Joshua v Miller - June 1st NYC

Re: Joshua v Miller - June 1st NYC
I know a lot of people will shit on this fight but like I've said a hundred times I prefer it to the Whyte fight, new blood and all that. We all wanted Wilder or Fury but things have conspired against that so Joshua has to fight something. It should be an ideal showcase for AJ. Miller is a massive target and slow to go with it. He should hit him at will and avoid anything coming back in the other direction pretty easily.

Re: Joshua v Miller - June 1st NYC
Conspired?
Just look at what happened, they offered Wilder 15 with no upside, he’s set to make 38.5 with upside potential on top.
There is no conspiracy, they didn’t want the fight. The world is seeing they didn’t want the fight. At some point UK fans have to look at the numbers and say “it is painfully obvious they didn’t want the fight”
It’s good business if they make the fight next. If Wilder wins AJ and Wilder will both make a killing in a unification. Wilders star has grown tremendously. But for now they(Eddie and his puppy) are on the sidelines because of their decisions and only because of their decisions. No conspiring at all.
If Fury wins AJ and Fury make more than if they fought now. Far less than any matchup including Wilder because one market is lost but still loads. AJ took the least dangerous route. Can’t blame him but at the same time he’s not a guy that inspires. Fury got up from being practically a corpse, that’s inspiring. Wilder looks to go Ortiz, Fury, Fury, Joshua, that’s inspiring. That’s why their star grows. And AJ fights Miller, yawn. It’s the better fight to some only because it’s new, not because Miller is a better opponent. That’s about as far from inspiring as one can get. Go AJ,,, I guess.

It was just words Ron, relax. I wasn't suggesting anything underhand (although that 50 mill?) had happened or legalities were breached, merely that (and lets pretend for a minute he wants the fights) Eddie/AJ couldn't get the Wilder or Fury fights over the line. That said, according to Eddie, conspiracy is exactly whats been going on, I'm sure you've seen the interviews. Now.......I know you cant bring yourself to endorse anything that comes from the mouth of young Edward and that's fine, your prerogative and all that. In the world of Ron, no proper offers were made to Wilder, Fury or Whyte and the 50 million offer from Wilder was legit and above board and AJ knocked it back through fear and fear alone. Lets park that there OK?

Re: Joshua v Miller - June 1st NYC
I'm happy about Wilder-Fury II...... and I'm happy about Joshua-Miller. Means Joshua isn't sitting on his ass posturing and waiting for the leaves to turn. He's fighting someone who's considered a top contender, and that should satisfy a lot of people. Personally, I don't rate Big Baby much.... and I think the fight result is a foregone conclusion. I'm glad Wilder and Fury got their rematch set up without either one fighting Joshua first. I'm of the group who believes AJ and his team f*cked around too much with Wilder, treating him as so much garbage. Fury stepped in and stole the limelight along with Wilder. For once AJ was left out in the cold. So good on him for fighting Miller now. I'm sure AJ-Wilder and/or AJ-Fury will happen soon enough.
-
Re: Joshua v Miller - June 1st NYC
At the moment, this is about the best fight for AJ so I’m not upset about it. Now I will be very upset if doesn’t fight the Wilder and Fury winner after though.
-
Re: Joshua v Miller - June 1st NYC
Well AJ missed his April date at Wembley and now has adapted his plan to fight in the USA. I am sure it is not his preferred option but he is still getting big money and a potential new market.
AJ is the best heavyweight in the world and yet more people will be interested in the Wilder v Fury 2 fight than his own. He has only himself to blame.

I have never once said AJ was scared. But you go ahead and put words in my mouth to make me wrong. That’s what dishonest people do. Again, exactly why I get more and more likely to insult this site. This is where it goes. Can’t debate something I say just lie. That’s twice today for you

Your last paragraph is exactly my issue with him.

Re: Joshua v Miller - June 1st NYC
When you think about it this has all turned out better for fight fans, AJ will beat the absolute shit out of Miller and look good doing it which sets things up perfectly for a mega unification fight with either Fury or Wilder.
If its Fury v AJ thats 100% going down at Wembley (90,000 fans and 10pm UK time 😎) 2 UK fighters, promoters and tv networks guarantee that.
If its Wilder it'll go down in Vegas or NYC.
We haven't had an epic year in the Heavyweight Division like this in around 25 - 30 years.

Worse fights are better for fight fans?
AJ doesn’t need a showcase to fight Wilder or Fury next. He just has to choose to fight them.

Re: Joshua v Miller - June 1st NYC
Hearns planning a top undercard for this 👌🏼
The promoter told IFLTV: “I’m looking for a major fight for [Joshua] Buatsi there if he can come through [Liam] Conroy, I’d like to take Josh Kelly there.
“I’d like to do Tommy Coyle vs Chris Algieri, Ricky Burns vs Ray Beltran.”
“I’d like to do Kal Yafai vs [Donnie] Nietes in a unification fight, there’s some other world championship fights I’m looking at as well.
“I’m hoping as well that if Katie Taylor can get through [Rose] Volante, maybe we can do the undisputed with [Delfine] Persoon for all the belts.”

Rightly so.
They are in the same location, roughly same time period and in the shadow of the biggest boxing fight of the year.
The pair of them should be embarrassed.

