Tony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
Anthony Joshua has to be the most manufactured and protected fighter in boxing.
Is best win is against a 41 year old Wladimir Klitschko
I just watched a highlight reel of all twenty one of his knockouts and the first 18 guys in there nobody ever heard of before
Okay Kevin Johnson and Carlos Takam and Joseph Parker
Surely you don't count Charles Martin?
Really poor competition. I mean really poor and had his record padded like the gossamer and fluffy padding under the rear end of an 18th century French princess
He might be something in his own little Arena but the moment he steps out of that and tries to fight abroad you will see who he really is and that is a really overhyped and manufactured and protected fighter.
-
Re: Anthony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
You could say the same for Tyson Fury.
The Whyte win is decent. Parker was an unbeaten title holder.
Nothing special, but the whole division is pretty lacking.

Re: Anthony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
If AJ is a hype job wtf is Wilder then??

AJ, Fury and Wilder all have 1 marquee win. No one has separated themselves from the pack as yet.

well no I did a very careful analysis I'm not exactly a Howard Cosell or a Bernie Madoff or whoever the heck the British guys are but I know a thing or two about boxing and I watch that highlight reel for about 1 hour today over and over and over and Anthony Joshua has very poor flexibility he is an extremely rigid fighter and extremely upright and rigid fighter only slightly better than Frank Bruno in that regard and he is going to get sparked the minute somebody in there is a little bit more snakey and oily and flexible and unorthodox like it just like a guy like Wilder.
I mean seriously Mike Tyson would spark Anthony Joshua in about 2 rounds

Re: Anthony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
Another bloody wind up from someone with too much time on his hands, go out and have a megaburger with double fries or something.

Hey Nug-Nug,
What the hell is a mega Burger? Is that like a triple meat double bacon Whopper from hell?
But you have to admit that Mike Tyson would Sparky-Spark anthony Joshua in two rounds

Nah AJ takes that tat from Mike's face, like a trophy.

Re: Anthony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
oh so you're talking about the Mike Tyson who is well into the Twilight of his career when he got that ridiculous tattoo on his eye. I'm talking about the Mike Tyson from 1985 to 1989 that nobody could touch

Oh you mean prime Tyson? Sorry wasn't stated so went with the present 😉

Re: Anthony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
1987 Tyson..... AJ would be ~rocked~ like a fucking sailboat in a typhoon
-
Re: Anthony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
I hope everyone will forgive AJ for the last year of nonsense when he eventually fights Wilder. All that matters is the fights. When we get them we should let the rest go

Re: Anthony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
I agree with Brock. He is Amir Khan without the fun style or funny way with a phrase. All business and milking the stadiums for what he can get. His biggest win is life and death with a 41 year old who has always been chinny and safety first. It will be very amusing when Wilder batters him down. Unless someone gets there first of course. Wilder won't let him off the hook. He is awkward, odd and is athletic and can let his hands go. Wlad couldn't as he had stamina issues even in his 20's.
-
Re: Anthony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
I am hardly AJ's biggest fan but for people to be calling him out for having only one win on his record is funny.
AJ has had 21 fights and his standout victory was a life and death fight with a 41 year old
Wilder has had 40 fights and his standout victory was a life and death with a 58 year old
The media machine may have caused AJ to stall in the respect that his fights are carefully manufactured to maximise gain and minimise risk but his last 4 or 5 fights have been a world away from Wilder who recently rematched Stiverne.
-
Re: Anthony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
I'm hearing that AJ/ Whyte is all but done for April. Probably an agreement in principle at this stage.
-
Re: Anthony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
Joshua doesnt have to fight outside the UK ever.
Considering the 50Mliiion offer got rejected. Perhaps he'd head to the US for 100million, but it wouldnt be for Wilder if Tyson beats him.

AJ was not born until 1989 so yes that Tyson would win.

