Rare occasion where I actually agree with you. The racism HBO exhibited was bad but the negative commentary hurt fights and the sport.
Larry Merchant was a great boxing analyst and commentator. He was very articulate and had a talent for words, and was always fair in his commentary.
Max Kellerman in contrast is extremely biased and racist. He absolutely hates white boxers, and always roots against them.
Both Max Kellerman and Larry Merchant (who changed his name from Kaufman) are Jewish.
I think Lampley was pretty bad enthusiastically calling invisible punches like he was reading from a kids comic book. Foreman was bad too, not sure if that's racist also or just factual. He stunk.
Foreman was useless. He would’ve never gotten the gig if his comeback and crossover name with the grill wasn’t such a big story. I don’t think Merchant or Kellerman were racist, only biased towards their preferred style of fighting. Don’t think either of them actually added much to a fight, and I couldn’t stand either of their post fight interviews. Lampley was technically a great colour commentator, cheerleading aside he had the kind of voice and enthusiasm that you want, he was entirely capable of being very good I assume.
Dunno bud his breakdown just now was pretty legit. I came in full on Kovalev fan and root for him but as Max says, he doesn't take responsibility and comes off like he's looking for scape goats. Blaming others for what happens to him, imagine that.
Oh no...and McGirt is training him now :-X
Brian Kenny n Sergio Mora are fantastic on Dazn
I’ll admit it I loved merchant he was a bit senile but I looked forward to hearing him. I also liked foreman and wish he would do more announcing but he is my favorite fighter so he could sit at the mike and say nothing I’d still be happy. I don’t know if you gets watch broadway boxing, they do boxing matches out of NY mostly smaller venues, they have interesting announcers. Farhood is a regular I always liked him. Merchant threatening to kick Floyd’s ass if he was 50 years younger was one of the great moments in boxing history.
I like Larry Merchant, sure he sounded a bit like a drunk uncle at times but overall he was fun.
I always thought Larry was comically full of himself. He would give us just that right amount of pause before gifting us his wrap-up comments.... eyebrow raised just so..... and would then rhapsodize and say some shit about Shakespeare or something while trying to make some sort of analogy, before getting to the point. He wasn't without knowledge, but did have that "drunk uncle" look.
I was never a fan of Merchant either. He was a bit annoying. HBO had a problem getting really good commentators. I did like Lampley when I was younger but quickly got annoyed of him.
Kellerman is white so it’s weird you think he is racist against white fighters. Biased is one thing but racist is ridiculous. Also, he loves GGG who is white, so that ruins your argument.
Now if you are talking about Roy Jones, then I will agree that he is very bias towards black fighters over white fighters.
He's Jewish, so he doesn't consider himself white. He believes he's superior.Roy will usually give white boxers credit when they deserve it, Max will not. Roy doesn't lie and minimize white fighters accomplishments like Kellerman. For example, I remember when Hatton KOed Jose Luis Castillo, Max immediately said "Castillo is shot".Quote:
Now if you are talking about Roy Jones, then I will agree that he is very bias towards black fighters over white fighters.
Just because he is Jewish does not mean he considers himself to not be white or superior.
Keep making a fool of yourself with your posts.
If some people are so naive to think my posting the truth is "making a fool" of myself, then so be it. :)
It's not because Kellerman is Jewish, not all Jews consider themselves to be a "chosen" or "superior" race. For example, Al Bernstein has been fair in his commentary about white fighters in recent years. I've met him in Las Vegas, and he seems a genuinely nice guy. Larry Merchant (who changed his name from Kaufman) is also Jewish, but never showed any hate for white athletes.
Most people can easily tell Max Kellerman hates white boxers, he doesn't try to hide it. He is not against his own white Ashkenazi people, he's been an activist in an organization created to preserve the Yiddish language. By the way, in Yiddish the word for cattle "goyim" is the same as the word for gentiles.
Goy - Nation
Goy Kadosh - Holy Nation (Jews)
Goyim - Plural - Nations
Bakar - Cattle ...also can be interchanged with Freedom as in 'being full of shit'.
You have unwittingly dog whistled yourself as being an anti-semitic old fool by repeating the 'Goyim' old wives tale. You may want it to be true, but it ain't.
Max Kellerman may be an idiot but you don't get to speak for him or Other Jews or boxing fans in general
This may help you

Verdict...Sadly a Jew ;D
I honestly think you are the only person I’ve ever heard say that Kellerman is racist against white people. And Castillo was shot against Hatton. Jones is far more bias for black fighters. I’ve never once noticed it with Kellerman. If other people agree with you that’s fine, but it seems like you are the only one who notices.
Many people can see Max hates white boxers, it's obvious. Read YouTube comments, and comments from fans on other forums.
Roy Jones is much less biased than Kellerman, for example he was honest about Kovalev deserving to win the first fight against Ward. Jones agreed with the Calzaghe's decision win over Hopkins, Kellerman called it a robbery.
