OSCAR - MAYORGA ; Who Will Win ?

I'm not a Mayorga fan. He's loud, abrasive and somewhat limited in his
ability. He is not nearly as polished as Oscar. Part of me wants to see De
La Hoya give Mayorga a beating worse then Tito did. One thing Mayorga can do
is punch. He is also strong and has an awkward, wild swinging style. For a
controlled boxer like Oscar, Mayorga's unpredictability could cause him some
problems. The other part of me would like to see Oscar get flattened and
wipe that arrogant, smug smile off his face. De La Hoya looks very focused
for this fight. He also envisions a few more mega paydays if he wins. Plus I
really think that he strongly dislikes Mayorga. I've got to go with Oscar
but it could be interesting. I am really looking forward to this one.

You have to remember, Tito hits alot harder than most people. Oscar hits hard, but not like Tito. Oscar can win this fight easy IMO, if he boxes and goes to the body{I think the biggest factor in the fight}, and wears Mayorga down. If he tries to slud with Mayorga like Tito did, he'll get caught.

I picked Mayorga to beat Trinidad because I thought that Tito's long layoff of well over 2 years would leave him rusty and with a deteriorated sense of danger and I thought that Mayorga's great chin would hold up under Trinidad's attack. I was dead wrong about that fight, and I won't make the same mistake twice. Mayorga is not a skilled boxer and his overall technique is suspect. He's also got a serious machismo attitude about being able to withstand punishment in the ring, which is a very foolish attitude to have in boxing. He's very strong but strength alone is more for wrestling than boxing.

De La Hoya will box him silly and knock him out in the later rounds similar to what Trinidad did. Mayorga might not win a round.

Mayorga by stoppage wait and see. Mayorga is hungry and his back is against the wall. Oscar hasn't won a fight in over 2 years and has nothing left to prove. He's going down.

I would be shocked if Mayorga even made this one a good fight.. His only chance is to land something huge early, but DLH has never been caught like that and hurt... And who is MAyorga compared to endless fighters that he has already beaten. Rusty or not, hungry or not, DLH simply posseses too much skill for Mayorga, and he is just as big as him with longer reach and arguably as much power at the weight. I dont think Mayorga has a chance to win 1 round.

Mayorga's gonna KO ODLH in the 6th. Sorry yall, ODLH is getting KTFO.

I don't know if he'll shock the world, but love him or hate him, he usually makes exciting fights. Even though I'm a Tito fan, I loved seeing Mayorga-Tito. And, I give props to Mayorga for coming up in weight, to challenge one of the games hardest hitters ever.

Yes, but the baddest man on the planet resembled Mayorga a lot more than Oscar. ;)

I hope Mayorga wins. I can't stand Oscar. I just don't know if he has the tools to get the job done.

To answer the post topic, who cares? Its a joke that Oscar's fighting this guy. He says he's only fighting twice more, and he chooses Mayorga for one of those fights? Why not a Vargas or Tito rematch. This mismatch is a joke, and only designed to make Oscar look good going into this falls PBF showdown.

Honestly, I will not even order this fight. I'll read the results off the internet.

Floyd's plan against Mayorga will be to have De La Hoya work the left hooks to mayorga's body and wear him down.

Nothing wrong with a warm-up for PBF if you haven't been fighting for a while.

Yes, I was responding to another post ... but this does make it interesting like a soap, doesn't it.

Bababooey, it wasn't the most serious of my posts, about DLH warming up for PBF, just being flippant. So then the alternative is that this is an unworthy mismatch and DLH should really be fighting Vargas again (didn't he already prove himself there? I saw him beat Vargas pretty convincingly; TKO 11) or Tito, whom DLH also beat though he gave the last round away. Had he not done that he might have won by 1 point on two cards and even on a third, instead of even on one, down 2 on one, down 1 on one.

Yeah, DLH - Tito and then DLH - PBF would be preferable. No warm up needed. If there are only two fights left for Oscar, then why use one of them to school Mayorga?

PBF ain't fighting DLH, PBF ain't stupid and is a business man. DLH is trained by the guy that created Floyd Mayweather Jr. And if I know someone like Floyd Sr. He created Floyd with one flaw only he'd be able to exploit. He built it within Floyd's style. and Floyd doesn't even know it. It's the kind of flaw only Mayweather Sr knows about or sees. And if Mayweather fights DLH, Mayweather will train Oscar in the style to beat his son. PBF ain't stupid! He ain't fighting DLH.

I'm not hyped about this fight.

What "secret" did Mayweather's Dad teach him that only he knows? Thats so stupid. This is not a horror movie where the creator is the only one who can kill his creation. You really think its that easy to beat this kid? Thats's just as stupid as Judah saying this would be his easiest fight.

It's a secret.

It's nonsense, is what it is. When they started, he and his Dad were on the same page. Why then, would he hold back anything from his own son? It makes no sense. Its just them trying to create a back story for the DLH-PBF fight, and they got another sucker to buy it- YOU!

That would make sense if PBF wasnt his son. But he is. I dont see a Dad holding back anything, or teaching a "flaw" to his own son. Thats like preparing for your son to one day revolt against you, and I dont think any Dad has that in the back of his mind. If PBF Sr. were still fighting, THEN it would make sense.
