HBO Fight Night: Corrales vs Machado~Andrade vs Fox

HBO not exactly putting butts in the seats with this Golden Boy card but looking forward to Corrales again and seeing Demetrius Andrade now going into expanding middleweight division. Andrade taking on unknown Alantez Fox and regardless of standing 6'4 Fox looks well in over his head. Not sure if Andrade intends to stay 160 and he'll say he was ducked at 154 but..he should have fought Charlo when it was on the table!

Flashy Jezreel Corrales dropped his title on the scale and fights Puerto Ricos 18-0 (15) Alberto Machado main event.

Same day replay of Burnett vs Zhakiyanov. Burnett really muscling ZZ equally and very scrappy mauling inside affair.

Fox an unofficial 180 lbs. Andrade comes in wearing some wear wolf costume :cwm13:. Fox already staggered 1 minute in

You can always tell when a guy has a new contract with hbo. They run on about his amateur wins and lather them up endlessly. Andrade picking his shots over 3 rounds. Fox is 6'4 but looks to have no interest in using it. Pretty much squatting down and flicking a jab but little else.

Fox wobbled very end of 4th. Andrade actually backing more end 5th walking Fox in and Fox obliges but probably best Fox round, and that's reaching. This is one where Andrade doesn't want this staying room temperature as it is now. Time to kick it up if you're talking Jacobs and Golovkin

Woah. Andrade ruled knocked down :-X. Need to see that replay, looked like a shoulder shove as Andrade jumped in low.

The feet never touched it looked, Fox swept a long right under to Andrade chest mostly miss and bad footing by Andrade. Definitely not clean. Fox is just big, that's literally it. Punch, movement wise he looks to have little idea.

Better round for Fox using right hand with some purpose, stiffer jab and to body. Andrade sharper but like to see him pick a style here in 10th and press it.

Nice 5 punch combo last 30 of 10th for Andrade. Nothing massive but best of fight. Tecate girls..man oh man.

Andrade over shooting to point of losing footing in spots. Whipping wide shots from the hips and pocking and prodding. Last round and happy about that.

this guy on the loud mic between rounds yelling about Golden boy T shirts needs something thrown at him.

Andrade just timing out the round and turning dancing queen final minute. Should be 119-109 across the board with bogus knock down. Some judge had 116-111.

going out on a limb here. Jacobs and Golovkin, Jermall Charlo would stuff Andrade into a box and ship him back to 154. Hbo will force the issue though.

Not proud to say I thought Andrade might turn into something special years ago.

Right there also, just not fan of style. Think this jump is more about new contract push and less about him making realistic noise at suited division 154. He could.

Corrales free swinging in 3rd and Machado has watched the Castellanos reach and fight. Better round for him. Didn't know Machado had Roach in corner.

Hard to get into this fight. Corrales awkward sharp and good blind counters but doesn't seem sturdy. Lampley talks Loma vs Corrales. Nope.

Annnd Corrales hurt and resorts to tackling Machado ffs. Corrales hurt again off wide right-left hooks. Someone start a fire!

Machado wobbled in 7th. Corrales warned for holding near end. I'm beginning to wonder if Corrales hangs out with Javier Fortuna. On replay Corrales clipped later in round and glove touches down, missed kd for Machado.

:o Done deal! Machado catches nim with one short left and Corrales goes flat, counted out 8th! They traded and Machado won. Corrales deserved that

Corrales barges into interview talking about a rematch for a fight he wouldn't make weight for in first place, go away son. Machado shouting out Puerto Pico, right on.

Lampley harping on 10 count regardless of Corrales obviously wobbly.

I’m so happy that Machado won the fight. I hate it when people miss weight. Why would Corrales want a rematch when he couldn’t even make weight this fight? If I were Machado, I would never give him a rematch.

Fortunately, Machado doesn’t look that good but winning this fight will give him a nice little payday in the future. Corrales will have to move up to 135 and his career will be over because he won’t be able to compete with the top guys there at all.

Michael Dutchover fought on that card and won by tko4.

That was fun. I wouldn't mind a rematch. Doubt Corrales can make 130 tho.
