McGregor has gone too far with His racism
There is a limit to hyping and selling, and he has crossed it. I don't think this was a scripted part if the promotion and I used to want him to destroy Floyd but now I hope Floyd slices him up with quick shots until he quits.

Since when did you care about racism? Some of the comments you have made make McGregor look like nothing.

What does "dancing monkeys" mean? Why did he say that, I can't keep up with all this triggerisation shit.
Cunts are in a billion dollar fight yet it still has to be turned into a battle of the races. Only in America!!!

Re: McGregor has gone too far with His racism
Here is Mcgregor before facing Diaz
"I am just trying to do my job and fight here.
I am paid to fight. I am not yet paid to promote.
I have become lost in the game of promotion and forgot about the art of fighting.
There comes a time when you need to stop handing out flyers and get back to the damn shop.
50 world tours, 200 press conferences, 1 million interviews, 2 million photo shoots, and at the end of it all I'm left looking down the barrel of a lens, staring defeat in the face, thinking of nothing but my incorrect fight preparation. And the many distractions that led to this.
Nothing else was going through my mind.
It is time to go back and live the life that got me this life.
Sitting in a car on the way to some dump in Conneticut or somewhere, to speak to Tim and Suzie on the nobody gives a fuck morning show did not get me this life.
Talking to some lady that deep down doesn't give a fuck about what I'm doing, but just wants some sound bites so she can maybe get her little tight ass a nice raise, and I'm cool with that too, I've been giving you all raises. But I need to focus on me now.
I'm coming for my revenge here.
I flew an entire team to Portugal and to Iceland to make my adjustments in preparation and fix my errors I made with the weight and the cardio prep.
With the right adjustments and the right focus, I will finish what I started in that last fight.
I will not do this if I am back on the road handing out flyers again.
I will always play the game and play it better than anybody, but just for this one, where I am coming off a loss, I asked for some leeway where I can just train and focus. I did not shut down all media requests. I simply wanted a slight adjustment.
But it was denied.
There had been 10 million dollars allocated for the promotion of this event is what they told me.
So as a gesture of good will, I went and not only saved that 10 million dollars in promotion money, I then went and tripled it for them.
And all with one tweet.
Keep that 10 mill to promote the other bums that need it. My shows are good.
I must isolate myself now.
I am facing a taller, longer and heavier man. I need to prepare correctly this time.
I can not dance for you this time.
It is time for the other monkeys to dance. I've danced us all the way here.
Nate's little mush head looks good up on that stage these days. Stuff him in front of the camera for it.
He came in with no shit to do that last one. I'd already done press conferences, interviews and shot the ads before RDA pulled out.
Maybe I'll hit Cabo this time and skull some shots pre-fight with no obligation.
I'm doing what I need for me now.
It is time to be selfish with my training again. It is the only way.
I feel the $400million I have generated for the company in my last three events, all inside 8 months, is enough to get me this slight leeway.
I am still ready to go for UFC 200.
I will offer, like I already did, to fly to New York for the big press conference that was scheduled, and then I will go back into training. With no distractions.
If this is not enough or they feel I have not deserved to sit this promotion run out this one time, well then I don't know what to say.
For the record also -
For USADA and for the UFC and my contract stipulations -
I AM NOT RETIRED."
So it's not racist when he calls himself or any other opponent a dancing monkey but when he refers to a fictional film in which a celebrity gym is literally full of people acting like dancing monkeys for the cameras, he is now a racist?
The anti-Irish racism thing is a bit blatant and throwing the flag on the floor would have the Americans in uproar but it is what it is.
At least Floyd is not a racist :-X;D

Re: McGregor has gone too far with His racism
@Ron Swanson is correct. Using "dancing monkeys" is an unveiled insult to May weather. You can't call a black person that word without blacklisting yourself forever. That is crossing the line. Yea he has free speech which I will not want to take away from him, but he has gone too far and now will get ****SLICED UP LIKE VIRGINIA HAM**** as all who have gone too far.

