I think it started on ESPN. But he beat Pacquiao and is retired now so why do people still call him a chicken or coward?

I think it’s solely due to his views on quantum mechanics. Talk about cutting corners.....

Floyd never said “No Mas” in his entire career.
50-0 accept it and move on.
Floyd is retired and it will take years for everyone (even Master) to accept his skills in the ring.
Couldn’t careless about about the foolish things he does outside of the ring..not interested in that.
Roach is praying for another payday..never going to happen.
He avoided prime fighters (Williams, Margarito, Forrest), with some he waited until they faded (Pacquiao, Mosley, De La Hoya).
He always demanded home advantage.
He always fought at his most comfortable weight (demanded 147 against men from smaller divisions like Hatton who fought at 140 and JMM who had to move up two weight divisions from 135) yet would never move up from 135 to 140 to face Tszyu, or 130 to 135 to face prime Mosley or De La Hoya, or up one weight division to fight Wright or Forrest).
He's been protected by personal referees (Joe Cortez vs Hatton, Kenny Bayless vs. Maidana).
He fights people from other sports who have never been in a pro boxing match before (McGregor, Nasukawa), demanding boxing rules.
What Freedom said. I would not call him a coward more a fraud.
What I would give to see a peak Leonard, Robinson or Hearns slaughter Floyd at welterweight.
Go look at Mayweathers record and who he's beaten then look at the amount of weight divisions (5) he's done it at.
It's not even fucking debatable - Mayweather is one of the greatest boxers in the history of the sport.

There were fights I would have liked to see Floyd make, and am disappointed those fights never came together. But Floyd is far from a coward.

Um... I was at the fight and he was just noticeably taller. Marquez weighed in at 150 before the fight unofficially, Mayweather at most has come in at 150 for a fight. Mayweather’s size didn’t win him the fight.Quote:

Floyd always liked to fight smaller men, getting them to move up in weight, like the little bantamweight Jesus Chavez who was 1-13 when he fought Floyd.
My opinion but only little men on keyboards call other men in the ring cowards. Now a clown, horses arse or opportunist? Sure, but unless I'm getting punched in the face year after year by pros and doing the work for a living coward is a bit silly.
The top fighters have always called the shots. I’m not saying it’s right, but that’s how it is. The difference is that Floyd wasn’t given everything at the beginning of his career. He did fight who he needed to and called out fighters who didn’t want to fight him. It wasn’t until after the de la Hoya fight that he started demanding more.
Honestly, sugar Ray Robinson threatened to pull out of fights the hour of because he wanted more money. He was as much of a diva as Floyd but since it was so long ago, we just let it go. And Floyd wasn’t like Canelo to where he was just given everything from the start of his career. He worked up to it.
There are guys he could have fought, but I always say that there is nobody that he avoided that I think was that big of deal. The bigger fights he missed I don’t think were his fault.
Mayweather never came in close to weighing at 160 or even 154. Even when he fought at junior middleweight. The last time they showed the weigh pre fight for Floyd was against Ortiz and he was 150. That was 3 years after his Marquez fight. Mayweather weighed similar vs Baldomir(149), Judah(146), and Mitchell(148) as well which I believe are the only other fights they showed his fight night weight. So saying he ever went up to 160 is not only nonsensical but also ineffective. He used speed not strength to beat Marquez. Height did help negate right hands, but he just outboxed Marquez comprehensively. Hatton however did balloon up to 160 vs collazo and started his career 10 pounds north of Floyd. Floyd just obviously didn’t feel like cutting weight, but Marquez and Hatton didn’t cut weight either.Quote:
