Selby and DeGale fighting on BT sport Dec 9th promoted by Frank Warren
-
Re: Shelby and DeGale fighting on BT sport Dec 9th promoted by Frank Warren
I thought things were not going to well with Eddie and DeGale because James was always fighting away. I am sure he made good money but would have preferred to fight in London.
Selby wants Warrington after this mandatory which should be good and easy money for him.
Having Yarde and DDD on the undercard will be entertaining too.

Good to see DeGale back in the ring.

Re: Selby and DeGale fighting on BT sport Dec 9th promoted by Frank Warren
Two badly advised fighters that shot themselves in the foot leaving Hearn for the American dream (especially Selby, if things hadn't gone bad enough for him, he's now reduced back to where he was years ago chasing Warrington for a payday, and must be devastated this week with the Cardiff stadium bill). They've gone from the 02/football stadiums to the copperbox. Says it all.

Re: Selby and DeGale fighting on BT sport Dec 9th promoted by Frank Warren
What are the chances Selby finds a fight with Valdez a fight or two away. That is one I'm stuck on would be awesome. DeGale to me is a long road back and be nice to see where he's at. Steer clear of a Ramirez - Benavidez right off.

Re: Selby and DeGale fighting on BT sport Dec 9th promoted by Frank Warren
DeGale, long term, will want the winner of the super middleweight series.
Selby is fearless and will want Warrington and Frampton next year.

What DeGale wants is the Groves rematch and he NEEDS Groves to win that Super Series.
This is do-able because although Groves is with Sauerland, he has worked on other Promoter's bills and if Sauerland can work with Sky/Matchroom, he can work with Warren/BT Sport.
Selby, will have a fight December, beat Warrington, which will be a nice tune up for him to beat Frampton.

I think Eubank Jnr can be made too should he win.

Not if Frank Warren has anything to do with it. Besides, he won't fucking win. :)

Warren or Hearn will work with anyone if it makes money.
I think Junior can win the whole thing.

Warren does not deserve to be anywhere near a prospect like DeGale!

Prospect?
DeGale needs to target the WBSS winner. Selby should be looking at the likes of Warrington, Quigg, Frampton or trying to unify.

Re: Selby and DeGale fighting on BT sport Dec 9th promoted by Frank Warren
Watching the press conference DeGale (several times) made it clear he hasn't signed with Warren it's just a one fight deal. He is firmly with the god Al Hamon who got this fight for him and will fight whomever and wherever Al says next (could be Frank/Eddie or the States). He backed up exactly what Hearn said too - he wants an "easy" fight, "three or four rounds," as he's been matched so tough in his last few. Hearn said DeGale wanted too much money for the class of opponent he was demanding. DeGale said Hearn was being a tight bastard. Frank said Hearn is a tight bastard too, he should have done his dough on DeGale. Eddie said that's why he's loaded.
Selby-Warrington is a done deal with Frampton getting the winner (obviously). Makes sense (obvious).
Yarde is fighting Nikola Sjekloca who took C.Smith, Abraham and Stieglitz the distance.

Re: Selby and DeGale fighting on BT sport Dec 9th promoted by Frank Warren
I wonder how much BT pump into these Warren events.?
I mean the Copper Box arena AGAIN ffs.
It's crazy that someone like Degale is fighting in such a small venue.
Warren has some quality young fighters but they're all a few years away from going for world titles.
BT/Warren need to invest massively if they wanna be serious rivals to Sky/Matchroom.
IF Fury does come back they should go all out and contract him up as their spearhead fighter.
Like him or hate him Fury is the only fighter who has cross over status with Joe Public and he's worked with Warren before.

Re: Selby and DeGale fighting on BT sport Dec 9th promoted by Frank Warren
Hearn and Sky have a mutual contract with each other that keeps others out. No one can match them cunts.

Fury doesn't have crossover status, smash. His rematch with Wlad was binned because they couldn't sell any tickets. Fury is a boxing fans cult hero, crossover stars are on BBC/ITV saturday night talk/game shows.
Fury has NEVER headlined a major show in the UK. The mainstream will not touch racist/sexist/homophobes, hence why Joshua/Haye/Eubank Jr play the squeaky clean PC card off to a tee and are the most popular fighters in the UK by miles (it helps they're exciting to watch, of course :D)

Re: Selby and DeGale fighting on BT sport Dec 9th promoted by Frank Warren
I know he'll never be a media friendly tv star but
.. I mean more.... a lot of people who are non fight fans know exactly who he is but for all the wrong reasons due to his outbursts, which is why he'll never end up on gameshows etc.
I do see him as one man who will beat Joshua and Wilder and fairly easily.
BT would be insane not to back, promote, Hype and televise that journey.
A tip top and Fit Fury is a nightmare for everyone in the division and will clean up IF he does come back.

and this is all on the strength of one night in Dusseldorf , where one guy averaged 4 punches a round and the other guy 7 punches a round ?

Forget how many punches were thrown, Fury won against the fighter AJ was knocked down by and nearly lost.
Fury has been on mainstream TV channel 5 and is very well known without even trying and mainly for the wrong reasons.
Fury is at least 18 months away from fighting AJ.

Re: Selby and DeGale fighting on BT sport Dec 9th promoted by Frank Warren
Makes no difference what Furys punch output is because with his size, height and reach advantages plus his awkward fucked up style he's a nightmare opponent. Not saying it's pretty to watch but it does more than enough to fuck with his opponents head and Nick the rounds.
I actually think he's completely nullify then start to you with AJ within a few rounds.

Tyson Fury put this on his twitter.
Thanks to the BBBOC for giving me the green light to box in 2018.👍🏻👍🏻

He's just asked Donald Trump to walk him out to the ring if he ends up fighting AJ

He's known for all the wrong reasons which is why he'll never be a crossover star, that's what i'm saying. You don't fill stadiums with 50,000 nerd/hardcore boxing fans. Obviously none of that matters if he fights Joshua - it will be huge regardless. But to the general public he's a nasty racist/sexist/homophobe drug cheat or a clown.
When Fury comes back i'm sure all the TV companies will be interested - ITV PPV? YouTube PPV?

Re: Selby and DeGale fighting on BT sport Dec 9th promoted by Frank Warren
I don't doubt Fury will return at some point, I doubt he'll ever be a threat again. I'd love him to prove me wrong. The first step is getting that license, then a return fight. If he can hold things together that long he may have a chance at getting back in the mix.