Everyone has free speech but then they are accountable for what they said including the neanderthal moron criminal president.

Re: McGregor has gone too far with His racism
Well Ron there I have to disagree.
-
Re: McGregor has gone too far with His racism
With his "Dance for me, boy" comment, I'd cut him some slack. I've always thought the use of the word "boy" is prone to hypersensitive reactions from blacks. "Boy" can be used as opposed to "man", where you're trying to demean you're opponent. Have the recipient be white, and it'd be no issue at all. That's a tough one to call.
But when given the opportunity to clear the air, McGregor goes a bit further and calls himself black from the waist down. That was a bit more unfortunate, and probably lends more credence to the "racist" accusations.

I get what you are saying but you had segregation until 1964. Over here we never had segregation. Some establishments though had signs saying
NO IRISH
NO BLACKS
NO DOGS
so I think the monkey thing is just people barking up the wrong tree .( I probably could have worded that better ) but I think the reality is pair of them are probably dicks and Mayweather is probably more racist than the Paddy.

I would never call any upstanding citizen weather black white green purple or yellow a gorilla. But any kind of criminal or terrorist or murderer should be called a gorilla don't you think? It had nothing to do with the person being black.

Come on man, if it isn't racism then why does it keep being used? You see the monkey thing at soccer matches, you see it on Russian candy that was made to insult Obama, you see it from racist after racist. Always intended as an insult. Always at black people. Nobody is unaware what they are saying when they say it.
Floyd is a giant POS, I have no doubt he's a racist. And he called McGregor a faggot today, I'm in no way defending Floyd.
I'm saying it's about time people stop denegrating others. And if they do they should be called on it.
I actually think Conor is a funny guy, although the press conferences got worse and worse after Toronto. But there is no place in civilized society for dancing monkeys comments. Insulting a person is very different from saying something an entire population is offended by. And offended by for good reason. We don't need to search for historical content. Watch Germany play Nigeria in a friendly, you'll see fans with bananas. It is quite deliberate. The "I didn't know" defence doesn't fly. Just because it's accepted to call black people monkeys in Russia or Taiwan or China or wherever doesn't make it right.
I think a simple rule of thumb is if the KKK say it, don't say it.
-
Re: McGregor has gone too far with His racism
I am not a soccer fan and never was and find the sport rather boring so I would not know about that. Do people actually literally bring bananas to the stadium when for example Nigeria is playing? That is Despicable I cannot believe that that still goes on in 2017

Re: McGregor has gone too far with His racism
i cant take the press on this fight, i probably wont even watch it. its just to much shit and money involved. i cant se why any boxing fan wants to go see all this press thing going on for a couple of months to se a fights thats no worth anybodies time.
am i on the right track or am i boring?

I've not watched the pressers becauseI have zero interest in the fight.
I am pretty confident that McGregor hasn't said anything remotely racist.
I often refer to people as monkeys, nothing to do with racism at all.
Shall I be the first to say "political correctness gone mad '
Grow the fuck up, watch the fight of you are interested, don't watch it if you are not interested, just don't fabricate shit about racism just to satisfy your own self righteousness

You admit you don't watch but tell those that do what happened. I always assume most here are British. But that sounds oh so American.
Support racism all you wish though. Others will denounce it as they wish too.

Don't see any monkeys, let alone dancing monkeys. Does he mean the 3 women dancers? Is that the argument? Have we gone this far down the rabbit hole to hold onto the right to call people "dancing monkeys". Is it that important to you to be able to call people dancing monkeys? I would love to hear why anyone needs to be able to call people dancing monkeys.
-
Re: McGregor has gone too far with His racism
I can't believe you people are taking this seriously. The two of them are practically laughing at each other up there. Mayweather even commented that Connor was interesting and that he liked him. The fights geared to the casual fan... so talking about a persons actual skills, fight style or anything is not going to round up viewers. Any racial comments, personal style comments, lifestyle comments are made deliberately so people can identify, take it personally and fork over 100dollars they normally wouldn't care enough to pay. It's part of the circus.
It wasn't racist when Mayweather made the same kind of comments about Pacquiao or Jeremy Lin? Being a polarizing figure is all part of the bait. If you don't like him and want to see him win, you'll hate him and pay to see him lose. They're both in on it and if you can't see that by now, you're probably falling for it. It's classic wwe, soap opera drama. Hopkins throwing your flag down isn't going to get it done anymore. So why not prey on everyone's sensitivities, paranoia and tension caused by the political climate and really trigger people. It's all fun and profitable till someone that doesn't know its a show or bought into it too much and does something stupid and someone gets hurt. What will it be, people throwing bows in the crowd? outside? someone gets shot? Asinine way to encourage people to watch so they can both make their nut.. not to mention prostitute our sport.
bet you these assh0les start hanging out after this fight. ..

