Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
This is the second ITV PPV in a week that would be 2nd/3rd from the top on a big Matchroom/SKY bill. And these funkers don't even attempt to provide an undercard.
Anyway...
The psychotic dark horse finally gets his chance. Cox looks a bit small at this weight (gold medalist at lightwelter) and will probably go like 99% of super talented nutters - south. There's probably a great chance he gets himself DQ'd here. Groves is a great windup merchant and knows it'll take a tiny tap in the goolies, sneaky little headbut or clip around the back of the head for Cox to go loco.
Having sparred loads of times I expect Groves to show Cox big respect. I doubt he believes it will be an easy blowout (and if sparring stories are true, Cox is P4P) and Cox has always shown a rock solid beard (at a much lower level/weight). Cox certainly ain't the Julian Jackson his mob have been selling him as but it would be a surprise if he didn't have enough crack to bother Groves.
Cox is 5/1 (PP) / 7/1 for the KO (general)

Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
Like last week they will clash with the boxing on the other channels.
Very frustrating.
ITV have shown no promotion over the boxing, if this was sky they would have advertised it on all their channels 24/7.

Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
There's other boxing on Saturday night?
-
Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
Undercard fight on Adolphe v Macintosh
-
Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)

Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
I've just put it on, I've just finished wasting 90 minutes of my life by watching the dark tower, what a steaming pile of absolute shite that film was

He should be, they were taping up the hands of the fighters.
This undercard fight is not good.
How many sons has Chris Eubank? His son's fight every week.

Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
Fighters coming into the ring now.
-
Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
Groves started slowly in the first round but then landed the right hands on Cox.
Think Groves got caught on the ropes and wobbled?
-
Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
Cox went all Rambo on Groves and attacked him in the corner. Groves looked shook up but later in the round Groves landed his own punches.
1-1 Cox wins second.
-
Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
Groves wins quieter third round with right hands.
-
Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
Groves stops Cox with a right hand to the body in the 4th round.
That was a surprise.
-
Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
I have no way of viewing this fight. Round by round details appreciated.
-
Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
Fucking hell, didn't see that coming. It didn't look that much of a punch?? Looking back at the replay, it looked like a rib cracker! Cue the circus act now with Eubank getting in the ring!

Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
Well that was fun whilst it lasted
-
Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
Pretty good shot to finish it
-
Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
Groves marks up easily and can get caught.
I think Eubank Junior will beat him.
-
Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
This takes us back to the glory days of Eubank v Benn v Watson.
With Herol "De Gale" Graham standing on the side lines.

Nah.Groves is supremely confident and Eubank is putting it on like he thinks it's what he should do.
Groves KNOWS he's bigger, stronger and better.

Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
Interviewer: so Jr who got the better of who when you sparred George Groves
Jr: well you know sparring doesn't mean anything it's just training isn't it
Interviewer: so Jr is it fair to say you haven't been in with anyone of Groves quality before
Jr: not in an actual fight but I've sparred with top quality opposition and we all know how that went
-
Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
I think jr will beat him too. Volume of punches will be too much. I secretly want eubank jr to do well and go on to be great. Ilove a good upset but i also love to see the guy everybody hates do well. I.e mayweather. Im evil.
-
Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
If he stays out of trouble out of the ring, I believe Cox could come again, no problem..........but it would have to be at MW.

In that case I want Groves to win.

Re: Groves-Cox ITV PPV (streeeeam?)
That had a sense of inevitability about it didn't it. Cox was lively but Groves was measuring the right hand and walked him onto a few the previous round. Wicked body shot to finish, looked like it hit him on the wrong side for a right hander. Did the trick though.

Yeah, and the the other day, that tool Eubank was saying "Yeah I had the measure of him in sparring, I won 90% of the spars."
He did a bit of Backstroke once he was stood up there with Groves.
