Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Jaime Munguia sees action for the first time in 2019, as he puts his WBO junior middleweight title on the line Saturday, Jan. 26 against Takeshi Inoue at the Toyota Center in Houston, live and exclusively on DAZN.
Munguia (31-0, 26 KOs) took the boxing world by storm in 2018 by competing five times — highlighted by his crushing fourth-round TKO of Sadam Ali in May to win the WBO championship. The 22-year-old followed that up with two successful title defenses in wrecking Liam Smith in July and Brandon Cook in September.
Inoue (13-0-1, 7 KOs) ventures outside his home country of Japan for only the second time, having competed in Thailand in September 2016. The 29-year-old earned the right to face Munguia by defeating Yuki Nonaka in April.

Will one of the sport's brightest young stars continue to grow as a fighter or will Inoue be able to rise to the occasion when he battles the toughest opponent of his career?
Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue takes place on Saturday, Jan. 26. The undercard begins at 7 p.m. ET followed by the main card at 9 p.m. Munguia and Inoue are expected to enter the ring around 11:30 p.m.

Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Not familiar with Inoue have to look into it. Had someone try to tell me that Munguia is another Fernando Vargas and I think he meant it as an insult ;D. Aside fro the haircut and Nationality Vargas was 10 times more polished. Munguia is must see tv though, very fan friendly style.

Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
I like Inoue, but this may be a step a little too far at this stage. I do see him winning some rounds tho.

Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Munguia's a human wrecking ball, and at 6 feet tall has the body frame be fighting at middleweight and above. Inoue will last as long as he can avoid the bombs Munguia will be winging from all angles, and then it's goodnight Irene. By the way, Inoue will be severely outweighed at fight time.

Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
George Rincon, a welterweight fighting on the card, is actually named John. When he was an amateur, I was real close to relocating to train him until the hurricane shut down the gym and the place where I was going to work.

Sorry, different Rincon. There are three guys with that surname on the undercard. Crazy.

Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Greynutstools m8 or non m8 wins in 90 seconds, errr he looked alright but the enemy was done in less than a minute from a body shot so I suspect his conditioning was just amateurish, ref stopped it too, so good him.

Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Sergio mora commentating assistant(I don't know his name) claims it's harder to fight a counter puncher rather than some one coming in his face :S.... I assume he speaks from experience...
Argentina lomachenko(:S) fights a Mexican called ortiz, argyle bargy moves around fairly well and it's his 4th pro fight and he's going 10 rounds quite easy v a fairly competent fellow, he's still moving around pretty quick too. They are planning to get him fighting for a world title in his tenth pro fight. .. oh lovely left hook from argy with 90 scones left knocks down Mexican then he jumps on him on restart and ref stops it... good work from old melon.... maybe he can win one of the easier titles soon.
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Some guy called the boxing barber fights another Rincon now.... the boxing barber apparently cut adrien broner hair once..... I hope he losses
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Other Rincon looks very Tall for the weight, good reach too, really good build for boxing I think.
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Tall Rincon wins, he did well but had some problems from the boxing barber and seemed to have a bit of trouble stopping him unleashing his retaliatory combos on him...
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Virgil (not the puppet from thunderbirdS, shame) pounds the opponent, corner doesn't want to stop it, geezer doesn't want to quit he's cut bad so luckily for him the ref stopped him...no Mercante stoppage here.

Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Jesus Rojas v xu can or xu cannot move his head if the commentators are to be believen. .. this fight is for the extradition status of wanzhou men. . If can wins she goes free if the other fellow wins she's extradited to Puerto Rico. .. a strange stipulation but better than it being forbade wbc Baltic title or something.
Can man came out to Chinese rap music, better than french Montana, I approve
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Actually a fairly interesting fight so far at the start of the second round, can can unleash some good flurries, seems to have some power on em too.. Jesus is hitting him to though, Rojas look more solid though so I think he'll outlast the China man. .. I hope chinaman can wins though
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
This fight is sort of ridiculous but fun, xu can really doesn't move his head and he just gets walked around slowly by Rojas but can does a good job of mixing his punches up and down and he's a quick puncher too, I think Rojas is starting to take control but can is still getting good punches on rojas
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Xu can man slowed down a bit in the 4th and rojas did well but he seems more lively in the fifth, I think Rojas is certainly getting the better of things now, he should be able to cruise to victory now hopefully can man land ls something good and rojas maybe tires... can is actually moving around now.
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Rojas really did a good job at the end of the sixth round, can has a bad habit of just standing infront of rojas and Mr rojas was happy to just swing away at his body not everything lands clean at all but that's going to drain the China man. .. can dies come back swinging when he is hit though, he's still whack in rojas but rojas is in control here and could well stop him later on.
Can doesn't seem to speak English, his trainer doesn't speak Chinese so there is some weird coaching by numbers in the corner:S
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Both of them too it a bit easier in the 8th round but start of the ninth he's back on the attack.. good fight. 246-246 on compubox I think Rojas is getting the better of it comfortably though. . I hope can pulls something out. The early pace is showing on em though fitter guy will have a great chance to pick up some rods if it goes to the scorecard
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
These gits are still throwing over a hundred pnches a a round in the tenth :S.... xu can had the best combination of that round but I think Rojas is doing better he's punhing through can man's guard now. Bad sign for China man.
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Close fight, I've got it 105-104 Rojas.
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Last round now, can man did good in the 11th and looks lively in the 12th, rojas has been getting good half landing pnches and doing well at the end of the rounds.. really fun fight. I'm scoring it like harold ledderman though, aka mildly thinking about proper scoring in the first few rounds then getting beer and making it up after that... they hugged each other at the start of the 12th that was nice, I think can did beat in 12th...
Very fun fight, great work by these guys can man is the best chinaman I have seen... my ledderman scoring has rojas winning quite easy
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Really nice fight. Gave Xu the 12th.
114-114.
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Oh wow can man wins wide score... I don't agree but I wasn't actually scoring it, can man looked like he thought rojas was getting it when he announced score.. my non scoring self thought that rojas won quite clear.
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
118-110, 117-111, 116-112
UD Xu Can

Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
I like the can man though so I'll accept this odd decision
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Main event can bugger aff
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
I have to actually watch that one now ;D. Kenny losing his marbles. Hey it is Texas :-X
How rare is that though..from China to U.S grabbing a strap
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
To defend the judges, both the fighters fought in a pretty consistent way and the landed punches were similar, so of you preferred one style to the other I guess you score it that way, I clearly preferred the style of rojas so I would have the scorecards inverted but maybe this isn't a robbery..... or maybe it is gbp trying to expand to massive China.

Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Inoue looks very impressively determined here... but a jap who describes himself as an agressive guy who likes to fight on the inside (surprising for a jap :S)... just seems like a dream for munguia who is massive... I hope inoue does good though I like Japanese boxing
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Close 1st round, gave it to Munguia.
1-0 Munguia.

Koichi Wajima would come in there to turn Munguia over his knee. Sounds like Munguia already plotting his jump to 160
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
I don't think there's been one Japanese fighter who's come over to the west in a big fight and not put on a show. This could end up a hell of a fight that makes a nonsense of the odds.
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
The 2nd round was also close. Gave it to Munguia again.
2-0 Munguia.

Mon the japs!...
Munguia apparently said he's only got one or two more at 154 and is really struggling to make weight (wot a surprise).. I don't think 160 lbs will be kind to munguia he gets away with a lot due to his size, still young though so hopefully he improves his defence I find him a load of fun to watch.
Looks like munguia is just sparring here which is good for a young fellow, not really a contest though.

Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
3rd was clear for Munguia for me.
3-0 Munguia.
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
I am hoping munguia goes mental and kos this fellow soon. .. I ant to switch over for fedor inevitable demise :S
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Good round for Inoue.
3-1 Munguia.
