Let's put it to the traditional Saddo's poll. Who won the fight?
Were the judges fair?
Who deserved to win? Or should it have been a draw?
GGG again
Ggg
Draw for me
I voted GGG and scored it 115-113 GGG, but it was close enough to have gone either way.
The fight lived up to the hype for once.
I had it about 8-4 GGG. I thought his jab was better and making the difference early and then in the later rounds he was the one causing damage and still peppering with the jab. Canelo fought hard, did not retreat, and I think did take some of those rounds. I also thought GGG lacked output at times and was maybe struggling with his breathing. Not sure why. However, I think it was a bit like the last fight except he actually rocked Canelo 3 or 4 times.
I was also lucky enough to avoid an HBO broadcast, but apparently Lederman still has his senses.
GGG. Clearly.
116-112 GGG....Why did i know this was going to happen?
Golovkin won 115-113, close but clear, but because he didn't dominate there was no way he was going to get the decision over Alvarez in Las Vegas.
GGG.... but he's got no one to blame but himself on this one. He gave too much ground in the first half of the fight and dug himself a hole. It's Las Vegas, FFS. What was GGG expecting when it went the distance?
Alvarez won. It was close. But it was clear. If you want to pretend like body shots don't count or just don't like Alvarez than I can see the thinking Golovkin won
Canelo he out GGG'd GGG . He came foward and it was a role reversal GGG ran. Canelo made a puncher box . GGG should have went.to the body like his stolen fake moniker Mexican Style. Abel was vague and.stupid as usual.
Canelo won. I watched them read the score cards.
Anyone who thinks GGG was getting the decision should really question their grasp on reality.
Please be reasonable and consider GGG was in Vegas, fighting a Mexican who is promoted by Golden Boy, attempting to break Hopkins' middleweight record, while being Russian in 2018... it's GGG's FAULT really!!!

Punch stats can be found here, golovkin out jabbed alvarez again and alvarez out power punched him again
His countrymen already stole the election and own the president, he hardly has room to cry foul in this instance.
I agree that GGG was again absent when it came to the body. However, unlike Canelo in the first fight who was on the back foot, GGG was doing it in the center of the ring and was landing the jab again and again as well as noticeable uppercuts. That was the big difference. GGG hardly ran, he boxed. Canelo did run in that first fight, but count me the number of times GGG went to the ropes. He didn't at all. He was in the middle outlanding his opponent. He outlanded Alvarez by about 30 punches overall. GGG also came on strong hurting Canelo a number of times.
I was said numerous times before the fight by several people on here, including myself, and it turned out to be true.
If Canelo was still standing at the end of the fight, he was going to get the decision.
I must be living in the upside down.. ...cause i thought canelo won...i a.m shocked at the impression that ggg won
Those stats pretty much go with how I was scoring the fight. That was why I liked Golovkins work early as I actually thought he was controlling the ring with his movement and the constant jabs and occasional combinations. Canelo was missing a lot more. Then later as it became more of a war, I thought GGG was causing more damage. Canelo definitely had his moments, but he was outlanded in 8 of the rounds and in some of those close rounds landed the flashier power punches. It's a shame GGG shows so much respect early, but maybe at 36 he is worried about his stamina. But still he was always far busier than Canelo. 89 punches in round 12 shows his heart.
I don't blame him for not doing an interview. He knows full well about the 'business' now. Many of us suggested to avoid the rematch entirely and suggested he needed a KO. We were not wrong.
You can keep your jabs, I'll take the strong combination of thudding body work with hard power punching all day. So what GGG landed more jabs--that's like comparing HJ's to fucking.
I had it 116-114 to GGG
No fix, just utterly predictable
GGG for me but only by the narrowest of margins.
No complaints re it going other way.
Can’t see how a third would be any different.
Two great fighters. Two great chins.
Will BJS want any part of Canelo? Doubt it.
Canelo probably has sights set elsewhere anyway.
Ggg all night but his name isn't john Smith si he didn't get it
just googled round by round scorecards and first page of results it was all golo victory or draw so yeah don't see how you give that to alvarez, if he was german and his name was schweinsteigerstein or some shit like that and the fight took place in germany hbo would have been crying robbery but alas it is their cash cow
Close fight for sure, these two will always be close but it only moves more in Canelos favour the older GGG gets. I had GGG by a few rounds, it simply came down to the two judges who scored the last round for Canelo essentially giving him the victory with that one round. They were never going to give GGG a fair crack, just a shame as it was a good contest overall. No robbery though.
Over the 24 rounds they've been very evenly matched.
yeah I am going with golovkin got robbed
Were they evenly matched over 24 rounds though. Granted the chins are both granite, but GGG appeared to win in two different ways according to most observers. Now if it was split 50/50 as to who people think won then fine, it was close, but that hasn't been the case. Every poll has GGG winning both fights. Yet somehow these judges are unable to see it. This suggests that boxing has something seriously wrong with it.
I can see how some rounds are close based on what you are looking at/for, but when GGG is unable to ever get the nod. Ever. It suggests that judging is no different to fake news. Everyone knows what they saw.
Golden boy production, golden boy fighter in golden boy city.....
With those three factors in mind, shouldn't Golovkin have been going for the knockout just to be sure?
I had GGG winning 9-3, the rounds were close but the jab was point scoring and damaging. I think GGG was thinking he was outpointing Canelo and just did what he needed to do to win the round. You can not blame GGG for doing what he did which was land the point scoring punches and rounds in the bag.
Whilst the margin was wide for me the rounds were close. If this was a tennis match GGG won 3 sets to nil but all the sets were 7-6.
I had GGG winning again. He landed more punches controlled the fight with his jab and started hurting Canelo towards the end.
however I do think the triple G era is over. At 36 he's getting worse in each fight. Canelos getting better and if "clenelo" is off the peds now then he showed he can stand his ground at 160 and doesn't need to run vs anyone.
if there is a 3rd it shouldn't be in Vegas. Canelo should have atlast 4 losses on his record now but he isn't losing a decision regardless. Charlo should be next. Time for the new blood to take over
