Of course. How long before THIS would happen? DLH wants his cash cow up against Spence ASAP. Why not? It fits the Canelo historical narrative, fighting undersized guys. Spence would have to bloat himself to 160, 'cause Canelo ain't budging. Canelo would then easily hydrate to 180+ and we'd have Canelo-Khan all over again. Doesn't Fishnets know some of us are tired of this circus?
Spence needs to ignore these pricks and deal with the Garcia/Porter winner and build his legacy..x3 fights a year minimum!!
I wouldn’t mind this happening in a few years, but Spence has a ton of other options right now. No reason Spence needs to be outweighed by 30 pounds on fight night at this point of his career.

Everyone recognizes the winner of Spence/Garcia is a PPV regular fighter. Match a PPV fighter with a PPV fighter and sales explode. We’ve known that Canelo doesn’t want Charlo since 154. We know he doesn’t want Jacobs. He won’t want anything to do with Derevyanchenko if he beats Jacobs. So this is really no surprise
Frankly, If Spence beats Garcia I think all his big WW fights become PPVs and all are suddenly easy to make because of that.(except if Porter beats Garcia, his style is so ugly I can’t see how he could be PPV except that him and Spence would mesh to a hell of a fun fight)

What annoys me too is that Canelo has multiple good fights to be made middleweight. Maybe in a few years if he beats a few top guys in the division and Spence moves up a weight class this whole thing would make sense. They both have great options around them.
I have never been a Canelo fan, but I used to respect him a bit more. Now I have lost all respect for him.

Lots of fighters in the past never moved up in weight. Ducking is another matter. But if you feel comfortable at one weight and not the one above it..... what's it to the fans?

GGG has made his career at 160 and never budged. Has taken on all comers, undersized or otherwise. He rarely does the calling out. GGG's the big name, so people call HIM out.
Meanwhile, Canelo has carefully and calculatedly moved around the weights with the skill of a safe cracker. Has fought all sorts of undersized guys..... and when they do, he shows up on fight night 20+ pounds heavier.
He danced around MW with the "marinating" excuse, then brazenly took a fight at 170 with Chavez Jr. Not big enough for 160..... but fought at 170. Go figure.
