Ryan Burnett-ZZ - IBF/WBA Bantamweight Unification/Saturday/SKY/HBO
Burnett (IBF) is one the UK's most talented young fighters (quite surprisingly under the radar). An unbeaten (17-0, 9 KOs) super slick/skilled mover (typical Adam Booth type) that looked a puncher early in his career but of late not so. Did a number on the tricky experienced vet Lee Haskins last time (had him on the deck but couldn't get rid of him).
Zhanat Zhakiyanov (WBA) is a hard-as-nails pressure fighter from Golovkin country. He's racked up some good form (27-1, 18 KOs) travelling all over the shop to pull off upsets, none better than last time when getting off the floor to give Rau'shee Warren a 12 round hiding in his backyard. He's trained by Ricky Hatton, which as far as styles go is clearly a great match.
Can Burnett prevent the relentless stronger ZZ from walking through him? Burnett has a vicious, lightening right hand that he whips in from all over the shop (body and bonce) which ZZ is gonna be a sucker for. It's odds-on the fight goes the distance (4/9) but I think Burnett's weapon of a righthand combined with his twinkletoes will have ZZ wounded to the point of defeat before he ever gets started (he's been caught cold and dumped on his arse three times in recent bouts).
Burnett stoppage is just over 3/1 (16/5) / Rds 1-6 (9/1)

Re: Ryan Burnett-ZZ - IBF/WBA Bantamweight Unification/Saturday/SKY/HBO
Might be driving up on this. I think Burnett got a nasty cut v Haskins from a clash of heads that probably contributed to Burnett not getting rid of Haskins.

I've got this as a 50/50. Burnett has the better ability but has he faced an opponent as aggressive Z can be? Both look in fantastic shape. Burnett in points or Z by kayo.

Undercard fight on 6 founder and Fowler is fighting.
-
Anthony Fowler wins
Josh Kelly v Zuniga next
Andy Lee commentating, have not seen him in awhile.
-
That was mighty impressive from Josh. Very talented, skilled, sharp, fast and confident boxer.
That left hook is like Roy Jones Jr at his peak.

Re: Ryan Burnett-ZZ - IBF/WBA Bantamweight Unification/Saturday/SKY/HBO
Kelly stops him in the 2nd round. Well the ref did.

These fights are working themselves nicely
Hyland on now
-
Re: Ryan Burnett-ZZ - IBF/WBA Bantamweight Unification/Saturday/SKY/HBO
Hyland should use his height and reach against Ormond.
2nd round now
-
Re: Ryan Burnett-ZZ - IBF/WBA Bantamweight Unification/Saturday/SKY/HBO
Hyland knocks him down in the 3rd but Ormond survives

Most abbreviated RBR in Saddos history ;D. Any KD's, entertaining fight close or Burnett boxed his ears? No problem with pressure of ZZ? Were the judges able to tell them apart this time :reporter:.

You didn't really watch it huh ;D;D. Yeh multiple screens bit to keep up with, another reason to hate when networks in the States go 'head to head'.

Re: Ryan Burnett-ZZ - IBF/WBA Bantamweight Unification/Saturday/SKY/HBO
missed all the boxing last night, I'd been down the Villa and I was absolutely shattered when I got home so I decided to spend the night watching brainless films.
Doesn't sound like I missed a lot

Tennyson v Traynor and Josh Kelly were good fights, check them out if you get a chance.

Re: Ryan Burnett-ZZ - IBF/WBA Bantamweight Unification/Saturday/SKY/HBO
I was watching it in a shite bar with music blaring so was hard to follow. Thought Ormond was very unlucky not to get the win. Hyland looks very average. It was a decent fight though. Burnett scorecards looked pretty wide to me

Re: Ryan Burnett-ZZ - IBF/WBA Bantamweight Unification/Saturday/SKY/HBO
That was a good solid fight. The right guy got the win. Burnett has some e extremely tough competition at 118 but he's showing he's not afraid to challenge himself.
