Manny Pacquiao pulls out of Jeff Horn rematch
Manny Pacquiao: Eight-weight champion pulls out of Jeff Horn rematch
http://ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps...body_getty.jpg
Former champion Manny Pacquiao has pulled out of a welterweight rematch with Australian Jeff Horn, who stunned the boxing world with victory in July.
The Filipino fighter, 38, is said to have "other commitments" at the time of the rescheduled bout on 12 November.
Horn, a 29-year-old former schoolteacher, was given a unanimous 12-round decision in Brisbane.
The World Boxing Organization reviewed the result with a new set of judges, who still favoured Horn for the win.
The Queensland state government, who are financial backers for the fight, say they will continue to support Horn's WBO world welterweight title defence, whoever the challenger is.
Pacquiao, now senator of the Philippines, announced he planned to quit boxing last year to pursue his political ambitions.
His coach, Freddie Roach, advised him to call time on his career after the defeat to Horn, but Pacqiuao wanted the rematch.

Might as well. Pacquiao should enjoy his retirement. No point in this, even if he wins it spurs a meaningless trilogy.

Re: Manny Pacquiao pulls out of Jeff Horn rematch
Wonder what the response would have been if Floyd cherry picked Horn..Crack on Master?

Re: Manny Pacquiao pulls out of Jeff Horn rematch
He got robbed in my opinion but he looked like shit
He's lucky he wasn't in with Thurman or Spence
There was talk of him fighting Crawford... no chance.

Re: Manny Pacquiao pulls out of Jeff Horn rematch
I bet that Horn fights Crawford next then

I wouldn't call that a fight ;D
Horn will stay in Australia and milk it for all he can before selling himself out

Horn will probably try milk it but I don't see a long reign for him. It would be a nice entry fight into Welter for Crawford. He can pick up a belt to bring to the bargaining table.

Good in theory but generally TR just holds onto the WBO belt and fights other TR fighters. Let's hope they let Crawford off the leash like they did at 140. But 147 is more dangerous

Horn didn't impress me. He was definitely determined against Pacquiao, but I think he might as well go for broke now because he will most likely lose to a much worse opponent later. Might as well get some money by getting beat up by a great fighter.

I see Horn making an 'easy' first defense at home before looking to cash out.

Re: Manny Pacquiao pulls out of Jeff Horn rematch
This is good and had little interest in rematch. Had Manny winning and going again felt like bit of a sideways step regardless of trinket. Arum can bank a susceptible though willing huge hometown Horn next out and wins either way while saving a Manny last hurrah if they see fit. Crawford is about to go 147 and I think he steamrolls Manny to be honest.

Hes fought way past his best, he will be remembered as a great.
He should retire and go save the phillapines.

Have you reached your destination now? Not walking anymore.

Re: Manny Pacquiao pulls out of Jeff Horn rematch
I just hope he is retiring, actually I wouldn't mind seeing horn retire either

Horn deserves the chance to defend the belt and earn a few bob. If he loses, whatever. But anybody with Pac's name on their record , no matter how shot he is, deserves a payday.
Pac should retire and I hope he does.
He's a cheeky cunt if he thinks he can pull out and get a fight that suits him.

Saw Horns trainer talking up Jessie Vargas as someone to bring in and it's being talked about for December. I had no idea how massive the Government was involved in the proposed fight as the premier of Queensland has indicated. "My Government will support Horn and help arrange the meeting..". I get it's a huge coup for exposure and benefits the area financially but that kind of chatter makes me want to see the judges kept in isolation and shipped in 30 minutes before the bell ;D. Less we see more iffy decisions :-X

Re: Manny Pacquiao pulls out of Jeff Horn rematch
Jesse Vargas? That's what I mean. At least cash out on Crawford. Vargas is good enough to beat Horn I think then his career will basically be over

Golden Boy may push Matthysse. Does Horn get a voluntary?

I think that would be a good one for horn, if its in australia of course, matthysse certainly was really great and brilliant to watch but his last two defeats did a lot of damage to him (in my opinion) and add in a fight with nutbar providnikov inbetween I think this equals a lot of wear and tear for matthysse.. Hefought his whole career at 140 untill recently too and horn looked really big in the pacman fight(could have pacman being a little fellow though)... matthysse as mandatory and then an easy voluntary... maybe horn could be champ for a while yet, which I dont have a problem with.

Re: Manny Pacquiao pulls out of Jeff Horn rematch
I'm so tired of Bob Arum and his slave Pac. This story ended long ago.

No one has told Manny that yet. Arum will carry on making money with Crawford.

Manny Pacquiao pulls out of Jeff Horn's wife
I hear they're making Horn vs McGregor
I'm not sure who I'd root for if that happened
Think I'd give McGregor the edge in that fight
Conor is so much bigger than Pacquiao
Not sure he'd even make 147 so no title
Just another money fight for both men

Lol, Hi Master how have you been. I felt Pac beat horn in the first match, But he looked old. But... I also seen the Pac vs May fight a dozen times and feel Pac should of won a split or majority decision.
