Diego Maradona has died at 60 from a heart attack. R.I.P. Diego. (I honestly thought he was a bit older than that for some reason).

Sad news, greatest player I have ever seen play. His peak was the 1986 world cup and Messi/Ronaldo could not do what he did in that tournament or get Napoli to what they achieved.

Greatest footballer of all time in my book. What he did in Naples was nothing short of phenomenal, and not just on the pitch. He really found common ground with Neapolitan people because he was just like them.

This documentary is good, even if you know nothing about football it's interesting. RIP Maradona.

Lot's of 'Great player....but a cheat' lines coming out from players. That'll have to be tagged onto just about every player that dies moving forward wont it? Well other than the great bit ;D

I've never seen a better dribbler and passer of the ball in my lifetime - and in an era of brutal brutal defending.

The other players who are in the 'who is the greatest' debate - Pele, Messi, Cryuff, di Stefano etc - were all playing with and surrounded by teammates of real quality .... Maradona was the only elite player I have seen who single handedly carried fairly mediocre teams all the way to the very top.

It's a shame, for him, that his personality and lifestyle off the pitch was Mike Tyson-esqu!

The only one close in terms of dribbling, hard tackles and muddy pitches but still great was George Best.

Maradona, past his best, still got Argentina to 1990 final. He was high as a kite for the 1994 world cup, you could tell from the way he ran to the TV camera and celebrated that goal.

Pele would be the only one higher because he was involved in 4 world cups winning 3 of them but he had great players in his team.

Maradona was the best I’ve ever seen. My Dad used to say Pele, but he played in amazing teams.

There was a time when I put Pele above Maradona, but I’ve changed over the years. And I don’t think the stats are comparable , simply because Maradona wasn’t really a striker as such. His game was so much more than that.

Watched the BBC Lineker documentary filmed 2006 and it was a good watch. I forgot he knocked Italy out of the world cup in 1990 with the penalty. Many hated him for that.

Also forgot the fight he had on the pitch with Barcelona and had to leave to Naples.

Actually that pic was a myth. When it pans out, he was receiving a pass as part of a free kick move and those defenders were the wall.