Oh that part. meh, argue the toss over how good he is technically all you like, you appear to know what you're talking about ;D
I was more talking about the party line that Joshua is protected, manufactured and so on. You believe that part?
-
Re: Anthony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
AJ needs to get back to knocking people the fuck out.
He'll be fucking angry now he's just had his personalised £150k range rover nicked so hope he takes it out on Povetkins head 😁

Re: Anthony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
@Memphis he was really pampered and his record was really padded for the first 15 fights. Not to say that doesn't happen with a lot of them but it certainly happened in his case.. also in his last outing it was rather lackluster. he's starting to look like Michael Grant or Frank Bruno. Of course he's manufactured.
Memphis face it the United Kingdom is looking for another black Superstar HW CHAMP like Lennox Lewis and they're putting all their eggs in the basket of Anthony Joshua

He's pampered alright, anyone with his credentials and marketability would be wouldn't they?
I think anyone questioning Joshua's record is either mental or has certain obligations. Check any organisations rankings and I'll bet Joshua has beaten more of the top ten than anyone else. Even that organisations current champion ;D
Some of those eggs are already making their way into the basket of the undisputed king of sparring Daniel Dubois. You won't have to go far to find someone who thinks he beats Joshua right now.

Re: Anthony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
Poppycock. he has stopped 20 out of 21 heavyweights put in front of him. He didn't start boxing until he was 18, seven years ago he was serving a community order, the next year he won a gold medal at the Olympics the next year he turned pro. In his 19th pro fight he faced Wlad. Wilder took 32 fights before he fought Stiverne in his 33rd for comparison. 10 years Wilder has been fighting as a pro and who has he faced? Joshua is only 5 years in. He is an easy sell that does not make it Hype. Who exactly has he ducked?
Opponents won't grow an iron chin when Joshua fights out of the UK.

Re: Anthony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
Poppycock & Iron Chins
Eggs in Duboise Basket.....
Frank Bruno 2.0
Sparky-Spark for Tony Joshua
-
Re: Anthony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
I just can't get around the stark contrast in where he and Wilder are/were in 21,22 fights. AJ unifying titles against top 5 heavies and Wilder was hearing boos after ko'ing a guy who was inactive for years and last fought at Lt hvy. He's really already made it in the U.S as its the only thing Wilder and fans talk about. He does need a mean streak though.
-
Re: Anthony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
Deontay Wilder is far more psychologically strong than Tony Joshua. Wilder has already gotten into the head of Tony Joshua. Tony Joshua is freaked out just by the very thought of fighting Wilder. WILDER is an unhinged lunatic kind of like Tyson Fury. You can't beat people like that
-
Re: Anthony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
i can’t believe so many people are chewing on this ! ;D;D;D Joshua isn’t anything special.........but in this era he is! He’s no.1 by a mile and yes Prime Iron Mike would get him out of there in 2, Joshua would probably agree with that.
But when it gets really hilarious is when you say how Britain are looking for another “great Black hope.”
Tell you what, put the 5 best Brit HW’s in against the 5 best US HW’s and see who comes out on top.
Now who’s searching for another hero? And I’m not even fucking British!
-
Re: Anthony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
If you want me to talk about the United States I can do that too but this thread is about Anthony Joshua and the UK
not only is the United States looking for its next great black hope but also its next Great White Hope

Re: Anthony "HYPE" Joshua won't make it outside UK
Wilders legs are the size of AJs forearms, he won't be winning any battle of physicality. He better eat his Wheaties!

And this would be a good thing for boxing how.
This is precisely what's wrong with heavyweight boxing right now. AJ won't cross the Atlantic.... and Wilder balks at leaving Alabama. WTF?!?
Hopefully the Wilder-Fury fight goes through as promised, 'cause it'll at least throw some egg on Team Joshua's face.

Spics, that may be true but remember Tommy Hearns? His legs were literally like pretzels and he speared quite a lot of Fighters right through the chin with that torpedo right hand just like Deonty Wilder

Not to mention their punches are like a spear gun used in spear fishing, which spear their opponents piercing-like right through the Fulcrum of the Chin.
Sparked.
Ain't that the truth.
Fury Sparks Wilder but Wilder Sparks Joshua
