Adonis Stevenson vs Badou Jack - Sky Sports/Showtime

ADONIS STEVENSON will make the ninth defence of his WBC light-heavyweight world title against Swedish star Badou Jack in Toronto in the early hours of Sunday morning Stevenson, 40, has held the WBC strap since defeating Chad Dawson in 2013 – and the man nicknamed “Superman” is showing no sign of slowing down any time soon.

The 29-1 fighter has promised another explosive performance this weekend, taking on the challenger seven years his junior.
”If Badou comes in aggressive, this could end very quickly,” Stevenson said.
“You have to step into the ring with me to understand my power. If I connect right just one time, that’s it, lights out.”
But Jack, who has wins over British duo George Groves and Nathan Cleverly, as well as a draw against James DeGale in January last year, is confident of upsetting the odds to become a two-weight world champion.
"To have my fight here in Toronto, and for it to be the biggest fight in the city in 30 years is amazing," Jack said.
"I will become the new WBC Light Heavyweight Champion in his own country, in his backyard."

The bout will take place in Toronto’s Air Canada, with both men expected to make their ring walks at around 10.05pm EDT (3.05am GMT) – although timings are subject to change on the night.

Great matchup. Does Badou jack have the smarts to nullify Stevensons punch.

I reckon he does and tough enough to ride out bad patches of the fight.

I do not know how Adonis has made that many defences when he fights so infrequently. He relies on his powerful left hand but hope Jack can avoid it early and get into a battle of attrition with Stevenson.

Badou Jack's skill and workrate will give Adonis trouble and at his age that may lead to a loss for him hopefully.

I think Jack takes this one. He won't get stopped by an inactive 40 year old. Jack by decision for me.

I forgot about the knock downs Jack has had and was more focused on him getting back up and almost stopping De Gale. I can not see Stevenson survive a barrage like that.

Yea he almost had DeGale. Stevenson's recent opposition definitely haven't prepared him for a warmed up Jack whose turning it up a gear.

Stevenson has clearly got the power to stop Jack and end this early and he needs to, this will be his third fight in nearly 3 years and at 40 years old can he really go into the deep end and fight for 8, 10 or 12 rounds?

I expect Stevenson to come out looking for the KO very early on.

Going with Jack keeping it smarter and has improved. Stevenson has basically been riding the bench in a very thick 175 division. He has a one hit eraser but think Jack has no problem timing him. Should be a doozey.

Split card with Russell vs Diaz. Great example of young contender working his way to number 1 and a champ being held to meet him. WTF is Gary wearing ???.

I'm the reigning and defending Forum Gay Of The Year and I'm sitting here oiled up and naked apart from my black motorcycle boots and you know exactly what I'm doing.