I saw that before. I posted that same link one time on another forum, but the mods deleted it. Even Kellerman own people are ashamed of him, he's not as clever and subtle as most Jews, he doesn't hide his feelings toward white gentiles.
According to that site, Klitschkos have some Jewish heritage, Froch does not.
Boy you're stuck on those broad brushes aren't you ;D. Max is equal opportunity absurd sometimes, he don't care if you're pink with purple stripes. He'll put his foot in his mouth to get his point across but truth be told..Castillo was mostly shot to pieces and it was obvious. A guy two yrs removed from his biggest win goes to 140 with a reputation for taking punishment (HBO loved it) who 'lost' to Ngoudjo before Hatton and who's legs looked weak in the 1st round. He never again won a top fight and gave a way a chance to fight Bradley because he wouldn't make weight. Castillo was well on his way out..Max was right. Now that was a great ko from Hatton, but sighting facts one way or the other doesn't make a guy "racist". Unless of course you have another problem with ol Kellerman of course :D.
Didn't he praise Tzsyu in a possible fight with Hatton? And say Wlad was supremely skilled and good for the sport but was just not that entertaining? Who hasn't said that? Didn't he also say Calzaghe was better than a top form Spinks???. Now thats not racist. Maybe a bit looney possibly :-X but zero to do with race.
Merchant doesn't really translate well here and Kellerman even less. Merchant may have been the colour commentary guy, and I can see the drunk uncle analogy, but for us here the nearest equivalent was probably Jim Watt. Unlike Merchant Jim was an ex pro who knew what it took to step thru those ropes but he was certainly a marmite character. Loads of people hated Watt, but i kind of liked him. I rarely agreed with him or his commentary but that is not the point. He became a familiar voice, and like a local draft beer that is not your favourite, but all that is available down the Ferrret and Felcher, you get used to it. It is like having an old friend, there next to you on the sofa, as much a tradition as the boring anthems and the rush to grab another bottle between rounds.
We are going to miss that with all this choice. Streams? Schmeems. Having to put up with stuff builds character and makes you enjoy the fight despite and sometimes because you want that timbre, that familiar roll and rhythm, even if it is to laugh at how diametrically opposed they may be to you in the reading of a fight.
It seems more relevant on boxing boards than anywhere else.
Boxing fans generally root for those who have something like religion, ethnicity, or race in common with them.
Pakistanis tend to support Amir Khan, Filipinos tend to support Filipino boxers, Scots support Scottish boxers like Taylor, Blacks tend to support Black boxerrs, Mexicans tend to support Mexican boxers, and so on. If there was a good Jewish boxer, I'm sure you'd be his fan. It's only natural and not racist to support one's own people. It's only racist if you hate those who are different from yourself.
And ethnicity and skin colour is very relevant to Max Kellerman, more so than any other commentator in boxing. He disparages white boxers and he praises black fighters (unless a black boxer loses to a white boxer, then he makes harshly negative comments about them too). He'll root for a Mexican (or an Asian like Golovkin) over a White American or European, but he always roots for Black boxers over Mexicans and Asians.
But don't get me wrong, some Jews like Dan Rafael and Larry Merchant do not have Kellerman's hate for white athletes.
I don't remember that, but he would support an Asian boxer like Tszyu (Kostya had a Korean mother, like Golovkin) over a White boxer like Hatton.No. He said "the sport of boxing would be better without the Klitschkos" and went on and on many times about how the only reason Wlad was dominating was because it's a "weak division".Quote:
And say Wlad was supremely skilled and good for the sport but was just not that entertaining?
No. He said Calzaghe was knocked down by a "shot" Eubank in their fight (a lie), that Hopkins was robbed against Calzaghe (a lie), and that Calzaghe only dominated 168 because it was a "weak division" (another lie).Quote:
Didn't he also say Calzaghe was better than a top form Spinks?
Other examples:
Max said "Berto defeated Urango by a wider margin on the scorecards than Ricky Hatton did" after the Berto-Urango fight. That's a lie - check BoxRec for the scorecards.
Max said "Rahman is taking this fight on THREE weeks notice" during the Rahman-Klitschko HBO telecast. Old news reports on boxing sites can verify it was SIX weeks notice - Rahman agreed to the fight in late October and fought Wlad on Dec 13.
lie: "Most people thought Collazo beat Hatton"
lie: "Eubank knocked down Calzaghe in the first round of their fight"
lie: "Judah wasn't really hurt in his fight with Tszyu, it was an unfair stoppage"
lie: "Bute is MUCH bigger than Miranda"
lie: "The Klitschkos never get real KOs, just TKOs"
lie: "Calzaghe is doing more poorly against Roy than a shot Trinidad did"
Kellerman sees nothing but race. He'd root for Tszyu (half Russian, half Korean) over Hatton, but Judah over Tszyu.
