I thought he had been caught loading his wraps or something......as for his injuries, I do not wish those on anyone and they happen to too many. I always hope for the best for a fighter's health, but at the end of the day if he can pass the medical review for the athletic commission and he wants to continue fighting it's his life.
People seem to forget that both Marco Antonio Barerra and Edwin Valero boxed with plates in their heads which is also pretty scary.
Bit of a random post considering that Brook has pretty much been out of the lime light since the Spence loss.
I think he carries on, he has one or two gimmies then he fights Queen Khan, if his eye holds out against Khan and he beats him then he is back in contention.
He's not stupid though, he knew he was in trouble with his eye against Spence and he retired, he isn't going to take any stupid risks.
It could be more of a mental thing with him, I can see him panicking and quitting for fear of his eyesight as soon as he gets a mouse under it but I can't see him fighting till it drops out.

I don't know how a guy can sustain injury like that and not have it in the back of his mind. But in fairness that has to go for anyone previously badly sparked out or a jaw shattered. But Brook is no Margarito at this point. He can actually box and compete with top champions etc. Margarito needed a corner think tank to save face :-X and escape his last fight with a shady 'W'.

The dude was protecting his eye aight he knew what injury he had sustained and didn't want to run the risk of permanent blindness so he ended the fight which he knew was already beyond his reach.
Please explain what he should have done, he could have gone the distance, been beat and ended up permanently blind in one eye and having to retire from the sport prematurely, is that what you are after?

Brook sustained broken orbital bones around and of the eye socket. They doctors assessed the damage and repaired the damage (probably with titanium plates-- as bone tends to graft to titanium- which is why they use it for dental implants). I write another post on one of the other threads where the subject comes up. There are nhl enforced that had the same injuries and continued their careers getting punched in the face by 6'8 240 pounders.
Margarito seems to have sustained nerve damage. Hence the glass eye melting face look he sports. 'Cheato's ability to take abuse is more integral to his style of fighting than brook. Aside from the last two fights where he sustained the damage Brooke's been able to avoid sustaining a large amount of punishment due to his use of angles and in and out fighting and rolling with punches. Brooke still has a level of skill that can nick him a victory around many of the fighters near his weight. 'Cheato at this point is burned out pug who's fighting on heart/insanity at this point for money. I think he knows that theres no glory that will change peoples opinion of him. The eye could very likely get worse.
