There have been many fights that were supposedly going to be a superstar versus a superstar that ended up being a mismatch with one fighter being exposed. Calzaghe- Lacy is up there, and Zab -PBF is soon to be up there. Any others?

well.. Tyson Spinks. Hands down. Not that Spinks was exposed or anything but that was not a fight. SPinks had no hope in hell of even making it out of the first round. Also probably PBF Corrales up there... Zab PBF could have been considered up there if Zab hadnt just lost to a journeyman lol... Now most people dont expect a great fight.
ODLH-TITO 8) I don't care what anybody says ODLH showed everyone what a great boxer he was.
Winky-Tito
Calzaghe - Lacy
Lewis-Tua
Eubank-Benn 2
Yeah, Tyson-Spinks is a good one
Tyson-Lewis too
i hate to say it but gatti-pbf
PBF-Corrales?
Corrales-Castillo 2 seeing as what happened.
As far as from a media stand point...over hyped...which is what I consider the question to mean...hands down...two of my boy's Oscar vs Bernard.
Next Hagler Hearns my ass!
Yes, this is near the top of the list, but I remember another one shortly after that: Foreman-Cooney. Gerry Cooney came walking down the aisle before the fight wearing green with some sort of Irish music playing in the background and with a proud look on his face, but the way he fought was pretty disgraceful. I was disgusted. The heavy bag gave Foreman a better fight than Cooney did that night. Schmeling put up about as much resistance in his 2nd fight with Joe Louis.Quote:

Lewis-Grant
Tyson-Spinks
Tyson-McNealy
tyson v spinks
holmes v cooney
Lewis v Golota ;)
Holmes-Cooney was actually a good fight. I knew Holmes would win, but Cooney was destroying people, and gave Holmes a run. Holmes is just one of the best Heavies ever. It was the highest grossing fight at that time, but I don't think it was overhyped.Quote:

Winky-Trinidad
Tyson-McNeely
Lewis-Tyson...once again OWNED!
Rahman-Toney...not only was it boring, it had James Toney in it
I agree, although Tyson- Spinks turned out the way that I thought it would....91 seconds.....But Holmes-Cooney was HUGELY HYPED!!!! everybody was talking about it, even non-boxing fansQuote:

Your right, Holmes-Cooneywas a great fight, but I was thinking in terms of super hyped fights, not fights that were hyped but then were busts.Quote:
