Nothing but pure class by PBF

Excellent fight PBF....and Zab hater say what you will, Zab is more than a formidable foe, and physically more capable of beating PBF than anyone else at 147 or below...check my post for this but i said if Floyd blows him out no will beat him...and that's that..Floyd won't be beaten by hatton,margarito, or cotto...or any other imaginable contender that people can pull out of their asss....

And I'd like ask did anybody see when Roger jumped in the ring and went after Zab...Zab didn't have the guts to throw punches at Floyd but when a fifty year old gets in, he rushes after Roger, and still didn't go after him until his father hopped in and went first..ZAb's a first class bytch...physically capable of being champ but mentally inept...too bad Capital congrats by PBF....

I thought it was just a good performance by PBF, not his best. Showed too much respect, pitter pattered too much, but he got the job done and made good adjustments as the fight went on.

I disagree on your line of logic about if he beats Zab he can't be beaten, all the rest of those guys have different styles, and won't lay down and quit like Zab. I do favor Floyd over those guys but its a bit odd to say just cause he beat one guy, with a totally different style, that he automatically beats other guys.

Its not because of Judah's style its because PBF won't face another fighter who is arguably on the same level physically...all the other contenders, and champs...margarito, hatton, etc have too many physical flaws that will be too easily exploited by PBF...margarito is nothing more than a large castillo, who mayweather beat twice....hatton is too unbalanced...and cotto too green...only mayweather will beat mayweather....and from what i saw tonight as in all his other fights he's too head strong to lose focus on a fight....

If Margarito was just a large Castillo Floyd should really be worried cause both Castillo fights were pretty close, a lot of people thought Castillo won the first one and the second wasn't a blowout. Margarito is bigger but to me he isn't as good an overall technical fighter as Castillo, if he was I'd favor him to beat PBF.

I think Margarito and Hatton are both tougher fights, Judah COULD have been a tougher fight but he doesn't have what it takes mentally, he just wanted to last 12, he didn't really want to win, you won't see that from Margarito and Hatton. I don't think its a good idea to bet against PBF but everybody can lose, nobody's immortal.

Good performance by PBF but he showed a little how he can be beat. He can be outboxed but Im not sure their is anyone up to the task. The key is to keep him on the end of your punches and use the ring. He does not have heavy hands by any means at Welterweight. Baldomir has similar power but the speed is the difference. props to PBF though now he should fight a true champion.

i agree completely with ouma....zab did not look to try and win the fight beyond the 4th round. he was defensive and seemed content to just get through the rounds....

hatton and margarito are different breeds of fighters entirely...

both fighters would give floyd a much harder time....and for sure floyd is beatable...

ive said it before, and i'll say it again...hatton could very well be the man to take floyd to the limits...

Agree with Oumafan. Mayweather looked over cautious and never really seemed to commit to his punches tonight. I think he was aware of Judah's speed and conscious that he'd beat him if he didn't make a mistake.

That was Judah's best performance maybe outside of the Spinx fight. Early on he showed his talent and was setting up his left nicely. He was still comfortably beaten though. He may even have been stopped if not for the blatant low blow (an attempt to buy himself a rest?). Once again Judah's corner seemed confused. His father doesn't seem like a calming influence in there.

I'd like to see Zab fight Margarito. Always recognized that Judah is blessed with a lot of talent but he seems to have no redeeming features. I'm looking forward to seeing the post fight strategy from the Judah cheersquad. Will they :

A) Come up with the typical 'dog ate Zab's homework' excuses. 'That wasn't the real Zab Judah etc.'

