anyone gunna bother with this tonight?
Just heard there's a Lion in da Camp
Reckon Arthur gives him a hard night tonight.
that was a thrilling first round
Neither fighter did anything meaningful in the 1st round but Arthur landed some light jabs so will give it to him.
Arthur 1 nil
Arthur happy with the slow pace and using his jabs to win the round. Yarde better get busy in there soon.
2 nil Arthur
Yarde coming forward more in the 3rd but still being picked off with the jab by Arthur.
3 nil
Arthur is 3-0 up at the minute, Yarde has always been a limited boxer, he's just gotta hope he can land a big shop to shake Arthyr up
Has anyone seen Arthur before, does he have any power of his own?
Close 4th round Yarde trying to raise the pace but not doing enough to hurt Arthur but will give it to him.
3-1
Close 4th round Yarde trying to raise the pace but not doing enough to hurt Arthur but will give it to him.
3-1
Disappointed in Yarde, doing very little and getting picked off by the jab of Arthur in the 5th.
4-1 Arthur
Arthur doing what Kov did and just jabbing to win the round. Yarde is way behind in the 6th.
5-1
Did they just say in Yardes corner that "the lion is going to come"
Yarde coming forward and throwing more punches in the 7th but not landing a lot but give him the round.
5-2
Yarde busier to win the 8th but not by much. The corner have figured out Arthur has hurt his right hand.
5-3 Arthur
Arthur jabbing Yarde head off in the 9th.
6-3
Best round for Yarde coming forward and letting his hands go far more in the 10th.
6-4 Arthur
Yarde has got to let his hands go and be busier. Yarde does enough to win the 11th but poor performance by Yarde overall.
6-5 Arthur
Yarde dominates the 12th and final round attacking Arthur which is what he should have done from round 1
6-6 Draw for me.
Yarde shouldn't be celebrating if he gets the nod there, terrible performance from him, Yarde basically couldn't beat a one handed fighter.
you get the feeling that Yarde was getting the result no matter what if it went to points
117-111 Yarde
115-114 Arthur x 2 so he wins the fight.
Brilliant, look at Yardes face I'm fucking pleased by that, he didn't deserve the win
Yarde is a bad fucking loser, fucking prick, saying that it is a robbery
said its a robbery and said that he doesn't accept it as a defeat, unfortunately Yarde me old mucker, whether you accept it or not the records will show it as a loss
There will be a rematch and Yarde must be busier he gave the fight away with a stupid strategy of trying to jab Arthur.
Should have been a draw.
Rematch needs to hurry up and get made for February/March.
Buatsi would box his ears off?
Yarde should seriously consider dumping his world class trainer.
Wrong tactics..too early for Kovalev and too late for Arthur.
Arrogant trainer Ajayi said Yarde can end this fight whenever he choses to, as the KO didn't happen I'm guessing Yarde didn't want to win by KO.lol
Yarde is not world class and never was, lazy bully sums him up. Arthur looks as if he can work on a right hand he could go places.
Verdict - Yarde is a tosser and bad loser.
I canāt really comment too much on this because Yarde has had an awful year in and out of the ring, and I feel bad ripping into him.
But Iāve made my feelings clear many times on here about him and his meaningless āLions in the Campā team bullshit.
Arthur simple outboxed Yarde with his jab really Yardes trainer talking bollocks.
The arrogance of Yarde and team he had a face like a smacked ass.š
A few "smart" faces were backing Arthur for the upset here (6/1), by basis of having a simple solid jab. Not only has Yarde's matchmaking been laughable (yes he had a 30 second spell against Kovalev) but he should be commended for getting this far with the massive handicapp of a laughing stock trainer.
What is it people claim Einstein said? The definition of insanity?
Someone needs to walk away from that setup. It should be Yarde, he should care enough about himself and his boxing career to say I need new people around me. I get the impression that they're all in it together and will stick it out no matter what, I've commended them for that. But it clearly isn't working and if Yarde won't or can't make the break, Tundi Ade need to be big enough and ugly enough to say we aren't right for you. It isn't working.
Losing this fight could and should be a blessing. I'm doubtful, the post fight robbery nonsense doesn't exactly fill me with optimism. But once the smoke clears and he thinks about it with a cool head he might just reconcile that he lost, at British title level, to a one armed man and go and do something about it.
The Kovalev fight papered over the cracks because of the moment of success. He 'nearly' won a World title. He thinks he's that good. The reality is he got his arse handed to him by an old man. A very good old man no doubt but an old man who should have been ripe for the taking. The fight lasted 10 completed rounds, 30 minutes, he lost what 25 of those minutes? He wasn't good enough. Yeah he was strong and athletic enough to chin Kovalev once and have a glimpse at the finish line, but the bottom line is he wasn't good enough and that moment shouldn't blind him or his team to that.
He's got time, he's got good attributes. Big, strong, fast, powerful, decent chin. He could walk into any gym you like and become a better fighter.
That said, well done Lyndon Arthur. Two weeks on the bounce the Warren bubble has been burst by the unfashionable neighbour utlising a good jab and a boxing brain.
