This fight shows how good Tszyu really was...
I thought nobody has ever been has technically, and skilled in the ways of boxing as Mayweather in its history, but after seeing Tszyu against Forrester in the Olympics, and his fights against Chavez I was starting to think he was probably better than Mayweather in terms of technical skill. Now after watching how long it took Mayweather to adapt, and relax against Judah, and that Tszyu had Judah figured out after ONE round I think can truly appreciate how great Tszyu really was...

Kostya was great, what can I say. Mayweather is in his shadow. He wanted to stop Zab, only because Kostya did it.
He wanted to Knockout Sharmba, only because Kostya did it in 3 (or was it 2? It was so quick!) He couldn't stop Sharmba, only Steele did. heh

I have to disagree. I think you may be the only person in the world who thinks Mayweather is in Kostya's shadow.

I disagree Mayweather would have stopped Shambra, and Steele just stopped it from getting ugly. Also Floyd doesn't hit even close to as hard as a guy who was about 20 pounds heavier in the olympics, and is a hitter as opposed to him. However I would have loved to have seen FLoyd was Tszyu... truly would have been on of the most brilliant though maybe boring fights I would have ever seen.

What was the highest P4P position tyzsu has ever placed in by the way?

Yes. Mayweather always wants a knockout. I predicted a Mayweather in the ninth, in Sharmba fight. So it really p*ssed me off to see damn Steele stop it early, from a body shot, and no mandatory 8 count, when Mitchell got up in time.
But you can't argue who great Kostya was. :) Makes 'em all look like chumps, aside from Ricky Hatton. 8)

Re: This fight shows how good Tszyu really was...
I totally disagree.
Kostya just fights a different fight than Floyd does & Floyd was simply showing Judah too much respect...also...Mayweather was just on the move up & what Mayweather has done has been far more impressive than what Kostya has done.
Hate him or love him...Floyd is a phenom of a fighter.
He beat Judah...no matter what.

Not sure he was around the Roy JOnes Jr./Oscar Dela Hoya/Pernell Whitaker/Trinidad/Mosley era though so... he didn't get the respect he deserved.

Word.
Kostya caught Zab with a good shot after Zab out-boxed him in the first. You can't really take allot from that fight.

By the way I LOVE Tszyu

All respect to Kostya...not dissing the man at all...but Floyd is a whole different ball game.
But either way you look at it...Judah was open...Kostya came through...end of story.

Both were trying to counter Judah... Granted Floyd Mayweather didn't get caught as many times in the first round... its took him almost 4 rounds before he found the distance. I think his reliance on his superior speed hit a brick wall in this fight and I give him props for finding a way around it... sort of because he still used his superior speed and talent to win in the end.

I don't know Wacko... Tszyu changed the tide of the battle the entire second round... He was responding to everything Judah threw... I think some of that was Judah was showing Tszyu's power too much respect... and rightfully so, but like IN Floyd's case sometimes showing something too much respect often makes it worse.

The fight was so short you can't really judge anything that happened. Not taking anything away from KT.

You who say Zab is a bum says Kostya is great because he knocked ZAB out and Floyd couldn't? You must think a lot higher of Zab then you think.

Zab is a bum for how he acts... I'm not saying he's great because he ko'ed Zab when Floyd couldn't... I am saying he had Zab's style figured out in a one round, and Floyd couldn't figure it out in one round... I'll admit I thought Zab was less skilled than he showed, but I still believe that he is one step below the ATG's in terms of skill if not ability.

Re: This fight shows how good Tszyu really was...
Thinking over the Zab-Tyzsu fight, i think Tyszu was just measuring Zab in the first round by showing him respect.....Zab started quickly and tagged Tyzsu a few times.
In the second round Zab may of been more hesitant because he wasn't the same whirlwind he was in the first, Tyszu was not going to be knocked out with 1 punch and certainly wasn't going anywhere.
I think Tyzsu might of imposed his will and his punching power in the mid-stages of the second round, and was certainly closing the distance..
Judah was caught flush with his hands down and got knocked out, very short fight indeed.

Re: This fight shows how good Tszyu really was...
tszyu has any southpaw style figured out because he is great with his right hand. But Zab getting knocked out by Tszyu and hurt by Baldomir made it tough on Floyd because Zab LOOKED for Floyd's right all night. Because Mayweather landed more lefts then rights.

