ANTHONY YIGIT (20-0-1, 7 KOs) and his opponent Joe Hughes (15-2-1, 6 KOs) face one another for the European super-lightweight championship at the Leicester Arena in Leicester.
Yigit, from Stockholm, Sweden, will be making a second defence of the EBU strap he claimed with a unanimous points victory over former British champion Lenny Daws and then retained in a historic hometown bout with Sandor Martin.
Watched Kyle Walker keep his unbeaten record and he is from Wolverhampton

Hughes does well in the 2nd with good left hooks landing.
3rd round close, Yiget landed better shots 2-1 to him
Very little to choose from another close round. Hughes won 4th with hurtful left hooks.
Yiget wins 5th round with dominate display of fast hands, skill and bodywork
Yiget moving and wins round easier than he has done previously

Hughes closes distance and wins round for me
Yiget busting up Hughes in the 8th. Classy southpaw shots body and head.
Closer round this time but Yiget wins it by landing better shots.
Hughes giving a good effort. Yigit turning it up a gear.
Yiget controlling the fight now and should cruise to victory. Hughes looks lost and run out of ideas.

Hughes must go forward and attack not box on his back foot. He must be tired.

Yiget throwing loads of punches and could have stopped Hughes if he had power.

Just a bit more on this, the dude suffers from some kind of Erbs Palsy, his right arm is 3 inches shorter than the left.Quote:

I only watched the first few rounds and whilst Hughes deserves massive props for getting himself into a European title fight it struggled to hold my attention, he has to fight exclusively with the left hand.
If it wasn't for the interest factor of his weird right arm anyone would have just looked at it and thought he isn't very good, it might be harsh but from what I saw the fight wasn't very good.
Again though fair play to the dude.
Hughes did well at the start but because of what you described has to fight non-stop for 12 rounds against the top opposition to win. He gave a good account of himself and did well not to get stopped at the end of the fight.
Yes its remarkable. Joe Hughes did well against Catteral and unlucky not to get nod over Nurse. With his disability this is an unbelievable achievement. How good could he have been if fighting on a level playing field?Quote:
