ESPN 2 main event tonight
looks good, Nate Campbell versus Isaac Hlatshwayo, Campbell's been on a tear lately and Isaac's got some pretty good wins and is undefeated. Don't know the undercard, Arnaoutis is fighting but its just a stay busy fight and am not sure if it will be televised but I'm looking forward to the main event, its a good one for ESPN 2

Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
yeah its a good one for FNF, this one along with Miranda-Eastman are both real good for ESPN. Got Cintron versus David Estrada later this month which is another pretty good one

Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
Nate better be careful. Issac can box. I think Phillip Ndou beat him. But he did good to stand up.
-
Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
He beat N'dou but I read something about his last fight where he struggled cause apparently he's been having trouble making 135 for a while now, he is like almost 6 feet.
-
Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
Nate has to go to the body then.
-
Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
And some inside information Ouma.
Brian Minto is on the undercard against that Zumbrum guy that almost beat Riddick Bowe.

Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
I'm kinda thinking boxrec's maybe has that mixed up, cause I heard he was taking a stay busy fight before the fight with Vivian Harris and picking a guy who's never fought at a weight lower than 159 and is 10-0 with 8 KO's would be kind of a strange choice for a stay busy fight. But boxrec's usually right so I don't know but that's an odd choice of opponents

Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
pretty mediocre undercard, mediocre at best
ready for the main event now
Teddy still picking Zab
-
Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
Nate needs to go to the body
-
Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
they say Hlatshwayo's only 5'8, I swear I thought I heard he was about 5'11, guess not

Teddy has lost his mind. Zab may win, but Teddy has still lost his mind. He tries to sound like he knows boxing inside and out, because he pulled a gun on Tyson, and he told Moorer, "this is the time of your life!". Teddy knows some shat, but he reminds me of the drunk Larry Merchant most of the time.

Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
Nice fight, Campbell doing some great work to the body but Isaac doing some good things too

Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
Nate seems to be wanting to outbox him. Phillip Ndou did what Nate is doing and they gave it to Issac Nate better stop boxing and keep going to the body
-
Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
He has stepped off the gas some and its costing him IMO, Isaac covers up well, body shots are the way to go
-
Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
better round for Nate, Isaac didn't land much, and Campbell didn't throw a whole lot but landed the better punches
-
Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
Issac landed something ??? I think under any normaal circumstances Campbell would be given these rounds, but he needs to be more active he is landing more but they would give the rounds to Issac and Nate needs to turn it up, he's winning but he needs to make sure there is no chance he gets screwed
-
Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
How many rounds ahve you given Issac? and how many rounds do you think the judges have?
-
Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
this is basically Phillip Ndou all over again. I think Nate won(since I do not think Issac won rounds 5 to 10 like Teddy) I got it for Campbell, like I had it for Ndou. Which means that they will probably give it to Issac 115-113
-
Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
Nate has himself to blame, why take off like 6 straight rounds? I didn't think he lost every single one of those rounds but he lost most of them. He needed to dog Isaac, stay close and work the body and he didn't
Isaac's size helped but it was mainly that he was more consistent, not a robbery if Campbell gets the decision but I thought Isaac edged it out by a round or two
-
Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
117-111 ??? thats strange either way
-
Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
Basically the same as the Ndou fight
-
Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
what went through Nate's mind after the second and before the third? He did so well in the second staying close and then he went away from it. I didn't agree with Teddy's scorecard round by round, I gave Isaac the first and didn't think Nate lost every middle round but he gave away a good bit of them and started to get hit more and more as the rounds went on. He had the formula early and went away from it, his own fault IMO, I had Isaac edging it, and I was rooting for Nate, and it was a fight Nate could have clearly won. But I was impressed with Isaac, although I can't see him being able to make 135 for that much longer, he's a huge 135 pounder.

Yeah I had it closer than that but activity is what a lot of judges look for, Nate was strangely inactive for a long period of time
-
Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
I don't either. But I think that Nate tried in the 4th to try to outbox him or outslick him and he didn't need to, like teddy said, he had too many openings and Nate wasn't consistant on one. I do know that Issac will not be undefeated for much longer.

I know it is activity. But I think it was more Nate with the mentality that he was landing more shots and being defensively good rather then noticing Issac was throwing 100 punches around. It's a habit of going defensive too long and it's the rhythm Nate got himself into which he didn't need to.

Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
I'm dissapointed cause I was rooting for Nate, but I can't say it was the wrong decision, some of the rounds I gave to Isaac were very close, so I wouldn't have been angry with a close decision for Nate, but Isaac won some of the later rounds, 7-10, more clearly, started landing cleanly. When Nate first went to the moving, elusive style I wasn't upset cause it was a good change of pace, make Isaac miss, tire him out a bit but he went to it for too long. He should have switched up more, gone back to the pressure style every other round or so. Staying close, working the body would have won the fight for him.
But I don't think he's done, I think both guys are still players at 135

I don't think Issac will go much longer with his openings, he will lose his 0 in his next 5 fights. nate needs to be more consistant with what he wants to do. And to think, if he hadn't made one stupid decision he might be world Champion

Re: ESPN 2 main event tonight
taped the fight and watched it again, Nate has no one to blame but himself
He could have clearly won that fight but he wasn't willing to lay it on the line and put himself out and because of that its his fault that he lost

Agreed. It was a good fight. But, it's disappointing watching 1 guy that could take the fight, but he just don't.
