Billy Joe Saunders withdraws from Martin Murray fight with injury

Billy Joe Saunders has withdrawn from his WBO world middleweight title defence against fellow Englishman Martin Murray on 23 June with injury.
It is the second time the fight, at London's O2 Arena, has been postponed.
It was moved from March to June, after champion Saunders, 28, injured his hand in training.
"You have your ups in boxing, but last three months have been downs, sorry to Martin and the fans, be back soon," Saunders tweeted on Sunday.
Saunders, unbeaten in 25 fights, would have been making the fourth defence of his crown.
His last fight was against Canadian David Lemieux in December.
Promoter Frank Warren tweeted to say a full statement on the show will be made on Monday.

Murray must be gutted
BJS is so frustrating. A very good boxer, but he always cancels fights and generally doesnât fight too guys in the division.
He has an offer from Canelo who does not want him fighting Murray.
I like BJS but starting to loose patience.
Letâs hope this is true about Canelo as This is getting pathetic.
He might have a genuine injury, he might not. The same last time. Or maybe he does have something lined up with Canelo. Weâll soon find out, but the most important thing to me is that we all know BJS has to stay active to stay fit. All the good work beating Lemieux maybe has all been undone.

He's being torn to shreds on his Twitter account as we speak because 2 hours before he announced his "injury" he posted a tweet calling out GGG again.

Couldnât he have just fought Murray and fought again in September? I doubt the Murray fight would be that strenuous.

Not one to take anything lying down, Saunders replied via an Instagram Live video on Monday, by stating: "I said those things because Tyson Fury spent about ÂŁ90,000 on two training camps but there's a big difference between me and David Haye.
"I make smart decisions, I'm undefeated and you've lost about ten times. I'm at the business end and when there are millions at stake I don't take risks with an injury.
"I will fight anyone, anywhere. If you think I scared of you Martin Murray, I'll be at Tyson Fury's fight on Saturday night, come to see me face to face then."

Martin Murray: Billy Joe Saunders a 'hypocrite' for fight postponement
Martin Murray says Billy Joe Saunders is a "hypocrite" after the WBO middleweight champion pulled out of their world-title bout on 23 June.
Saunders, 28, had already postponed a fight set for 14 April due to a hand problem and now has a hamstring injury.
Murray shared a tweet by Saunders from 2013 where the champion criticises David Haye for pulling out of three consecutive fights with Tyson Fury.
"He's a hypocrite with double standards and an imposter," Murray, 35, said.
"You wouldn't hear the last of it if something like this happened to him and he's just like a typical bully who only fights and tries to intimidate people he knows he can beat."
St Helens fighter Murray said the old tweet and Saunders' consequent abandoned fights 'prove the type of person he is'.
There have been accusations Saunders is holding out to face either Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez or Gennady Golovkin - who holds the other three world titles at middleweight - in what would be a unification bout.
Murray added: "The sooner people realise that he won't fight the likes of Golovkin or Canelo the better. #Fraud"
Despite the cancellation of the main event, the O2 Arena show in London will still go ahead, with fighters from the Frank Warren stable including light-heavyweight Anthony Yarde and heavyweight Daniel Dubois on the card.
Fans can now obtain refunds, though, and on Monday Saunders apologised in a statement for the "inconvenience" his injury has caused.
He said: "I know Martin has put himself through two hard camps now and I am hugely sorry that I've let both him and the fans down and prevented a great fight from happening."
Warren added: "I've seen rumours that Billy isn't injured but he is a fighting man and there's no way he would pull out unless he had to."
Murray has fought for a world title on four occasions, losing three times and drawing once. He had been warm-weather training with the likes of former two-weight world champion Carl Frampton and hopes to secure a new date for what will be the 42nd bout of his career.
Saunders won the world title in December 2015 and has since defended it three times.

Sad Charlo sits waiting because of Canelo who clearly and blatantly ducked him, yet GGG fights the ducker, again. And BJS will probably fight Andrade who dumped his belt to duck Charlo and has done NOTHING in the YEARS since.
