Lee Haskins v Ryan Burnett IBF bantamweight champion 10/6/17
Ryan Burnett says the time is right for him to become a world champion after weighing in for his IBF bantamweight title fight with Lee Haskins.
The 25-year-old Burnett is stepping up to world title level in his 17th fight and both he and Haskins tipped the scales at 8st 5lbs 3oz ahead of Saturday's fight at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast on Saturday night, live on Sky Sports.
Home favourite Burnett got a taste of the vocal support he can expect to receive for the fight when he traded words with Haskins as the pair faced off for the final time.
Speaking after the weigh in, Burnett said: "The crowd gave me a good pick me up there, so I can't wait to hear the energy tomorrow night.
"To be honest, I wasn't even listening to him; I was just looking at his belt thinking how good that's going to look round my shoulder. I heard a little something but I wasn't paying any attention.
"If I could've, I would've ripped it off him myself. Tomorrow I'll be taking that belt home.
"I don't think his time at the top is over but it's definitely my time.
"Tomorrow night, Ryan Burnett will be crowned champion of the world."
Defending champion Haskins, 33, comes into the bout as the far more experienced fighter and he insists he will not be fazed by the hostile reception he is likely to receive.
Haskins said: "Nobody bothers me if they're booing. It's all part of the game.
"I'm raring to go, honestly, I really am. I told him the truth. I believe he's in deep, deep water tomorrow.
"I can't wait to get in there tomorrow night now that all the hard work and training is over. Tomorrow is the easy part.
"I seem to make the weight easier now than I used to because I put more work in, so I feel like I'm making it easy.
"It's not up to me if my time is up, if it's meant to be it's meant to be but I've done everything I can possibly do and I believe I will prevail."
Watch Ryan Burnett challenge IBF bantamweight champion Lee Haskins in Belfast this Saturday from 8pm on Sky Sports 2.

Dingsdale v Hyland Jnr on now

First round stoppage. Think Howard Foster was a tad too quick to stop it.

He needed oxygen and about 5 minutes sitting down before given the green light. That was one of those weirdo sparkos where I was thinking "what a chin!" as he was getting battered (glad Dave Coldwell mentioned it afterwards too)

Re: Lee Haskins v Ryan Burnett IBF bantamweight champion 10/6/17
75% of Haskins fights are borderline unwatchable, however, when he does have a good fight it's proper good.
Burnett went from an exciting super talented puncher to a super talented powderpuff bore. Hopefully the former comes back

Re: Lee Haskins v Ryan Burnett IBF bantamweight champion 10/6/17
Messy first round but Burnett landed better eye catching shots.

Re: Lee Haskins v Ryan Burnett IBF bantamweight champion 10/6/17
Bad clash of heads both bleeding in the 2nd

Re: Lee Haskins v Ryan Burnett IBF bantamweight champion 10/6/17
Burnett landing right hands and confusing Haskin with his unorthodox style.

Unorthodox? You can hardly call Lee orthodox 😁

Re: Lee Haskins v Ryan Burnett IBF bantamweight champion 10/6/17
Haskin better find his timing in this fight otherwise he will lose, 4 nil to Burnett. Haskin complaining about the head clashing
-
5-0 to Haskins. He gets an extra round because he is Lee Haskins.

I sense a hint of bias there.

Re: Lee Haskins v Ryan Burnett IBF bantamweight champion 10/6/17

-
Re: Lee Haskins v Ryan Burnett IBF bantamweight champion 10/6/17
Haskin down with a right hand in 6th round when Burnett has been rushing in
-

Re: Lee Haskins v Ryan Burnett IBF bantamweight champion 10/6/17
Haskin has injured his right arm/shoulder so Burnett should win this on points. 8 to 1.
-
Re: Lee Haskins v Ryan Burnett IBF bantamweight champion 10/6/17
9 to 1, I expect Haskin to try for the last couple of rounds.
-
Re: Lee Haskins v Ryan Burnett IBF bantamweight champion 10/6/17
I wish I never gave Haskin the sympathy round now. It should be a shut out.
-
Re: Lee Haskins v Ryan Burnett IBF bantamweight champion 10/6/17
Only watched the last few rounds. That American scorecard though! ;D;D;D
He must've been pissed up and mixed up the fighters.
-
Re: Lee Haskins v Ryan Burnett IBF bantamweight champion 10/6/17
Holy mother of fuck! The American judge must have thought Burnett was Haskins, that's gotta be the worst scorecard of all time, he didn't even have it close ;D