or

B) Boost what was an ordinary performance from Mayweather

C) Agree with Don King about a DQ

I don't think Margarito is a bigger Castillo. He resembles a bigger Corrales. Margarito is hard, and deserves a shot, regardless of what any other Floyd fan says. But, Floyd will beat him as bad as Corrales. Margarito won't let Floyd get in his head like Corrales did, and will box more, but Floyd will make him look amatuerish. I'm not riding this victory, I always thought Floyd would beat Margarito. Alot of people didn't want this fight, they wanted Hatton or Tony. IMO, Zab poses more of a threat than Margarito, and just as much of a threat as Hatton. Only because of styles. Hatton or Tany won't give up the way Zab did, but they would get hit alot more than Zab did. Margarito IMO, would beat Hatton at 147, but Hatton would give Floyd a harder time because of styles. I know Hatton and Margarito are similar, but Hatton has more head movement, and is more fleet-footed. Tony should get his shot, but Floyd will outpoint him for a UD.

I'm holding out judgement on ODLH till I see him versus Mayorga, he's just so inactive, he's not even a real fighter anymore cause of how inactive he is and how many other things he's doing, promotions, music, etc. How much does he have left?

Although I don't think Mayorga's a truly great fighter I think I'll be able to judge ODLH better after that fight. ODLH as a fighter these days is so hard to judge cause he flat out doesn't fight. Margarito's clearly not as skilled and fundamentaly sound as him but he's in his prime, he's hungry, he's active, not sure that I can say any of that about ODLH. I'm holding out judgment on Oscar till he actually fights again.

I don't want Golden Boy to get hurt though. He's been too good for boxing. He's smarter than the regular person. He can actually talk and show character, unlike many athletes whether it be basketball, football, etc. He has a bright future. If he loses convincingly, his fans better demand retirement.

Or will he get mad and follow Floyd around while getting hit? Like you said, he's never been in the ring with a boxer like Floyd, so you don't know his reaction. On the other hand, Floyd has been in with fighters like Tony. Maybe not as big, or as strong, but fighters like Tony are taylor-made for Floyd. Floyd beating Tony does not mean he is necissarily the better fighter, I think it is a style mismatch for Tony.

Hands down, Tony should get his shot. I wasn't implying that he would fight like a zombie. But, when you get hit, and are losing rounds, and aren't hurting your opponent {I'm not saying he couldn't hurt Floyd, because he could}, it discourages even the toughest fighters.{See Castillo-Mayweather 2} Cast. never gave up, but he knew it was inevitable, I know Tony is not Cast., but Castillo is as tough as anyone in boxing today.

If your talking about pressure fighters... then I think your totally wrong. Those are precisely the fighters that will give Floyd problems. Lets just look at the last pressure fighter Floyd fought:
Castillo isn't an odd angle man. A "Hooker." His strength comes from accumulation.
He gave Floyd all he could handle. Close decision, is what Floyd had to settle on.
Ever since, Floyd has been taking on "losers" and ... well, you know the rest.

Floyd said it himself, he loves to "think" in the ring. He needs to fight a guy who doesn't make him think. Once Zab gave him that opportunity, after the fourth, Floyd got his rhythm going.

If fighters, such as Margarito are made for him, then he should just fight them all the time... because he'd look like a million bucks all the time.

Hernandez, Floyd had to stink out the joint and run for dear life, for that fight to end. (Hand problems) Also Chavez, these are much smaller men than Margarito. Hell, would I be wrong to say, that Floyd is bigger than these men? And both those guys don't fight as frightening as Margarito.

Corrales' weight gave him problems in the Mayweather fight. Losing so much weight makes you punch drunk easier. And Corrales is a stalker, who looks only for that one big punch. He finally started using a jab, Finally!

Margarito is all about volume. He's not Castillo. A comparison to Ouma is much better.
Antonio spars with the best prospects in the business. An elite fighter usually does this. And do these fighters have no skill whatsoever? No. They have talent and speed that comes with youth and Southern California fighters. It doesn't frustrate Margarito at all. As I said, he's all about volume, and those fighters don't get discouraged.... THEY JUST KEEP COMING!!!

Hands down, Tony should get his shot. I wasn't implying that he would fight like a zombie. But, when you get hit, and are losing rounds, and aren't hurting your opponent {I'm not saying he couldn't hurt Floyd, because he could}, it discourages even the toughest fighters.{See Castillo-Mayweather 2} Cast. never gave up, but he knew it was inevitable, I know Tony is not Cast., but Castillo is as tough as anyone in boxing today.

Yeah, you are right BUT one very important things is...Zab has a weak chin,everyone knows that yet it does not sound as if PBF dented it at all! Most if not alll Floyd fans said he was going to win by ko, but he didn't.Now couple that with the fact that Margarito has become a fast starter as of late and things really do become interesting!! I mean, if Floyd has lost pop,he better get ready to run from Tony from the off!

everyone's talking about pitter patter shots by mayweather tonight and he didn't hurt jab's weak chin..if any of you saw the fight and listened, he said that he hurt his hand and wasn't throwing anything with power tonight..so maybe that's why he didn't committ to his punches...and as far as margarito goes...i think that castillo is actually a better fighter and a technically flawed fighter such as Tony would and will get torn up if he hesitates just a bit...tony's got heart, he's got will, and he's got a chin, and he throws bombs...but how many punches can he take before the discouragement sets in? If and when they fight, the ring will be the largest allowed by whichever state they fight in...and cutting of the ring is out of the question, he will have to hold much like castillo did in order to land some shots...other than that he will lose 120-108 ud...unless he wins a round or two by outworking PBF....then maybe 118-110..i think hatton is a much better opponent than tony...period...maybe he should fights spinks or judah...or the gatti-baldomir winner..because floyd is fighting ODLH..win or lose to mayorga that fight will happen...it's too much money....

Agreed. Tony's no hoe. He'll come to fight for sure. But, he better pray for a clean shot that Floyd doesn't see, or he will get outpointed. People will hate that I say this, and will hack on me, but, I see Tony as an easy fight for Floyd. I'm more worried about an aging Oscar.

I know exactly why you guys don't believe in Tony.
You guys can't question his:
1) Power
2) Odd Angles
3) Toughness

You can't question that. He fights telefutura fighters, just like Floyd has (Brussels)... except he Knocks them out within seconds.

But the real reason you question Tony is because he hasn't proven if he can "cut-off" the ring. Cause if he can't do that, it can be an easy night for Floyd. It's a valid reason, I know, because Margarito hasn't been in with a slick boxer. But usually the slick boxers are on the A level, and those fighters happen to be millionairs who'd rather fight each other.

I for one believe in Margarito. Odd angles, intensity!!! How can I NOT be a fan of his?!? 8)

I believe in Tony. And I think he can cut off the ring. The question is, when he gets tagged, and loses the first few rounds, and hasn't Kod Floyd, will he stick with his plan? Or will he get mad and follow Floyd around while getting hit? Like you said, he's never been in the ring with a boxer like Floyd, so you don't know his reaction. On the other hand, Floyd has been in with fighters like Tony. Maybe not as big, or as strong, but fighters like Tony are taylor-made for Floyd. Floyd beating Tony does not mean he is necissarily the better fighter, I think it is a style mismatch for Tony.

If your talking about pressure fighters... then I think your totally wrong. Those are precisely the fighters that will give Floyd problems. Lets just look at the last pressure fighter Floyd fought:
Castillo isn't an odd angle man. A "Hooker." His strength comes from accumulation.
He gave Floyd all he could handle. Close decision, is what Floyd had to settle on.
Ever since, Floyd has been taking on "losers" and ... well, you know the rest.

Floyd said it himself, he loves to "think" in the ring. He needs to fight a guy who doesn't make him think. Once Zab gave him that opportunity, after the fourth, Floyd got his rhythm going.

If fighters, such as Margarito are made for him, then he should just fight them all the time... because he'd look like a million bucks all the time.

