Beginning to doubt if PBC is able to kick that can down the road when it comes to BIG fights. This is pretty standard for what Tank has been doing cash grab PPVs so let's have Ryan line up his next. Garcia will have some moments here. Tank dropping down/ Garcia coming up for this or cw ?
these fights might be on the undercard. demetrius andrade continues to waste his prime against demond nicholson & jaron boots ennis v karen chukhadzhian. boots' fight might be for the ibf interim
i wonder if rashidi ellis v roiman on the undercard could be an ibf eliminator for the number two spot at welter
tank was apparently arrested for domestic violence
BOXER Gervonta Davis has been arrested and jailed over alleged domestic violence just days before his next fight.
The American is due to face Hector Luis Garcia on Saturday, January 7 in a defence of his WBA "Regular" lightweight belt.
But the pay-per-view title bout has been thrown into major doubt following the news of Davis' arrest.
Inmate records in Broward County in Florida show that on Tuesday evening Parkland police arrested him with charges of battery causing bodily harm.
They classified the incident as alleged domestic violence and published his mugshot.
It has not yet been made public exactly when or where the alleged incident took place.

This is the latest brush with the law in the career of unbeaten Davis, 28, nicknamed "Tank".
He was in February 2020 previously arrested and charged in Miami with two misdemeanour counts of simple battery domestic violence on the mother of his daughter at a charity basketball game.
A video of the alleged incident went viral on social media at the time.
The related court case dragged on for nearly three years before the prosecution abandoned the charges earlier this month on December 13.
Davis is also due to stand trial on February 16, which was pushed back from December, facing 14 charges from an alleged hit-and-run in 2020.
Showtime, the TV network broadcasting the fight against Garcia as well as promoters Premier Boxing Champions and TGB Promotions are yet to comment on Davis' recent arrest.
And it remains to be seen whether the fight against Dominican Garcia, 31, will still go ahead.
Davis is in line for a super-fight against Ryan Garcia, 23, next year, with his return bout a proposed tune-up to prepare.

As much as I dislike PauperRy's over-the-top, Instagram-based self-hype... and all the casual fan adulation that comes with it... I have to admit I'm starting to have second thoughts as to whom I would root for in a fight between him and "Tank" Davis.
This isn't the first time Tank shows his true colors with regards to hitting/abusing women. I remember that video of him dragging a women out by the throat from some basketball game of something. Something totally thuggish and thoroughly disgusting. I sort of brushed it under the rug because he's such an exciting fighter... and because between he and Ryan Garcia, I was obviously wanting Tank to bring this mega-entitled diva-wannabe crashing back down to Earth.
But man... this punk is becoming very difficult to ignore. If he wasn't a high-profile athlete he'd likely be in jail already.
So on the one side we've got this young pretty boy kid. Calling for an exhibition with Pacquiao (I haven't forgotten that) when in fact he had never actually ACCOMPLISHED anything. He anoints himself "King"... has a million fawning followers on Instagram... has ONE good fight to his credit... and suffers from that instant gratification syndrome that others like him suffer. He claims to have mental health issues... which nobody will touch with a 10-foot pole... 'cause it ain't cool to question THOSE types of claims... and now is rumored to be going the PED route (nothing substantiated, I'll admit). He's a pretty face who doesn't want to "get dirty" with the grind of a normal boxing rise... but wants all the adulation and rankings NOW.
On the other side... we've got this incredible talent... but someone sooooo difficult to like. He seems cut from the same cloth as Floyd Mayweather (another Floyd wannabe, like Broner). He likes to hit women... and his punkish persona is beginning to wear thin. At some point you gotta root for someone to lay him out in the style he laid out Leo Santa Cruz.
Man... this is a tough one to choose sides. :-\
if the tank fight is off how about hector luis garcia v leo santa cruz instead? remember when showtime removed rolly romero from originally fighting tank due to allegations? let's see how they treat tank
alleged nine one one call
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/egT9XEZ0y4M
if tank is out they could move boots to main event & take it off pay per view
If the fight is off... which presumably it will be... Hector Luis has been training for a fight at 135 since it was announced. So now what... turn around and fight who? At 130? And why Leo? He's not even ranked by the WBA, of which Hector is the 130-pound champ. I mean... it might be a fun fight and all that... but I presume there's a waiting list for Hector to defend his title against. Meanwhile... ol' Tank better get used to orange. 'Cause it appears it's the color he's gonna be wearing for awhile.
Shocked not shocked. 2 weeks till fight night but how hard was he going in camp?! Unless he was on a bender and Johnny came knocking at 4AM. Looking soft and puffed. Unless he's held, I cannot see them bumping him off name event with how penny pinching PBC has been. Lean into the drama and milk the controversy. Hey, boxing :p. One good reason why any ppv needs an attractive co main event rather than what are all in fact one-sided showcases. He's basically just been kicking the can down the road with all these delays and now added charges and eventually they'll run into a judge who doesn't like being yanked around. How do 14 separate charges in felony hit and run get so much rope.
the woman who was apparently involved has back tracked on her story. looks like the tank fight will go on

