Mayweather v McGregor 2
Floyd Mayweather has hinted at a possible rematch with UFC star Conor McGregor.
The multiple world champion came out of retirement in 2017 for a fight against McGregor in Las Vegas, where he beat the Irishman in the boxing ring with a tenth round stoppage.
After McGregor stepped out of his natural environment to fight the Michigan-native, it now appears that Mayweather might do the same.
In what was obviously a paid promotion for Paddy Power, the 40-year-old says:
““2018. Floyd Money Mayweather. MMA. What are the odds?””
Equally, it seems almost as possible the whole thing is a shameless marketing gimmick, much in-keeping with the tone of the first fight.
McGregor hasn’t been in the octagon himself in over 13 months now, with his last appearance being against Eddie Alvarez in October 2016. Many UFC pundits had been seeing his next move as a deciding fight against Nate Diaz, with whom he had two much publicised meetings with in 2016.
It seems we must now wait to see if this total farce rears its ugly head once more.

No chance Floyd fights using MMA rules, unless that billion dollar price tag is dangled.

Re: Mayweather v McGregor 2
Or he is broke and owes taxes.

Re: Mayweather v McGregor 2
He shouldn't take taxis if he can't afford them! What's wrong with the bus?
-
Re: Mayweather v McGregor 2
Paddy power are paying him millions already..it will never happen.
UFC have not got enough money to attract Floyd to MMA.
It's over..no more Floyd..let's find the next superstar.

You can't help yourself can you? A slow week on Saddo, and you think "I know, I'll dredge up another bullshit Floyd thread!"

Re: Mayweather v McGregor 2
On one hand, it’s unlike Floyd to completely lie about something like this. He generally goes through with something when he says he’s going too. On the other hand, maybe he is just so starving for the spotlight again that he will say anything to get publicity.
And I knew that Master would be excited for this. He is such a closet Mayweather fan. He is like that little boy who is mean to girls because he likes them.

It will be stage managed, whereby McGregor will take it easy on him & maybe allow Floyd to foul out, or he ends it with a tame choke hold or similar.
Like you have said, there's no way Mayweather will partake in a real MMA fight against any top MMA fighter.

Re: Mayweather v McGregor 2
No interest whatsoever in a possible 2nd shitfest.
The first was bad enough but a 2nd is bad for Boxing as far as I'm concerned.
Wouldn't even bother to watch it.

Re: Mayweather v McGregor 2
For the record, I do not deliberately find these Floyd posts, he makes sure that I am made aware of them by going out and publicising them.
I take no pleasure in illustrating what an attention seeking whore little Floyd is and all his fans are.

Re: Mayweather v McGregor 2
I would love to see Floyd get into the octagon. It is much more interesting than an MMA fighter getting into a boxing ring. The main problem is that Floyd is so old.

Re: Mayweather v McGregor 2
Don't be sheep. No shit show II, no way no how. Master get back to Font threads ffs ;D.

I think he's busy prepping his winter duvet tog thread mate 😂

Re: Mayweather v McGregor 2
Honestly I think it will happen. Golden boy is clearly a competitor and he tried to mess up Canelo vs GGG #'s before, hes going to do it again. Plus, its following the same marketing plan as the last fight.
Mayweather said itll happen, Dana says it wont, Connor teases with boxing gear and "I am boxing" posts. Boom, 3 months out fight is announced.
Here we have Dana saying its serious talks, Mayweather saying it isnt, then Maywaether teasing and some back and forth shit talking between Floyd and Connor, give it a month, it'll also be announced.

Im telling you, this is the EXACT same marketing plan in reverse, like when Conor was teasing people with boxing posts. Right around the time of GGG vs Canelo, its going to happen.

No way will Floyd step in an MAMA ring , he would not last 30 seconds.

That doesnt mean he wont step in. Plus if he fights Connor, I think Connor will actually be willing and able to stand with him. Any one else goes to the ground and finishes the fight quick. With Connor, we might actually see a fight for a round or two. Plus Mayweather punches with MMA gloves can be scary.

Floyd has weak hands which is why he does not legally stop top fighters anymore. Floyd would never risk it, if he did then I would prefer he faced GGG so he could rip him to bits.

Re: Mayweather v McGregor 2
I honestly think it will happen and am somewhat surprised that people aren’t more excited. Floyd is old yes, but if Floyd really does train and gets good take down defense he could possibly pull off an upset. I think him going to UFC is much less a circus show than Conor coming to boxing.

MMA is mixed martial arts. People come from all fighting styles to compete. Boxing is a fighting style. That’s not weird. Boxing is a specific fighting style. Someone who is a great MMA fighter but relies on ground fighting would have no chance in boxing. So why is it so ridiculous for a boxer to try and fight in a mixed martial arts competition?

Floyd is old, multi millionaire, risk averse and would not want to be humiliated which is what would happen.

I don't see it happening, although 1 billion dollars for 30 seconds and his 50-0 record is safe? Hmmm

If he could actually make a billion dollars I think that Floyd suffers a loss with ease and say that MMA is not his sport and that he is old but would have dominated if he were younger.

He will not risk the humiliation but I hope it happens.

you hope it happens because you can't live without writing about your bum chum.
Why don't we all stop fucking talking about it, take no notice of it and maybe it'll never happen.
I have no problem with Sportsmen earning big bucks, but not just Floyd , all sports are getting out of hand. Individuals earning an amount similar to the national debt of a small country is fucking obscene, and its people like you that bang on incessantly about it that make it relevant and then it happens.
Now, can we please move this thread to one of the other boards please?

It is lovely that you think I have that much power but really I want him against Golovkin but he will never go there.

If I had such power then why does Floyd not fight triple G, which is what I really want?

Seeing as this is technically an MMA thread, please can we move it to the MMA section? Or if you insist on continually posting about Floyd, can we make up a new section? Either:
1. A Floyd section
2. A "who gives a fuck " section.
