Colbert v Garcia & Russell v Postol - Showtime tonight

Slept on this tripleheader on Showtime tonight and not sure I'll catch it all. #1 ranked Chris 'Primetime' Colbert 16-0 takes on late sub 14-0 Hector Luis Garcia in a Featherweight eliminator. I like Colbert he's a confident kid with some flash and seems to be improving nicely.

In a very nice match up fast rising Gary Antuanne Russell 14-0, brother of Gary Russell, take a significant step up v 'been there and done that' Viktor Postol 31-3 at 140. First instinct is to go with "oh Postols on the other side and old" but easy to forget he arguably deserved the decision against Jose Carlos Ramriez last out. This very much feels like the main event. Postol is fighting with a ton on his mind as his wife and children wait for him in Ukraine tonight. Rooting for Postol to find his way back home and pull some victories in and out of the ring!

Jerwin Ancajas 33-1-2 makes his 9th defense of his Spr. flyweight belt against 13-0 Fernando Martinez out of Argentina.

Martinez has packed his lunch and brought his boots :-X. Smaller fighter but short crisp puncher matching the body work of Ancajas going into the 8th round. Ancajas buzzed in 7th and has let this little buzzsaw back into it and his eyes are lumped up. The challenger really found his 2nd gear in 6th but this is a very heavy work rate to maintain. Corner of Ancajas told him he was losing before 8th began. Really a tough scrap from both now

9th round Martinez. Both open trading stock still to end the round. Damage big on Ancajas face but gets in solid shot on Martinez. Dude is a literal buzzsaw and thus far just absorbs power shots of the champion

10th just a battle. Ancajas set down well and stronger round for him, Martinez answers right back but backed off a bit. Back and forth quality shat.

punch stat apparently has these two approaching 1700 thrown end of 10th round. Missed the 11th but Martinez has taken the momentum. Last round already ???

Martinez right up front in 12th, Ancajas looks to be landing heavier and Martinez the quicker sharper shots! Honestly just a brutal very early foty candidate respect to both. Let everything hang out here start to finish. Cards may be a CF

Martinez pretty shook up post fight good story there. Ancajas keeps it classy with some serious swelling side of both eyes. I gave Ancajas 2 thru 5 right off so just cannot see 118 under any light. Great little upset though

I really don't know who designs the costumes for the Russell brothers but somewhere Jorge Paez is saluting his screen ;D. Postol gets crowd respect.

He's going to have a tough time keeping Russell off early. Russell has a little early Porter thing happening when he rushes in. Postol not panicked trying to establish his stick.

Better 2nd Postol controls movement and timing coming on. Russell thinks he's a bulldozer but leaves windows wide open. Strength is there.

Postol close 3rd he leaves Russell in lurches at times. Good body shot for Russell Porter has Postol rolling out.

Russell Porter does well early 4th with physicality and closing distance. Postol mixes long to short shots late. Jars Russell. For an old geezer his legs are more than there. Postol round.

Gary Porter trying to line up power and getting vocal. Postol looks to control 5th round behind what is a sharp jab and accuracy so far.

Actually surprised at the legs and footspeed of Postol into 6th. Russell backs off just extending right hand and mauling in clinch. Postol controlling the action ahead for me but Russell none the less committed to brawl it forward.

Decent moment for Russell Porter mid 7th but again Postol is just simply cleaner controlling the ring and picking his spots to get off. Gary really has little jab on the way in.

Good round Russell in 8th hard right gets in on Postol. Postol timing the right upperhook at rounds end and looks the fresher. But let's be honest he needs a KO :-X. Russell bringing the strength early 9th and swinging for the fences

Tough fun 9th there. Porter in with hard left and Postol resets last minute of round. Final round inbound. Postol needs to roll them off he's in a hole visual wise

Russell hand speed shows up mid 10th and snaps Postol. Nice stuff! Has Postol shook a little...Ref stops the fight ???. What the flying fook was that Mike Ortega :o. Horrible shit stoppage, just garbage officiating.

Missed early rounds hey Mardi gras happens ;D. Garcia is near mugging him 5th and 6th. Full pressure and pins Colbert in corners for the control. Colbert may have talked himself into a style where he cannot dent a guy. Oh shat Colbert down :o

Colbert better find some wings and a baseball bat. Garcia is a brute

Garcia with lead right at his knee and really picking power shots in 8th. Couple more rounds of this and Colbert might as well be throwing snowballs at a tank. Both letting them fly

Huge 10th for Garcia top notch volume and ruffing Cobert up. He'd do well to make the final bell being honest.

Haha... Wants a rematch. You think there would be a rematch if the result went the other way?
