he's obviously capable of beating guys who hold visible advantages over him, that's all.
-
Don't get me wrong, my problem isn't specifically with him. He's making as much money as he can with limited skills. Fair play to him, and they all talk shit, so that doesn't bother me.
My problem is with those who buy into him and fund that, THE GENERAL PUBLIC!!! Bunch of fucking mugs who believe everything they hear rather than see it with their own eyes.
And I have never liked an imbalance between Skill to Financial gain. The best should earn the most and so on.
The minute that stops happening, sport turns into pantomime.
I know it's a bit idealistic, but hey ho.

Just trust us on this one. Bellew is so far out of his depth in the heavyweight division that he is even contemplating fighting anyone other than Haye is just comical. Unless Wilder gets injured he would wipe away Bellew in a round.

Thing is tho, which one of them had a bigger name on their record?
I think bellew is generally under rated by most
I also think he's mr right place at the right time tho

I would say that they all had bigger names than Bellew at heavyweight.
Beating Haye at heavyweight means nothing, he beat a cumbersome giant, got utterly embarrassed by Klit, fought a youtube boxer and fought some geeza who's name was something along the lines of gzobikamislanikrankovicanov.
Media aside Haye has been an embarrassment of a heavyweight and other than the name he is no name at all

1st sentence- this bigger name bollocks is horseshit. Haye proved even before his Achilles went against Bellew in the first few rounds that he is finished. He was shite and he was still beating Bellew.
2nd sentence - underrated? Are you fucking serious? He is the biggest self proclaimed hype job in Boxing.
3rd sentence - agree 100%. All about timing.

Re: Bellew is like an annoying itch you can't get rid of.
There's no difference between Bellew overrating himself and you bods that hate him underrating him. Just because he's a delusional big mouth it doesn't take away from his achievements.
And he's right about Wilder, Haye would be the best name on his record, therefore he has every right to claim he's beat a better name than him.

His achievements aint shit!

Re: Bellew is like an annoying itch you can't get rid of.
That depends on who you're comparing him with.
He's won the British, Commonwealth, European and "world" title. He's beat a bunch of independently world rated top 10 fighters, won three rematches and pulled off a bunch of upsets.
He's achieved more than many a better fighter.

As usual Sir, you make case that looks impressive on paper, but break it down and you know he's beaten nobody except a Cleverley who had no place at CW. Yeah on paper his achievements look pretty good.
-
Re: Bellew is like an annoying itch you can't get rid of.
Dunno mate - He was big underdog against lights-out Makabu, has solid world level wins over Masternak and Chilemba, the dangerous Ovil McKenzie was robbed for a "world" title after Bellew beat him and he pulled the upset over Haye, regardless of the circumstances.
Again.. depends on who he's being compared with. I'm judging him solely on what he's done in boxing not his personality.
If he says "i'm an all-time great," it can be proved he's talking bollocks as he's not achieved that status. I think he's proved to be more than labeled toilet though. That's all i'm saying.

I don't think you're wrong or I am right
All I am saying is haye is a bigger name than anyone on wilders record
Yeah my gran would probably have beaten haye from round 5 on that night, but still
And yes I think that people who know boxing (if you're counting people on this site those people) underrare bellew, he is better than people give him credit for
Having said that I think his current standing is much higher than his ability

I with @Fenster and @erics44 on this. Bellew is on a decent run and is over achieving if anything. The Haye win may have been a fluke with the injury but he still had to survive until it ended. I remember most picking Bellew to be blown out in a round or 2. Wilder probably sparks him but his technique is so awful he could get clipped.

Did you see the size disparity between them. The fight would be comical.

I've done a complete U-Turn with Bellew, used to hate the guy and his annoying rants but the way he conducted himself after the Haye stoppage won me over.
You gotta give him props for putting himself where he currently is, he got the Haye fight and the big payday he dreamed of and can earn the Lions share in a rematch which is what he should do then retire.
He'll bag over £4 Million next time.

That is his only real option, the fights with Wilder, Fury and even Parker are mismatches.

It's just childish nonsense, they (I don't mean everyone that dislikes him, you can argue his form doesn't meet your standards etc) can't differentiate between their feelings for someone they don't like with the reality of what he's done in the ring.
If someone keeps proving you wrong it's time to accept you're wrong, if you can't you're forever destined to be an imbecile.
