I am 100% convinced that MacGregor's goal was to play in Khabib's head and to make the future promotion of their potential upcoming fight even bigger. However, he didn't think he'd injure 2 fighters in the process and that they would decide to press charges. I am pretty convinced that the whole episode will cost MacGregor a LOT of money, but that he'll get out of that without doing jail time or being suspended for a long time from fighting.