Do people genuinely believe this though? I mean real people, not the divs on Facebook and Twitter who call people casuals because they're a bit more pragmatic about the whole it's all Eddie's fault narrative.
For sure Eddie could have made the Wilder fight in a heartbeat (assuming Wilder actually wants it of course, shock horror). Just adopt the Charles Martin approach and pay way more than you want to achieve what you want, simples.
There seems to be no blame attached to Wilder at all, he is whiter than white in all this and a victim of Eddie's underhand tactics.
Like it or not, even if you take the poorest offer (the alleged flat fee) that Eddie made to Wilder and his people, he knocked it back. He knocked back the most money, for the best (undisputed) fight and in turn accepted less money for a poorer (vague grasp on the lineal title) fight.

The majority of the blame is with AJ, he is The Man of the division who can make the fight happen at the click of his fingers like Thanos. However he is not willing to do it.

Can he though? From his position he/Eddie can offer more money than anyone else for sure, but that offer has to be accepted no? What makes you/people believe that this hasn't happened? We know for fact that Wilder was offered more money for a better fight against AJ, why would you knock that back for a lesser fight with lesser prestige and for less money?

Re: Joshua v Miller - June 1st NYC
The Hearns are responsible for the AJ v Wilder fight not being made. Barry Hearn still pulls the strings when it really comes down to it at Matchroom and he's been quoted multiple times saying that "We have a 7 year plan for AJ"
Do i think AJ should have taken that $50 million offer (if true) - Yes
Do i think AJ (just signed a new Matchroom/Sky/DAZN contract) had any say in that decision - No
One thing im certain of is that Joshua fears nobody and will be the King of the Trio.
Its all about the money at the end of the day.

This one still does the rounds on Facebook, Twitter and the like. Apparently and again it depends on who you believe, what your obligations are, but there was never any way that 'offer' was ever getting off the ground due to the BT implications attached to it.
There are a million videos of Hearn talking about it, always saying the same thing, it was bogus due to the BT, contractual stuff yadda yadda. OK fine, prove it, show us the email, memo, contract, whatever it was. Scribble out all the email addresses and phone numbers and show it to us, if it's true take that opportunity to pull Wilder, Finkel, Warrens pants down live on TV, why would you not do that?
Unless there are legal reasons for not doing it, you can only assume that Hearn, and Wilder's mob for that matter want it this way. They don't want to put this to bed, they'd rather the swirl of claim and counter claim with no real evidence presented continued. To what end I don't know.
Both sides of the fence claim to have documented evidence that the other is a bit of a cunt yet do nothing about it. The onus should be on Hearn for that. Wilder went on to fight Fury so he has a pass. AJ is fighting the fight he doesn't really want and you'd think they would offer up some evidence as to why.
-
Re: Joshua v Miller - June 1st NYC
I have little doubt AJ would beat Wilder. Anthony is by far the more superior technical boxer of the two and would land his bombs first and knock out Wilder.
AJ should have moved heaven and earth to make that fight especially after seeing what Fury did to him.
If there is a long term plan for AJ then he will keep taking the easier option every time.

You’re right. But these retards bring the money. These retards are the ones who stand at the back of Wembley Stadium, part of the 90,000 die hards.
And when I say that the Brits are mugs, I get slagged off!
The thing is, these keyboard warriors listen to the hype and before you know it Wilder and Fury are the “Men” in the division and Joshua is a Ducker!
The fact that if they all fought each other, Joshua would come out on top is almost irrelevant.

Think we're talking about different people, i'm on about the complete and utter mug-cunts who complain about everything and despise Eddie Hearn because he's everything they dream of being let alone AJ. They're the same people who moan about every single PPV even though they ponce everything on the freemans. The same people who will be complaining about everything and anything Joshua does long after the Wilder/Fury shit is resolved.
If you mean Brits are complaining because they won't be able to watch AJ live then that's fair enough, they're true fans disappointed they're not going to Wembley or wherever.

sometimes I reckon they're one and the same. they stand at the back of Wembley Stadium jumping on the bandwagon, Boo Eddie when he comes in the ring because everybody says Eddie is a cunt, and then when the hype machine tell him that AJ is ducking Wilder and Fury they change tack.
too many clueless cunts form their opinion on what they are told and what they hear rather than what they actually see.
same people were giving Eubank a chance against Groves and Saunders because he can throw 98 punches at a machine in 11 seconds.

Yeah, I think so. Being fair to Joshua, if Wilder and Fury are fighting each other, what other options are there? Whyte? Been there done that, and the word is that Whyte wanted “Fury/Wilder type money.”
Ortiz? Yeah, and if he beats him , it’s Wilder’s leftovers.
Just go to shows it’s a pretty shallow division.

It should be an easy night for AJ. The only thing Miller has going for him is that he has a lot of weight if he knows how to use it correctly.

Pretty shallow is an understatement, whatever happens Hearns well paid and fed journalists will hype this as a competitive knife edge decision fight which Joshua finally wins by putting the fat bastard to sleep, probably in the later rounds because naturally Joshua wont waste energy early wrestling some big fat fucker, and won't take the risk of getting hit with an early shot.
And so the show goes on........

Re: Joshua v Miller - June 1st NYC
If Tyson Fury's claims are true that he floored Miller seven times in sparring then it doesn't look like Miller is staying on his feet for long in June. Sparring is sparring and eight years is a long time in boxing ..but still ;D

Fury destroyed AJ's opposition in sparring, sending them packing early? Never heard that one before.
