Don't just say Rocky Marciano for the sake of it..there's bloody loads to choose from.
No Blacks,Mexicans or Puerto Rican or any race with a tan (including GGG)..Italians seem to just get the nod.
Mine has to be JC as he has the great ability to adjust and the Kessler match was pretty damn impressive.
BJS is easily my favourite to watch in this era...

BJS and Groves are both World champions and pure boxers..If they last another 3-5 years without a loss (potential x10 fights) then they will leave a credible legacy behind.
He's not my favourite and he certainly ain't the best but I'm gunna give Katsidis a shout out, he was pure value for money, a proper warrior.

It’s tough so I will have to do new and old. In the modern era, I would say Calzaghe is best. Olden era Greb definitely takes it resume wise, but I’ve obviously never seen him fight. Benny Leonard would be next. If it’s someone I’ve seen a lot of film on, it would be Marciano.

Greb is not only the best white boxer, he may be the greatest boxer of all time. He never avoided black boxers, unlike many during his time. He was a middleweight who fought everybody including heavyweights. He was robbed by judges a few times, so his record should be even better. His only real losses came to bigger men.

I used to love Friday Fight Nights on Sky Sports 1 and I'd watch them with my old man when I was at home and not in the pub, one night they showed a young lad called Ricky Hatton, now at the time I wasn't overly educated in boxing but something about this cheeky little Manc caught my eye, it got to the point where when Ricky was fighting my mates would phone me up and say 'we are all out on the piss tonight, are you coming' and I'd have to say 'nah I can't Ricky Hatton is fighting' now you need to remember that at this point I was in the pub pretty much 7 days a week so when I said I wasn't going out my mates thought there was something seriously wrong with me that I wasn't telling them about, they couldn't understand it, no one had ever heard of him, they didn't have a fucking clue who I was talking about and they couldn't understand why I would turn down a night of beer and class A's to watch some sweaty little Mancunian.
when he had the fight against Kostya everyone was well on board with him, he may not be the greatest or the best but he is the fucker that got me into boxing in a big way, I got to know all the domestic names because I watched them come through with Ricky when he was on the undercards for the bigger fights.
If it wasn't for Ricky Hatton and Friday Fight Nights I'd probably be dead in a gutter after one too many sessions or even worse I would be so uneducated that I would believe Sky's hype and I'd think that Tony Bellew was the second coming.
Ricky got me into boxing, for that reason alone he wins the prize for me.

I’m keep coming up with more. Gene Tunney should definitely get a mention. Easily the best white LHW ever but one of the greatest HWs too. Tommy Laughran is another great pick.

Have to give Jimmy Wilde a nod. Leonard was masterful. Personal fav and recent has to be Johnny Tapia.
