Mayweather Gatti II???
Odds are, good ole Arturo is gonna destroy Baldomir, and PBF will win someway against "Super" ::** Judah. I know Floyd's said he want ODLH and Hitman, but eventually people are going to remind him despite being a P4P great he was only a paper champ and junior welter and welter... unless of course he fights Gatti again. What does everyone else think?
I personally think if Gatti actually brawls like he's used to rather than trying to box Mayweather this could be a great fight, not making any predictions (I enjoy Thunder so much I'd make some biased and ultimately stupid prediction) but I'd love to see Arturo try and recapture his brawling excitement like we saw against Ward. Those were the fights that originally got me hooked on boxing and we need more like em.

Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
Boxers eat Gatti like he's cereal...he fwocks with Floyd again...he'w fwocked!
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
Gatti has been in too many wars to get beat down badly again. Floyd=Retirement.

i agree :coolclick:
He got beat to badly in the first fight dont wanna see it happen again!
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
already didn't wanna see it after he fought De La Hoya
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
It would surprise me if Gatti took a second fight with PBF. Even if he tried to brawl, PBF would just pick him apart like last time. It is just an extremely bad style match up for Gatti.
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
No way in hell with there be a second fight. Neither guy needs that.
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
If floyd faught gatti again then we know for sure that he's a chicken shit
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
I really think with Gatti brawling he could stand a chance. Personal opinion but I think the reason he was so soundly demolished was that he attempted to box. I think there are three truly dnagerous fights for Floyd, a rematch with Gatti, Hatton, or a rematch with Jose Luis Castillo. He has no reason to take any apart from the Hatton fight and would be mad to do so, but it would be interesting to see.
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
He destroys Gatti even worse, he wins a more lopsided UD against Castillo, and he uses Hatton as target practice.
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
Why would anybody pay to see a PBF-Gatti rematch? It makes no sense. When one guy beats the other as bad as PBF did, there's no need for a rematch.
And PBF's got bigger fish to fry, anyway.
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
Hatton will give Floyd immense pressure which he will struggle with, as long as they fight in the next year or two. Castillo just seems more imposing now to me (granted I'm basing this on the two fights with Corrales). Like I said, I'm not predicting anything for Gatti, honestly i believe PBF would probably win, but I think it would be a more entertaining fight should we have it again and Gatti Brawls more.
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
Wether people would pay for it is not my original point, I believe the fight should happen if both win their next fights because Floyd should have a legit championship rather than a paper one like at junior welterweight.
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
What paper title are you talking about? Zab is the IBF champ, right? And PBF won Gatti's WBC belt. So what paper title are you speaking of?
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
He's a paper champ at Junior Welter - Gatti was not ""the man", if he beat Tsuyu or Hatton he couldve been considered champ, they were the respective number one men in the division.
And how on earth can anyone seriously count Zab as a champion, he only has the damn belt because Baldomir cant afford the extra sanctioning fee, it was despicable that he was allowed to and is keeping it. He has to beat the winner of Gatti Baldomir to be considered the Welterweight champ as well.

People would still pay for it. As ridiculous as it sounds. Regardless of belts, but belts would make it more interesting. What would hype it even more, is if Gatti destroys Baldomir in less than 3 rds. People always want to see a beatdown, and if Gatti does what i stated, his fans will be chanting Floyd's name. Believing that he can summon some magic, one more time. I love watching Gatti fight, and I'm a fan, but this is one fight I hope he doesn't take.
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
c'mon now everyone knows Zab is not really the IBF champion
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
Didnt any of you see the first Gatti-Mayweather fight? Gatti was 30 seconds behind everything Mayweather did. It was such a mismatch, it made Winky-Trinidad look like a close fight.
I understand your logic, but when a fight is so lopsided, even if Gatti destroys the "Dangerous" Baldomir, I dont see the public screaming for Gatti-PBF 2.

Haha yep..... But the only way he could win is by brawling, But like the wacko guys says......................... He would get fwocked up!

Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
What makes the Gatti-Baldomir winner any more deserving of a PBF fight than Margarito? First off, PBF will never fight Baldomir. Telemundo would have trouble getting people to watch that. Nobody wants to see Gatti get beat up again, either. Which leaves Judah, once he loses to PBF, as the sensible option for the Gatti-Baldomir winner.

So you're saying Judah loses his undisputed crown, then loses his next fight and is still deserving of a title shot!?!?! That's ridiculous. What would be ideal is for Margarito to fight the winner, then Margarito Floyd for the undisputed title after Floyd faces Oscar. Then Floyd can actually call himself a champ again and start defending against people like Hatton. If Floyd can come through all of that, then people will stop questioning him.
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
Dude, youre tripping. Those belts dont mean anything anymore. This guy is so far ahead of ALL his competition, and thats the ONLY thing that matters. He destroyed Gatti, and Baldomir is seen as a journeyman who caught Zab on an off night. Unfortunaely for Margarito, he isnt a PPV worthy fight, so PBF aint gonna step that way. But PBF dont need to fight any of those 3 to "prove" himself. He's been doing that for years.
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
Thats the point, Floyd hasnt been doing that for years (waits to get flamed by the Floyd fans). He has taken three years off, he no longer fights elite opposition. I'm not saying Baldomir is elite competition but those belts would at least legitimise him saying hes been a champ at however many weights.
PBF needs to fight Margarito and Hatton to prove people like me wrong.
Don't get me wrong, I love Floyd's skills and rank him 2 P4P behind Winky, just ahead of Pac, but hes gotta fight elite fighters again (Slightly regretting naming the thread Gatti Mayweather 2 now weve moved to him taking elite fights oops :P ???) if for nothing else than so we can see him in enjoyable fights again
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
gatti mayweather wont and shouldnt happen again. but i i would have loved gatti to do what he does best in the first fight. as if he was ever gonna outbox or beat mayweater to the punch. he should have gone after him, he still would have took a lot of punishment, but we all know he can take a bit, and at least he may have had some success himself (cos lord knows i would love to see mayweather put on his arse). thats the main reason cant wait for a mayweather fight with hatton, because ricky would know exactly what he has to do, which is outwork him and use EDUCATED pressure.

The public wouldn't scream for the fight, and I personally wouldn't want to see it, but it would still sell. Deserving or not.

CC excellent points. He has great talent but we have to go too far back to see his last great challenge and to be P4P number, that is not right! How do we know how good he is if he is not going to fight the Margarito's Hatton's etc. All throughout history, you see guy's who are P4P number 1s fighting high risk fighters, to prove they are the best.
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
i couldn't care less if he fights Magarito, ill give him credit for beating Judah but i need to see Hatton-Mayweather. Its a must.
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
Margarito is number 2 in 90% WW lists and apart from Mayweather would crush anyone else so i'd say I want to see that fight first!
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
I think at this point in his career he needs to start fighting the top 10 of whatever weight division he is in. If he keeps going after the weakest champion of each weight class then I feel he starts sliding down the p4p scale. He needs to be in there with people that will challenge him not with fighters that showcase him.
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
WTF HELL NO, i dont wanna see gatti get hammered again.
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
a dud like gatti doesnt deserve a rematch.
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
It'd be ritual sacrifice. Gatti's got balls like grapefruits and is great entertainment when he's well matched but his management should't allow it and his fans shouldn't wish it on him
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
i think if gatti turned it into a pier 6 slobberknocker he'd have a chance o at least do alot better than he did the first time

The problem with people is that they refuse to acknowledge that Gatti tried to make a fight with Floyd...Floyd just wouldn't let him.
Gatti can bring a ball bat into the ring...he still get's beat.
-
Re: Mayweather Gatti II???
did he balls try to make a fight of it. his whole game plan was shite, he was hardly even coming forward, let alone doing his usual style of taking 5 to land 1 of his own. he tried to box when he should have done what he does best.
