Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London

Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
Whyte needs to not only put on a show but be in a good fight, his last few fights have been snooze fests against opponents who looked like they just came for a run around and a payday but i think Browne will fight the same as Chisora did so this should be a belter!
Both will look to decapitate the other from the off so i reckon this'll be a war that won't go the distance and it's a tough one to pick, maybe Browne stops him early?
Dunno :-\
-
Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
Should be good action. I would like for Whyte to come in and work hard and chip away at Browne stopping him in the mid to late rounds. He needs rounds and he needs to be effective with his punches and defense. A Browne win could see him maybe get the loser of AJ-Parker especially if it's Parker who loses.
-
Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
There's no guarantee that Aj v Wilder happens this year so depending on how long Eddie Hearn wants to "Build" AJ v Wilder $$$$$$, the winner could be in line for Wilder next or Parker (if AJ beats him).
I actually think AJ will fight in the US next (and not against Wilder) to build his profile ;)
Hope Whyte wins this but have a feeling Browne will club him to the floor before midway ;D
-
Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
I don't think AJ is going to be bigger in the US. Deontay Wilder isn't all that big and he's only fought in the US. Wilder-AJ needs to happen in England just because the fight fans are most up for it there.
There's no telling who the next big thing will be for American boxing. There's a number of fighters who have/do deserve more attention but for whatever reason they're not getting it at the moment. It's like Floyd doesn't want to pass the torch, De la Hoya didn't want to, Hopkins didn't want to, RJJ didn't want to, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield didn't want to, it's a shame. Now there is also the idea that these fighters need to seize the opportunity they have as young fighters get on TV, get some deals to sell products.....I guess they really do need promoters, maybe Wilder could have used a Don King to build him up, but who knows. For whatever reason the hype isn't there, the hype should have been there 5 years ago with these guys, but whatever.
Now don't get me wrong, if Wilder-AJ happens in Vegas or NYC it would get sold out, but the British fans travel really well so I'd still almost suspect AJ to have the crowd rooting for him wherever he goes. Not that it'll bother Wilder.

Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
I haven't seen Browne since before the whole drug thing so I can't confidently say who I fancy to win, I'll be watching it though, I don't think it needs saying that I'd prefer Whyte v Del Boy performance rather than Whyte v Hellenius performance

Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
This has all the makings of a 12 round bar room brawl between a couple of plodders. I’ll be honest, the only reason I’m picking Whyte is because I reckon the game is a bit crooked and I reckon Browne is paid good money to lose .
Neither of them are all that.
-
Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
Seems to be genuine dislike between the two as well. A nice heavyweight grudge match. I think it'll be a tear up as long as it lasts. It's a tough fight to pick. Leaning towards Browne mainly due to a perceived power edge.
-
Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
This is only Brownes 3rd fight in nearly 3 years so he's nowhere near as active and ring sharp as Whyte currently is and Dillians had a lot of rounds in his last few fights.
Wonder if inactivity and Brownes age will catch up with him on the night?

Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
Didn't realise Dominic Littlewood was getting a shot at Dillian Whyte.
hope he can win this.

Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
If Whyte has any plans on winning a rematch with Joshua or beating Wilder he really ought to be beating fuck out of Browne. Browne, even at his 'tainted meat' best is horse shit.

Browne just reminds me of a 1980's nightclub bouncer, Whyte don't seem to have that real high end power shot at Heavyweight i think, yeah he can wobble anyone but the one punch KO power isn't in him.
-
Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
Browne does not have the athleticism to beat Whyte. Whyte slightly has more skill and maybe more endurance. Browne has a good punch, but Whyte can take a good punch.
Browne tires out in the mid to late rounds, depending on how hard Whyte pushes it. TKO by 10.

Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
Is Jon Banks still training Whyte? I hope Banks continues on as a trainer as boxing needs good young trainers. I mean he wasn't all that bad of a fighter all things considered, he learned from Manny Steward, there's certainly worse guys to learn from.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still be watching it , cos it’s not ppv.

Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
If Browne doesn't get cut and he can take a shot , then i think he can win by KO . Chisora who is not a big puncher wobbled Whyte , Browne will not let him off the hook.

Ricky Hatton must have made the most speculative pension investment ever by backing this clown, however I won't be upset if he gets him a world title shot and retires from management before he goes skint.

Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
Don't care who wins really, I just hope after all the supposed bad blood (twitter beef) that they both bring it in the ring. If they are both still there after 6 rounds it may be a case of whoever lands a big shot first wins.

Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
Whyte just looks crazy, so much so I will not say a bad word about him on the internet even though I am a few thousand km's away :S old broony might be right though and dillian the villiain (:S) might have trouble controlling himself and that might cost him.... But Whyte is younger and not much smaller and broony is getting old now so I think the extra energy rush will benefit Whyte and get him the win.
I liked the way Browne came across in the weird interview thing, seems like a cool guy, I hope he wins

I agree , Browne does look like a guy who fell in an ink well , but he came across as a good bloke. I think this is an interesting fight.

Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
Browne knows there's little chance of him winning a decision, he's hoping to draw Whyte into a shootout so he has opportunities to land his shots.

This new Dillian Whyte interview is a great read :cool:
Boxing, prison or death? Dillian Whyte was shot, stabbed and kidnapped... now he is on the verge of fighting for the heavyweight world title after finally escaping a childhood of poverty

Just download a free VPN from an app store, i use mine all the time so can watch any content from anywhere on the planet, Are HBO not showing it to Hype the fight then?

Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
No I don't see a thing video wise from them or the usual semi build episode they do on main channel. Main site has small write up but mainly hype on Jacobs and Canelo. Off course. At least they are airing it live.

Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
In their last four fights, Whyte has averaged 30 more punches per round than Browne, however, Browne breaks the average punches landed for big lumps whereas Whyte doesn't. So for a big slow as molasses plodder, when Browne does throw they count.
Whyte has never stopped anyone from 16 sparkos past the 6th round (Ian Lewison quit on his stool), however, Browne has stopped 7-of-22 from the 5th round onwards, including Chagaev when he was getting his head boxed off.
6 of Whyte's last 7 have gone at least 6 rounds. Browne has been down early a few times but got up to win (obviously).
Browne is 10/1 to win in rounds 7-12.

Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
Good stat finding @Fenster 😎
Browne is definitely the bigger hitter of the two and I've said before about Dillian not having that massive 1 punch KO shot.
Whyte has a decent enough chin though so I'm expecting a really good fight here, I'm hoping we get a Lyle v Foreman style tear up!
Whyte looks in great shape and slimmer than I've ever seen him before so maybe he'll try and ware Browne down in the latter rounds.
Huge fight for both men and I'm looking forward to this one.

Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
Pretty sure Whyte is coming in lighter than normal because he knows he has to move all night, as my little stats showed, Browne gets late stoppages not just because he retains power through the fight but as his opponents fade they can't move and dodge his clubbing boulders. He doesn't have explosvive lights-out power like Wilder, he literally clubs cunts unconscious through their guard.
If Whyte gets into a row like he did with Del Boy he's kipping.
All the American fans seeing these for the first time will be saying they're "garbage" and Wilder will kill them. That's a fact. ;D

Whyte was throwing the kitchen sink and all the plumbing at Del Boy and couldn't shift him whereas Del Boy very nearly stopped him a few times during that fight.
Browne clearly hits harder than Chisora so on paper should bang Whyte out on Saturday, Props for Whyte for taking this though at a crucial time in his career.
If Whyte loses then he loses BIG and probably blows his title shot.
AJ - 100% KO
Wilder - 98% KO
Browne - 88% KO
Whyte - 70% KO

Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
Whytes left hook nearly knocked out AJ and that is good enough for me to say he carries enough power to beat Browne.
Looking forward to this match.

No he didn't , Joshua ploughed forward like a novice was stopped in his tracks and was stunned at best , he wasn't almost knocked out , he didn't even take a count.

Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
Has anyone seen Dereck Chisora's opponent? now shame on me for being superficial, and I really hope he's got something about him. But he literally looks like they just dragged him out of the Kebab shop, or maybe even his Taxi because it looks like he left his Bluetooth Headset in.
This has all the makings of a disgraceful match up. Even Chisora couldn't take him seriously. they started the stare down, and after about 5 seconds , Chisora just thought "do you know what ? this is fucking ludicrous! nobody's falling for this!" he gives him a gentle handshake and walks off.
Sky and Eddie Hearn have got the nerve to charge people to watch this!

Re: Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne - 24/3/18 - O2 London
Joshua was buzzed for a few seconds but that's about it, it was the 3 lefts to the body that followed that slowed him down for a few rounds.
Whyte hasn't got that 1 Punch KO power
I thought Whyte was looking slimmer over the last few days but both came in Heavy earlier
Whyte (18st 2lbs 2oz)
Browne (18st 11lbs 22oz)