Max Kellerman hates white athletes in other sports too.
Tom Brady won ANOTHER superbowl today. Max Kellerman said this in 2016:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvyAVctVB5I
Max Kellerman To Patriots Fans: You Are The Dumbest Fans In Sports
https://boston.cbslocal.com/2018/01/...est-in-sports/
Kellerman also went on to sort of say that his grand prediction that Brady will “fall off a cliff” and “be a bum in short order” has come true? (Fact check: Brady will be handed his third NFL MVP award in short order.) Guest host Damien Woody told Kellerman, “You’re still waiting for Tom Brady to fall off the cliff.”
“What do you mean waiting? I have eyes!” Kellerman exclaimed. “Tom Brady hasn’t been excellent in the last five games! He’s been an ordinary quarterback. Go look at tape, Damien.”
But as others in this thread have said, Kellerman just isn't very smart. He gets high-profile jobs with HBO and ESPN because of his Jewish heritage, not because of any talent or ability.
Max very childlike in his fanboyism. He often comes across like an excited 14 year old girl with a crush. Over the years, Max has come out with hundreds of silly comments like:
"Devon Alexander is the heir apparent to Floyd Mayweather's pound-for-pound throne"
"Paul Williams is like Julio Cesar Chavez, Pernell Whittaker and Thomas Hearns all mixed into one fighter "
Max went back at Brady again this morning. Will Cain called him out on it... lolol....

I'll admit to knowing nothing about Max's personal hates. But I did notice him ragging on Brady. I thought it was just him playing devil's advocate. It's like Brady would have to win the next few Super Bowls and play till he's 50 before Max concedes anything. It's weird. Some commentators/analysts know something about some sports..... and practically nothing about others. I tend not to put too much weight on Max's football opinions. A hater like him probably knows little about football history or even the technical aspects of the sport.
I'm second guessing the time wasted in responding but here goes ;D
Or maybe he thought the established 10 yr vet champ held the advantage over a full frontal buzz saw from across the pond who had yet to step in with the best or come Stateside. Not sure if Max digs Korean Milfs and not sure what they have to do with it but many people had Tszyu thumping Hatton and Hatton turned the boxing world on its head.
Nope, he said he belongs and that he respects him. Lets be honest Wlad did have a bit of a cake walk and Kellerman was no different than many doubters. Shit, the entire network wrote Wlad off as 'premium' network time because style and approach in his late years :o. I smell a much much broader conspiracy bud. Grab the Reynolds wrap. Kellerman slammed Wlad early on as did more than a few when he was bounced off the canvas with Sanders and Brewster. Max didn't go there because he was a spastic Jewish boxing nerd in a designer leather jacket hiding an agenda...he went there because Wlad had legitimate doubts that we all saw.
Just interested to know where Max said Hopkins was robbed? I know that kicked up all over the place, here included but was it the same night he called Calzaghe a legit truly great fighter and top p4p? And when telling him for landing the most punches ever on Hopkins. Or when he said Calzaghe would beat a prime Spinks in The Ring? You see you can do this hunt and peck all day finding dumb-accurate things any blowhard on a live mic says. Contradiction about a live moving sport in the archived world. Or on a keyboard :-X. Kellerman may be a lot of things, but he wears it one the sleeve, has done some research and isn't afraid to admit he's wrong...if you threaten a wedgie! If you're stuck on Max being a Jew, then you're stuck and there you will remain. This is boxing talk after all.
seriously if he said Hopkins was robbed vs Calzaghe I have to see that ;D. That's just bad. My god that was an ugly fight.
They took him off the network because the sports director at that time Ross Greenburg
(a Jew) decided to go with more African-American boxers.

“We're out of the heavyweight division. There isn't any interest in the US because there's no one besides Haye to challenge the Klitschkos.”
Larry Merchant is also Jewish, as is Dan Rafael, yet both have generally been fair in their commentary. Unlike Max Kellerman, neither hates white athletes.Quote:
If you're stuck on Max being a Jew, then you're stuck and there you will remain.
In your imagination, all Jews are all wonderful, honest, decent, fair people, after all, that's how they are portrayed in the news media, movies and TV programs. You don't realize that they produce, write and direct most of those news stories, movies and TV programs.
But keep drinking the kool aid if you like, I do realize the sad reality is that many people are like those brainwashed folks who followed Rev Jim Jones.
;D I can't believe you actually ran with that turd bud. Shame you focus so much on big mouth announcers and ignore the actual fights taking place. Rigo got the hbo blackball too, guess he was in disguise.
Wlad Klitschko was not boring. Max loves Andre Ward, who is holds and grabs more than Wlad ever did (except in the Povetkin fight) and many others with boring styles like Mayweather.
By the way, the Klitschkos are 1/4 Jewish heritage, so isn't your brainwashed mind supposed to love them? Kellerman stopped being hateful about Wlad when he found out about their heritage.