Wacko, like I said we see it through different eyes. If I mention William Bo James and Bernard Hopkins things will go quiet. But I wouldn't have an opinion on Hopkins because of it. I will never call a fighter a bum, especially if I never met him. And I find it hard to believe that Zab is a black eye for boxing, there have been far worst incidents.
and besides the Nady incident, his hit on Baldomir which is interpeted many ways by Zab haters and detracters and this low blow of Floyd and riot INSTIGATED by Roger Mayweather. You can't name anything else about Zab.

If what he did to Nady wasn't enough to prove that he's a black eye on boxing...then we have nothing else to discuss about Judah...

Why don't we discuss the aftermath. Let's discuss Judah's apology. And it wasn't a one time thing, as Nady has said even the most RECENTLY. he respects Zab Judah as a man because Zab since then has been nothing but class for him and his family and has done multiple things for them. This is the kind of stuff that never hits the air about Zab Judah because the media will always paint him as the bad guy.

Starr...I already know all of that about the apology. Read that in an inteview. He things that Judah is a brilliant fighter also & that at the moment he thought that Judah was just reacting under partial control.
Why can you not just accept the fact that no matter what anyone...you the media or whomever says about Judah...I'm a big enough boy to make my own opinion of him & his immature ways?

That is all I wanted to hear, and I never will dislike him unless I actually SEE something that would make me dislike him like that. I won't excuse any fighter if I SEE something that makes me think that, and its not just because it's Zab, Floyd could have done the same thing and I'd be defending him the same way.
You know me, that even though I was all for Zab this promotion. That for PBF I have defended him GREATLY in the past(PBF) when someone said the same kind of stuff.

Re: This fight shows how good Tszyu really was...
Hard to judge off of just one fight, I always thought that Tsyzu was at his best versus boxers, especially as his career went on, cause the fight was at range and he had room to get off the right, he needs that extension which he can get against a guy like Zab. I think, and I'm sure that some will disagree with this, that with Hatton's mauling style he would have always been a tough fight for Tsyzu. He was just better at range. Floyd does better when people are coming right to him. Don't get me wrong he's not bad taking the lead in the fight but its not really his thing.
But yeah I agree Tsyzu was a great fighter. So is PBF, the thing is not every fight is gonna be Gatti revisited, there not all gonna be that easy. That doesn't mean he's not a great fighter.

Who's p4p are you talking about? it is somewhat a popularity contest dont forget.
Kostya fought and beat the best in his respective weight division! can the same be said of Floyd?
no... he is yet to prove himself at 140 let alone 147.
-
Re: This fight shows how good Tszyu really was...
Tszyu was best against boxers becasue boxers gave ground and gave him time to extend and catch them with his long right hand. Which is why he was troubled when someone pressed the action, like a Leija or those other guys or a tackie.

I think Hatton only one for three reasons. 1) He was in great shape. 2) He has allowed to do blatantly illegal things. 3) Tszyu was already old.

How so Wacko? There is alot of belts flying around that a half decent fighter can pick up. All floyd has been doing at 140 and 147 is going for the biggest pay checks nothing more.

Tackie got a boxing lesson from kostya, kostya could of finished him but left him there to show that he could box. If you watch the leija fight, leija was causing troubles but when the fight was stopped kostya was clearly taking over. If the fight had of gone on then kostya would of won by UD or maybe a late stoppage. All that matters is that kostya was one of the greats and IMO will go down as an all time great. He lost to hatton coz of hattons pressure but as taeth said...he used some questionable tactics. But one thing you cant say about Tszyu is that he was scared to fight out of australia, he didnt duck anyone and he beat the best. He is a better fighter then zab in the respect that he has the skill, he has the power and he has the mental game unlike judah. Judah falls apart easily and now looks to have a fear of being knocked out as the Tszyu fight seems to have put a black mark on his resume. Why shouldnt it be a black mark? He acted immaturely and showed that he was a fuckwit. You can say he has matured but we can never be sure. But IMO the reason why judah was pissed after the tszyu fight was coz of a couple of reasons: He got up and then fell twice and that showed he had been hit quite hard and he hadnt quite gotten his thoughts together and acted irrasionally and the other major one being his mouth. He knows how to use his mouth....too well for his own good. At every weigh in he is cocky and talks about knocking people out easily yet so far against the big names he has come up short and he would of been embarrased that he said he would knock tszyu out easily and got knocked out himself in 2 rounds.

How so?
Well...personally...I think that he's fought better opposition than Kostya as he dominated his opponants a lot easier than Tszyu did.
I respect Kostya & I like the fact that he stops 'em cold...but Floyd's still winning & Kostya's in close to hang up time.