So because @Batman feels it wasn't intended racially , he supports racism?
By the same context, all you clowns commenting on this whole fucking circus act are supporting it and mugging yourselves off.
Oh yeah, lots of you "purists" are trying to be "true to your boxing knowledge" by acknowledging that it is one-sided yadda yadda, so people don't think you're actually interested in the fight as a sporting occasion.
But you're just trying to cover up that you "SUPPORT" this rubbish.
You should all be pretty embarrassed really.

There is a scene in Paradise Alley with a dancing monkey but I think you and Brock are missing the point. McGregor has referred to himself as a "dancing monkey" when talking about press commitments, he only a couple day ago referred to Mayweather's two white bodyguards as "Steroid Monkeys". People are so eager to want to be offended and that is quite clear from people being up in arms already because McGregor asked Floyd to dance for him. That is what Floyds does, it is his trademark and the is greatest backhanded compliment he could have thrown at him. His ability to move is what makes him stand out and gives him room to work.
Yes there are terrible Racists in European football but Hurling is more popular in Ireland. Is it now unacceptable to use the word monkey? of course not, and yes racism should be called out for what it is but I think people are just as eager to make Mcgregor fit into some cliched backwards Irish stereotype that they cannot see their nose for their face.

So it is OK for you to use the word Gorilla without any care for the fact that people may misconstrue it because you have only ever used it to refer to black thugs, but people cannot use the word monkey? This is how over the top PC and messed up you are. Look at you signature pic. Someone once accused you of being racist and you responded with a picture of you holding somebodies Asian child. Seriously why would you have to do that and what does that prove? Overcompensation.
Plenty of white racists with non white wives. In fact it is frighteningly common. There is no logic in racism it is dumb and stupid.

What is "Paradise Alley"? I watched Rocky III last night in hopes I am wrong. That my relatives yelling at me about how offended they are are wrong. I didn't see a monkey. I did see that before the first fight Rocky was being interviewed with manners and they were harassing Clubber literally saying "Clubber, dance for us". Coincidence? Or was it a statement? Let's not be naive.
Using a word for yourself doesn't make it okay to use it towards others that are offended by it and for long established reasons. If I call myself the n word I'm not suddenly allowed to call people that.
I understand ideally race matters f all. All things should be fair, all people afforded equal opportunity and treatment according to their actions. But until we as an entire species become better we have to acknowledge that some feel judged unjustifiably. And statistics support that is an undeniable fact. So we must avoid specific triggers that everyone knows remind people of horrible treatment from ignorant people.
Understand I in no way suggest Conor has anything against black people. I don't know him to know that. But there's a reason the show that asked the question that led to "dancing monkeys" took it off their site right away. Everyone knows it's offensive. I didn't know quite how offensive until my phone started blowing up about it. But I damn well knew it was offensive.

Re: McGregor has gone too far with His racism
This policing of language is something I would disregard openly and publicly.
I can think of at least one word I wouldn't pronounce that links back to a dark past (unintended pun), and that's the one that rhymes with "trigger"
Hate speech is clearly an exception too, as it is defined as speech that calls for violence.
Hate speech is not defined as something that people simply disagree with. Policing language because of disagreements in beliefs people chose to hold is simply a form of control for the sake of it.
