Briedis-Perez - WSS/ITV BO/STREAMS/rd-by-rd

Intriguing fight.

Briedis is one of the best cruisers in the world in a really hot division. Perez is a super lazy-skilled little plump heavyweight that's finally decided to train but unfortunately had just 29 seconds of action in the past few years.

I've been contemplating backing Perez (4/1), as he looks in terrific condition at this weight, however, if beating Briedis wasn't hard enough, he'll probably need a KO (15/2). Now he certainly had enough crack to prevent men 25lb naturally bigger than him taking liberties but most of his stoppages came from reducing out-skilled/speeded plodders to walking quitting punchbags.

Perez can take a decent clump (no shame getting chinned by Povetkin and if being half-cut is true, as he claims, then understandble) but in Breidis he'll be dealing with speedier, sharper shots than he's been used to from a fundamentally excellent fighter with a persistent fight winner jab.

I think either Briedis destroys Perez early-ish - 16 of his 18 KO's have come in 5 rounds or less - (rds 1-3 7/1 / rds 1-6 9/4) or Perez gets into the fight confusing Briedis with his relaxed, slippery two-fisted lefty-switch style... which brings us back to Perez pulling off an upset (4/1). Hmmm....

Briedis will dominate Pérez but he might not stop him. I’m going with a wide UD.

I really want Perez to win since he has moved down in weight he looks ready.

What time is this on and i can not find it on ITV4. :)

No could not find it but know it was happening.

Missed it completely but didn't sound like a good fight. Did anyone actually watch it? Was hoping the restructuring of Perez at 190 would pay off but not to be.

I looked high and low but could not get it anywhere.

The fight was terrible to watch Briedis was like a Klingon Perez was like stale bread shit nearly as bad as Parker V Fury yes I wasted 36 minutes

Yep

That ref was very biased. Now I understand why Perez called him out. Perez would be on the receiving end of dirty tactics and the ref would chastise Perez. Very odd

Yep, didn't like that ref job at all. Does this mean Perez is out of the tourney now? It was a shit fight that I all but stopped watching, but I thought he looked sharp enough early and in spots. Considering he's had so little time in the ring over the last couple of years and virtually none at the weight, wouldn't mind seeing him against another top guy. Yes Usyk is going to kill Breidis you'd have to think.

Yeah it's a knockout tournament, back to obscurity for Perez.

Terrible style clash. I thought Perez wasn't free of blame (he's been in a few messes like that) but Briedis was like Wlad, he can't and won't fight on the inside. Not long ago I thought Briedis would give Uysk a serious argument but that vicious killer mentality Usyk has is gonna make Briedis shit himself.
