Vitali Klitschko was never put down and Hagler only once which was dubious (slip) Holyfield had a cracking chin but was put down 3 times i think.

Eubanks Snr had a great chin took the bombs of Benn and was only down on a slip
Watson put him down fair and square so did Calzaghe
Joe's was a flash knockdown and Watson beat him up for 11 brutal rounds and that was near exhaustion.Quote:

Hagler deserves a spot over Toney for sure. Toney was down and visibly hurt at middleweight.

Toney I don't know. Was rocked and dropped at middle, cruiser and Fat Peter dropped him with a jab. To me his mastery was his defense and doesn't fit to site his chin. Marion Wilson (what's the betting he read that on here back in the day? Britkid?) was docked points for holding in every other fight, the ultimate spoiler. These days I think expert survivors/journeymen shouldn't count nor expert defence minded fighters like Toney and Hopkins.
I also agree the quickness of recovery from getting knocked down/briefly buzzed indicates a granite beard. The right hand's Froch took from Groves after momentarily being put to sleep was beyond normal.
McCall will always be my no.1 (along with Wayne McCullough), that funker let Lennox blast him flush in the mush with right hands and NOTHING happened. Nothing. Not even a recognition of the clump.

Agree, styles as well make it a lot more interesting. That journey man they have listed was probably there to survive most of his fights. If you are a good fighter if you are just there to survive more often then not you will but you wont win the fights. I think Holyfield and Toney are remarkable as they moved up and fought big punchers, particularly Holyfield as he was there to fight.
