HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Triple header running up against with massive Lomenchenko and Rigo showdown tonight. Like to see Trevin Farmer grab a vacant title vs Kenichi Ogawa 22-1 (17) in what should be good action. Orlando Salido v Miguel Roman has makings of a shoot out. Francisco Vargas back from brutal losing effort looking for a win v Stephen Smith. Odd start time at 9:20 and sure to delay some as Loma v Rigo main event starts.
Ironic though..these days the HBO card playing 2nd fiddle and back burner to ESPN card ;D. Promotion and network landscape of the sport is certainly changing.

Will be watching this. 9.20 pt is actually the starry time is it. I think that is the weird HBO West Coast delay they give me... Don't ha e superchannel for lomachenko...
Farmer's cross eyes are worrying... My favourite Mongolian nicknamed midget lost already off air

Farmer off surgery and being shot a couple times so I'll give a pass for eye in back of his head. LOve his boxing. Didn't see Shafikov losing that.
For some reason picked Smith to beat Vargas here, no idea why really. Someone will cut up surely.

Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Smith wont last long fighting this fight
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Good fight. Smith having to scrunch his toes
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Smith wont stop holding now.

Trying to out Vargas Vargas better 4th. Ref and Harold Lederman no fan though ;D.
Salido and Roman main event as 10 rounder???. Ok then.

Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Ear hanging off. Fuck me.
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Jebus fook..what happened to his ear. Hard luck way to lose getting your ear head butted off???.
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Farmer really sharpshooting Ogawa over 4. Has a subtle confidence about him top notch boxer. Maybe Gervonta Davis will be tempted to come back and vie the title he quit on.
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Ogawa finds some life in 7th and backs Farmer hard, good shot. Says his legs are tired. Like to see Farmer sit down on something behind that low posture jab with Ogawa straight on and high up.
Great corner strategy to Ogawa.."Don't worry about his punches don't worry about his punches" ;D.
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Trainer of Farmer just made Teddy Atlas look like a choir boy and berates Farmer full between rounds in corner for giving 8th round away. Do think he has let Ogawa back in juuuust a bit and still really outclassing him.
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
If Ogawa had a little more pop, another hard-as-nails Japanese fella, they certainly don't do quit
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
HBO needs to really stop dropping the Whitaker references every minute of a round.
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Sky keep going with Herol Graham

If only! ;D. Ponds lakes and oceans can never separate a push. Just want to see more of a sit down on other side counter by Farmer. Good controlled showing though to grab his trinket.

Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
116-112 Ogawa...116-112 Farmer...115-113 Ogawa win...well shit. That was garbage. He certainly boxed well enough from rounds I saw, missed 3 total. Ogawa was chasing a speeding car and running into bumpers all night.
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Whoaaa!!!!!
I backed Ogawa at 9/1 in the week. What a fucking result!!! ;D
God bless America.

Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Salido looks a bit pudgy, Roman with very forceful early start. Dang ref 1 minute in and already warning Salido to keep them up?
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Woah and Salido gets round back strong combos last 30 seconds. Roman sags badly from right hand
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Salido showing that warriors craft majority 2nd, goes to ropes, taps gloves and waits counters and pushed Roman back. Huge right lands flush and backs Salido. replay Salido caught some of that on glove.
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Salido really shifting gears now and digging body. Roman giving ground straight back early 4th.
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Roman drops him as Salido was having solid round..almost looked slip? Roman is going to have to stay there now, steady himself. Face of Salido getting lumpy and bumpy
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Nope no slip. Short hard straight right puts Salido flat on his arse there. Shocker ;D
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Better body work Salido 5th and Roman with hooks. Tough round, Salido out fast in 6th. Just looks the more confident capable puncher.
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Roman complains a couple low blows that were obvious by Salido and Roman definitely in a hole now. Guy is taking subtle constant damage but still coming.
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Salido is a real fighter, not like Lomachenko.
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
edge 7th to Roman with Salido pinned in corner majority round and hooks getting through.
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Salido hurt on that KD! Roman really pouring it on.
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Unbelivable round. Salido not getting up. Finishes the round winging
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Pretty brutal finish by Roman. He tore into tired worn Salido and broke him down. Impressive turn around!
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Salido calls it a career. Have to take that with circumstances but straight forward interview from the chest. Have to love these two guys with double digit losses getting career moments on the main event mic. Good shit. quality scrap there
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Great fight, lived up to expectations. Roman relentless. Two guys with a 100 losses serve up fight of the night by a long way
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
What a strange decision :S..... Farmers trainer trains sosa too, who also just had a strange decision, maybe he upset someone... Should have been a pretty easy win for farmer. Two old guys had it for the jap, young guy had it the right way.
At least the bad decision gave Kellerman a reason to ramble about Whittaker..... Again. Seems to make him happy..
Farmer is pretty handy

He may be one of the last great warriors we will ever see in the ring.

Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Got to love Salido he gave us some great fights i mean i would of never guessed this guy would make JML become damaged goods not to mentions giving other guys the roughest fights they have ever been in. I hope he has enough money to live his life well because i been a fan for some time and have always been entertained by the guy i wish him the best. It is crazy how long he has been fighting now the years seem to be going by faster every time i look at the calendar.
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
It was a fantastic fight and Salido can be proud of his effort. Fight of the year?
-
Re: HBO Salido v Cruz & Farmer v Ogawa
Shortest lived retirement in quite a long time? Looks like Salido was caught up in the moment and saw the bills on the table when he got home so says he'll fight on. Blames the weight and camp etc. Wanna bet they line up Roman rematch early 2018. Never can figure out why commentators even ask the whats next aka the retirement question after long time battlers like Salido come out of wars brimming with emotion. Hopefully he plays it smart and doesn't jump at a short term money grab immediately because in his words he did look at times 'an old fighter', though as we have all seen one whos heart will outrun his body.