Hernandez, Floyd had to stink out the joint and run for dear life, for that fight to end. (Hand problems) Also Chavez, these are much smaller men than Margarito. Hell, would I be wrong to say, that Floyd is bigger than these men? And both those guys don't fight as frightening as Margarito.

Corrales' weight gave him problems in the Mayweather fight. Losing so much weight makes you punch drunk easier. And Corrales is a stalker, who looks only for that one big punch. He finally started using a jab, Finally!

Margarito is all about volume. He's not Castillo. A comparison to Ouma is much better.
Antonio spars with the best prospects in the business. An elite fighter usually does this. And do these fighters have no skill whatsoever? No. They have talent and speed that comes with youth and Southern California fighters. It doesn't frustrate Margarito at all. As I said, he's all about volume, and those fighters don't get discouraged.... THEY JUST KEEP COMING!!!

I'm not trying to make it sound like Tony wouldn't have a shot. Tony could very well beat Floyd. I see it like this. Hatton would have a better shot, because he is a PRESSURE fighter. But, he's quicker than Tony, and uses more head movement. Tony would give Floyd problems for sure. But, if he used angles, Floyd is too quick, and would hit and be gone. Plus, the main reason I say Hatton would have a better shot{and the reason Castillo did well}, is Tony is long, and there is alot of body for Floyd to hit.

IMO, what Floyd-Margarito comes down to is, can Tony Catch up with Floyd, and slow him alittle, before Floyd hits him too many times?

Tony can take Floyd's shots, but Tony will get hit at will by Floyd. You know what I say is true. Tony might knock Floyd into next year, and it wouldn't surprise me. But Tony will get hit alot, and he has more of a target zone than Hatton, or Castillo{kind of like Corrales}. That's the way I see it.

Bottom line, this fight needs to happen. If Tony wins, he gets the recognition he deserves. If Floyd wins, noone can hate by saying he's not fighting tough fighters.

Yeah 120-108 to PBF Floyd against Margarito ??? ::** It ihas already been established Margarito is not as technically sound as Castillo but he makes up for it in other departments ie leather power,size.Margarito has never hesitated, never will,simple as. If he thinks he has a 50%chance of catching you,he will go after you. Anyway, the date has been set,let's see what happens.

My first time seeing Mayweather tonight. I was impressed by his defense and ability to avoid blows (he is very evasive) and suppose that goes someway to the reason why he remains unbeaten (if you dont get hit you dont tend to lose much!), I was also impressed by his speed. I wasn't impressed with his performance however and really do think on that evidence alone Hatton is someone who will give him great difficulty.

Hatton takes the fight to the fighter. Granted he may from time to time walk through a few bombs to get on the inside, but he ALWAYS gets on the inside. From then on his workrate is intense, his footwork underrated and his lateral movement fantastic. From what I saw last night Mayweather didn't like it when Zab, on the very few occasions traded on the ropes. Mayweather likes it at range, and Hatton simply wont give him that time to breathe.

Hatton throws an incredible number of blows. Floyd was susceptible last night to shots to the body (and the low blow), and we all know that that's how Hatton breaks down an opponents defences, by hurting the body, the hands start to drop, then he takes it upstairs.

But to say ''nothing but pure class'' on lasts nights performance is inaccurate although I do think he controlled the fight from round 3-4 onwards.

Lets bring Hatton and Mayweather together this year!

I disagree on your line of logic about if he beats Zab he can't be beaten, all the rest of those guys have different styles, and won't lay down and quit like Zab. I do favor Floyd over those guys but its a bit odd to say just cause he beat one guy, with a totally different style, that he automatically beats other guys.

Yeh i wasn't overly impressed. Don't get me wrong he looked sharp but he took quite a few hard punches early on. Seems to struggle against fighters with fast hands. I just feel that if Zab let his hands go more, he could have caused an upset cos that was lookin on the cards early on. But respect to mayweather, he made the necessary adjustments mid fight and pulled out a good win.
