Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
The younger Fury is a man of few words but he knows how formidable a challenge he faces in Pulev, the gnarled 37-year-old hardman who rarely leaves Bulgaria or Germany and who frightens more challengers away than are willing to take him on. The IBF ordered him to fight this eliminator – being televised by Channel 5 – against Dominic Breazeale but the American did not fancy it; talks with Dillian Whyte and Jarrell Miller then broke down, and then up stepped Fury.
As he said on Wednesday before heading for Sofia, “We tried to get straight back out there [after a controversial points loss to Joseph Parker], and the only person who wanted to take the fight at the time was Sam Sexton. We took that one just to get back. And same here, we took the first one. Straight in.”
It is a gamble, no question. Pulev has lost only against Wladimir Klitschko, who stopped him in five rounds four years ago, and has beaten among many quality opponents Samuel Peter, Dereck Chisora, Tony Thompson, Michael Sprott, Alexander Ustinov and Alexander Dimitrenko.
As Fury says: “He’s tough, very experienced. He doesn’t really like to come out of his back garden, so people don’t like to go there. It doesn’t bother me where the fight’s at, or who it’s against. It’s a fight.”
Going to Bulgaria does not daunt Fury; he first visited when he was 14. “We’ve got some close friends over there.
Fury has not had an easy rise, although he insists he has fully recovered from a rare skin disease that threatened to end his career. “I’ve never felt better. It took quite a while to get over it. What happened was I got rid of it and it just took my body a while to get back to where it is now, to get back to full strength. It was a virus that poisoned my system. I was ill all the time.”

Only name I recognize on there is Lorenzo Parra, who used to be an excellent fighter. Just boxreced him, and he’s on a 13 fight losing streak :-\ 40 is Fossil age for little guys generally, he must need money. Sad.

Yea I remember him at 112 years ago.
Dinu needs to step up.
Pulev/ Fury is a tough pick for me. I think Pulev edges it if he has anything left. Fury has been in his best form recently.

FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 we should be celebrating this fact and glad that it is not on a you tube channel.

Youtube streams are great if they're free.

True, Hughie fough Parker on it but it was poorly received. Nothing better than national TV exposure on a mainstream channel.

Weren't they charging for that fight?
There have been a number of free streams lately. It's starting to gain momentum.

Yes it was with a charge which would explain why no one watched it.

Yes the greedy bastards charged for it but only Hearn gets criticism for PPVs even though his undercards are better than most main events (UK).
Unfortunately this will be a stinker.
Pulev wins a decision - 65% agree. Team Fury cry and scream "robbery" because of racism for the gypsy man - 10% agree. 25% think it could have gone either way.
100% agree they never want to see it again.

Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
If Hughie pulls this off (I think he wins on points) then we've got both Furys in the position of challenging for a World title.
Who'd have thought that this time last year?

Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
Start of 3rd round Hughie cut on the eyelid and Pulev targetting it. Fury wins the round more fighting frantic than anything else.
-
Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
Messy 4th round where Pulev got close to Hughie and give it to him.
-
Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
Pulev win 5th with better aggression, Hughie looks lost in there.
-
Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
Hughie throwing desperate right hands to deter Pulev but not landing enough to win these rounds and the 6th.
-
Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
He is not working like the younger man.
-
Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
Pulev pushing and hurting Fury all around the ring in the 7th. Hughie looks like a little lost boy in there.
-
Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
Pulev was hurt with a big right hand in the 8th and Fury should have gone all out to stop him. Wasted chance but Fury wins the round.
-
Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
Pulev back on top in the 9th big with better aggression and cleaner punches.
-
Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
Pulev coming forward in the 10th and attacking Fury who looks tired now. Pulev knocking Fury from one side of the ring to the other.
-
Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
Hughie looking lost and tired in the 11th. He needs a knockout to win the fight. Pulev dominating the round and must be way Infront.
-
Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
Fury too tired to go for the knockout in the last round.
Pulev dominates the last round.
In truth a very poor fight and AJ wipes out Pulev if they fought.
-
Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
Fell like i was watching a different Fighter vs Parker. What happened to Hughie?
That was poor.
-
Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
117-111, 118-112, 115-113 Ud Pulev.

Poor performance from Hughie but do not think he is world class level.

Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
Chisora wearing dark glasses next to Haye who is now his manager. Good interview, is Chisora a born again Christian?
-
Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
HaHa just watching post fight opinions from Chizora and Haye and they shown a clip of one of the undercard fights that i missed.
Some Salty looser throwing punches at his own trainers lol wtf?
-
Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
This is why Jarrell Miller didn't want to fight Pulev in Bulgaria.
-
Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
The decision was a fair one, Kubrat Pulev clearly won the fight.
I thought one card (118-110) was a bit wide and one (115-113) was a bit too close, either 117-111 or 116-112 for Kubrat Pulev is a fair score.
Hughie was disappointingly poor today, he seemed lethargic and lacking the desire to win.
-
Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
Pulev is pretty handy, he really knows how to rough people up and fight right on the borderline of being dirty :S... I though he handled chisroa easily and another good win for him here... He does weird things with his hands though against a big fellow like joshua I think he'll suffer the same fate as he did v wladimir... He seems to love sticking his left arm out and waving it around in small circles.
-
Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
Frankly Fury was terrible he was clueless and Pulev was just a touch better what a crap fight I wasted 36 minutes of my life shit.
-
Re: Kubrat Pulev v Hughie Fury: IBF eliminator FREE-TO-AIR, Channel 5 - 27/10/18
Why don't we stop this nonsense? We oversold Hughie Fury and Pulev is a scared fighter trying to win a title on the cheap. Let us be honest. This IBF eliminator is as next to meaningless as any other fight out there.
Hughie Fury in a title eliminator over Jennings, Ortiz, Miller or even guys like Rivas and Bryant? Really?
Pulev has ducked soooooooo many top quality guys after Wlad put him on his ass. And at that time I had Pulev ranked as the top HW in the world outside of Wlad when they fought- But he ducked Miller, he did not want to fight Ortiz and he also did not want to take on AJ when AJ said "let's do it"..... The guy is a fringe European contender, at best.
