Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
So he won't fight Bellew because he is too small and would do him some proper damage.
Then takes a fight against someone a lot smaller than Bellew.
Nothing less than we were expecting though really is it.
I'll bet that @ross is somewhere in the world now trying to convince people that this is a live opponent and a victory will prove that Fury is back and better than ever.
I'll let him off for his first fight in 3 years though.

Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
id have rather seen him in with a Heavyweight, there's no way Warren will rush him either. No chance of him risking potentiality tge top boy in tbe division.
I expect back to back gimmes then he needs a decent test third time out.

Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
Would prefer he fight either from the other heavyweight fight on the card!

Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
A 40 yr old cruiserweight named twice. Brilliant. I'll give credit for Fury putting in the work and keeping his nose clean but ways to go. All in on seeing Flanagan beat Hooker.

Hooker was "discovered" while getting kind of roughed up in sparring with Saucedo in Texas. The money guy behind Alex at the time liked him, however, then subsequently had a falling out with my friend that managed Saucedo. The money guy then became the manager of Hooker and got him to a world ranking before they parted ways.

Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
Cunningham put him on his ass.
I can only hope Seferi will put him on his back.

Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
Maybe they are looking to get fury fighting Manuel charr next year and picking up the fake wba title, seferi only loss came against charr... Charr has challengrged fury to a fight before and he will bc looking to get paid before he is finished, which in my opinion will be pretty soon...
As for seferi v fury.... Who cares.

Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
This gimme is fine by me for first time out after his lay off.
-
Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
Shows why Ali, Vital and Leonard were so great, all took on tough guys after roughly 3-4 years out.
Thurman and Fury need their tune ups :p

Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
Just watched highlights of this severity guy getting beat by Manuel charr. I'd have to say he looks even worse than the bums David Haye was beating on Dave.
i can understand a soft touch after a layoff but this cruiserweight won't even give him any rounds and it's not like he can make a statement by beating him quickly. Waste of time fight but there's gotta be a reason he chose someone this bad

Maybe he will choose Bellew next.

Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
The point of a tuneup is to get better. This is just a waste of time.
-
Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
Tyson's a joke, and so's his comeback.

I think the point in this case is just to get him back in the ring for real, then to see if he can fight at all anymore, and, above all, to make sure he doesn't get beat.
-
Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
If he can get 12 rounds out of this, that's all that counts for me.
Can he even get 12 rounds out of this guy though?
-
Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
Don't think any of us thought he would be fighting a live body really did we?
He will be very rusty and who knows what could happen anyway with fury being out so long & piling so much weight on.
As long as he actually builds up the quality of his opponents as he goes then it will be job done.

Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
I get that he wasn’t going to fight a guy that could challenge him but he’ll probably have sparring partners better than this guy. The fight is useless

Good read on Hooker's prep for Flanagan from Michael Woods at Bad Left Hook
https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/OSLD...0828.jpg.0.jpg
Maurice Hooker is now in his third camp with Terence Crawford, and his crew believes that influence, and Hooker’s overall maturation as an athlete, will come together and put him in the best light possible when he travels to England and seeks to gain the vacant WBO 140-pound title against Terry Flanagan.
I chatted with Hooker and his crew, which included trainer Dave Parra and manager Arnie Verbeek, before another workout session in Colorado Springs, where Team Crawford is getting ready for Bud’s June 9 scrap against Jeff Horn in Las Vegas.
“The first camp I was a sparring partner for Terence,” Hooker told me. “Things I’ve picked up from Crawford, I’ve learned to be patient — it’s been a lot of hard work — and to push each other. The way he trains, he trains hard, he’s always going hard, three times a day.”
Hooker (22-0-3; age 28; from Dallas, Texas) thinks that because of the caliber of work he’s getting in this camp, Flanagan (28 years old), in contrast, could be an easier foe than what he’s been dealing with in sparring.
“I’ve faced guys way tougher than him,” Hooker told me ...

Fury looking fast as fuck on the pads (around 6 mins in) why is he wearing hot pants?

Hot pants are for the women fans and Ross.

Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
Tell you what for someone who's 6ft 9" tall and 19 odd stone (coming down from 25 stone) he can move.
He's possibly the most awkward Heavyweight style wise iv'e ever seen, switch hitter, fast jab and that twitchy jerky style and he can just lean all over you if he wants to.
His suspect chin and being put on his ass by a Cruiserweight is what keeps him an unknown quantity because against AJ and Wilder they are gonna land heavy shots on him and it remains to be seen if he can take those Heavy shots from full blown lively young fighters who are of a similar size.
Against either of those two Fury either gets banged out early or he boxes their heads off.
He invited Seferi into the ring yesterday which was strange and to me the whole fight looks pre arranged/scripted ;)

Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
He looks in good nick, good speed and movement.
I saw some of the Sefer stuff yesterday. Maybe it's his way, but I didn't see anything funny or endearing about a bloke who looked like he was coming over for a city break. Being made a mug of by Fury then filming him like some oily fanboy with a smartphone. Have some self respect man.

Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
Has to be the worst display on the pads iv'e ever seen ;D

Is he trained by Don Omega of Boxing 4 Real fame?

Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
we'll find out over next few months if he's still got the skills and desire for the game but I have to say he's surprised me at getting back in shape body wise - never though he'd do it.
I've missed Fury and getting him back at is best would be a massive boost for boxing.
And I'll be rooting for him

Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
He's starting to win the public over left right and centre, he bought 52 people he didn't know a Nandos last night, he sat down to get some food then decided to pay for the entire restaurants meals

I think it's the depression stuff and what he's overcome that people are relating too plus he seems to have stopped the crazy rants that got him into trouble and is much more media friendly.
Tyson Fury v Dillian Whyte is a cracking fight if that could happen in a final eliminator in 2019 ;)

I would agree but the fat fuck should never have got so far out of shape and lost the title in the first place!
The victim complex also pisses me off when he has no one else to blame but himself.
This fight is a formality, lets see how long he stays fit and active this time.

I agree with you, @Master
I was super happy when Fury dethroned Wlad, but wasn't happy about the fight itself, as I thought it was one of the worst HW title fights in history bar none.
Since then he has imploded, and the only thing that's still working 100 percent is his mouth.
He's cut from the David Haye mold, and I'm so happy to see a British heavyweight (AJ) who actually fights more than he talks shit.

I didn't think that he was with Arnie any more, but it is good that he stuck with him.

Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
I can't believe people are paying to watch Fury 'fight' a guy who is 39 years old, a foot shorter and five stone lighter than him ..... a career cruiserweight with a very mediocre record

Fury has been out for so long and will get a pass on this fight but expect him to pick better opposition for his next few fights rather than go missing again.

I think we got Sefer pegged all wrong. Fury swears he's dangerous.

Only just realised this isn't showing on Box Nation, what an absolute cunt Frank Warren is, he said that the BT deal would affect boxnation subscribers.
Fuck that I'm cancelling boxnation after the Crawford fight.

Re: Tyson Fury v Sefer Seferi / Flanagan v Hooker - 9/6/18 BT Sports
They couldn't pay me to watch the fight.... but if Seferi knocks him out I'll buy the DVD.