Not a Tank fan but is "made an unnecessary call to law enforcement" a euphemism for making false criminal allegations. No one knows what happened. She's intimidated so retracts claim. She's a scammer. Tank and Ms. Tank drumming up promotion on an already weak ppv. No idea. But at least the shot of her alleged shite on his alleged toothbrush will stop :p
lamont peterson is also making a comeback on the undercard
Jaron 'Boots' Ennis hopes to continue his rampage through the welterweight division on Saturday night when he takes on Karen Chukhadzhian on the undercard of Gervonta 'Tank' Davis vs. Hector Luis Garcia.
Ennis has made himself one of boxing's most exciting talents since turning professional 2016, amassing a 29-0 record with 27 of those wins coming by way of knockout.
Ennis will be looking to make it 28 knockout wins when he faces Chukhadzhian this weekend and when speaking in the final pre-fight press conference, the 25-year-old American revealed that he has been using elements of a heavyweight boxing legend's style to benefit his own.
"I’m on my ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson. I don’t go in there looking for the knockout, but if I see that opening, I’m definitely taking it. I’m not afraid to get him out early. Everyone knows I’m in and out like a robbery," Ennis claimed.
“I’m putting my own twist on Tyson. I picked up a few things from watching Tyson, so this is gonna be a fun night. I’m going to be explosive with it.
“My message to the world is just continue to watch me grow and progress and make sure you don’t miss this knockout on Saturday night."

Good to see Boots trying to kick up the personality but I always get a little head tilt when young guys talk about doing a Mike Tyson. Two completely different looks and approaches to me and honestly..he doesn't need it for comparisons. Most already see him being the unanointed 'next' 147 star and expect him to do a serious number on Karen fella Saturday night so focus centerline. I see no chance of upset for him but cards like this one in particular always give a whiff of some top dog possibly overlooking what are pretty much on paper overmatched opponents. But hey, upsets are awesome too.
hector deserves some credit here for fighting his third highly rated opponent on the trot & tank is one weight class higher
Upsets seemed like the most exciting thing and right out of the gate the comeback ends. You can't erase Father time and inactivity and to be honest, big career respects to Lamont but in the big picture maybe this was better.
Full credit he's earned his big mark by bringing Colbert down to Earth and solid win next out so him jumping at a 'ppv' opportunity to be expected. Owning a 130 trinket helps massively too.
This card is already 8 fights in and hasn't started the ppv portion yet? Can't see a thing but understand just 4 left.
Andrade gets his standard issue distance decision, very wide on the cards. Nicholson stayed in gritty and Andrade felt it a little bit more in small spots than the numbers indicated but as advertised result at the end. Couldn't make out the interview but think Andrade did some random yelling again.
Villa is a massive wide but glacial like presence. Not getting off too much at all. Ellis cannot have a minute of let down but pot shotting that jab all night. If Villa has a gas tank and eventually lights a fire under himself he may be pretty dangerous.
Evening chaps. This is a little one sided but a decent enough undercard fight I suppose.
Ellis pressured into some blind exchanges there in 9th he looked buzzed in corner. Strong pressure from Villa but not hard to catch. Ellis looked a little Eddie Hopson just for a second :-X;D
Big KD for Villa in 12th! Ellis fighting very fractured this second half and catches up. Ellis might as well be hitting him with water balloons. The fight finally showed up!
Ohh down again! Damn mane. 10-7 for the challenger to end the round. Nice quality hook
Someone got rich tonight, Villa via majority decision! Wow. 113-113 114-112 X2.
Turns out it was a much better than average undercard fight. Bad matchmaking as it turns out.
Random but not sure it's needed for network faces who judge fights to be on giving out strategy for online betting odds.
and they need to stop using the term "boogeyman". Just hasn't carried well overtime ;D
Ennis still catches some rights down the middle, just can't deny that. But looking very poised and gauging it here. Karen fella with decent 1st
A boy named Sue is coming into this.
Sue had one good round (fourth?) and then seemed to give up and then started fighting again in the twelfth.
i'm really happy for roiman but i had that a draw. karen didn't come to try to win. demetrius is so feather fisted. tank's power separates him from his opponent once again
