bruce ‘shu-shu’ carrington
the twenty-five-year-old unbeaten american featherweight prospect is currently five & zero, including three knockouts. bruce had an eleven-year amateur career, only going forty-four wins, twenty-five loses, he was the twenty twenty u.s. olympic trials champion at one hundred & twenty-five pounds. the vast experience has set shu-shu up for a great start as a professional & his style seems better suited to the paid ranks. bruce holds an amateur win over duke ragan who earned a silver medal at the tokyo olympics. he is said to have started boxing at age seven. bruce is signed with top rank who will continue to build on shu-shu’s momentum. please take a look

Re: bruce ‘shu-shu’ carrington
He's just a face in the game. I see nothing truly special about him. He will pick up a belt or two, but I don't see super stardom on him. He has some talent.

Re: bruce ‘shu-shu’ carrington
More impressed with Carrington each time out. Important to keep push/hype in prospective in not even 2 years pro yet but he does have a special feel to him. Top Rank is not shy about matching guys tough and their best laid plans for 125 unifications were dumped on their head watching Robeisy Ramirez upset. On a side note the WBO have dropped Robeisy completely from top 15 ???. That has to be a misprint. Unless he's stated intent to go 130?! But Shu Shu has to be watching Ford getting a title shot and licking his chops!

Re: bruce ‘shu-shu’ carrington
Carrington has a sweet left hook, reminiscent of Oba Carr.

Lil Sug-Sug for Sugar-Sugar, it's an abbreviation for it

I see a break out 2024 for Carrington
-
Re: bruce ‘shu-shu’ carrington
Talk about timing. He shot up 3 spots in the wbo rankings the day before his fight last week :cwm13:. But have to say it's totally warranted. Think his next couple of fights and how matched will be pretty revealing. Maybe we get a 'now or never' type showdown with recently deposed champ Robeisy Ramirez.

i'd like to see shushu fight someone like ruben villa next

I think (hope) we might see something eventually materialize out of the upcoming Lopez v Abe card. Couple of belts on the line. Always weary of fast-tracking a guy but have the feeling 126 is about to get real busy.

Re: bruce ‘shu-shu’ carrington
yeah with naoya potentially moving up to feather next year the division could be a lot of fun

Re: bruce ‘shu-shu’ carrington

Re: bruce ‘shu-shu’ carrington
Deserves it but basically the wbo left him where he was just a day prior to his last fight. If Ball goes for wba Ford as has been talked about I wonder if the wbc drops him from #1. Feels like 9th for Carrington is just prepositioning to skyrocket.

Re: bruce ‘shu-shu’ carrington
Pretty entertaining fight last night and stiffest test to date for Carrington. Segawa started awkward and deceptively physical on the inside knowing how to use the shoulders and hips etc. He'd get off loopy quick shots and then clench up and it was not a good spot for Carrington. He actually rattled Carrington in the opening round with a clean fast left-right hand. Bruce found his stride mid rounds but was still thinking out loud and over studying Segawa, he had a time getting in and fully solving the puzzle most of the night and jab remained underutilized. Work rate of southpaw Segawa was high and late on he started boxing more and held his own. Both did some posing and gabbing late, Carrington even dropping his hands and sticking out his tongue which was odd for a guy who has been so zeroed and focused thus far. Carrington closed decent enough, punch selection was there coming forward and Segawa chose to completely blow the 10th and final round on the backfoot doing little. A couple of these rounds were honestly coin flips, both had moments but tbh Segawa kept Carrington in check and made it very difficult to get any momentum flowing. Good fight I ended up with a 95-95 draw but can see a case either way by a point or two. He can take a lot from this fight and this is why they fight the fights. A very much needed test for Shu Shu who is being fast tracked mentioned in the Rafael Espinoza v Robeisy Ramirez rematch winner scenario for a title. Shu Shu sits at #2 #2 and #1 in three of the 4 bodies. He's going to be doing some learning going forward.

Re: bruce ‘shu-shu’ carrington
Hot and cold on this one. Fully think Shu Shu is it-it but this feels more like insurance move to grab interim aka "a belt" and show out. Here again...a fighter rocketed to #1 rank largely based on promise and clear talent but also doing exactly what he's been expected to do vs the opposition. Shu Shu can face better at this stage and I think he beats better. Heita isn't ranked by the Wbo yet he's about to compete for numero uno :-X. The final card for Top Rank on Espn too. Best I can tell this is last card scheduled on network TV going forward. Man. Don't care if you're 20 or 55 years old...that is not good.

Re: bruce ‘shu-shu’ carrington
shu shu fighting for the wbc interim title, while current champion stephen fulton has been active & hasn't even announced his next fight or if he is moving up, the wbc also has rey vargas as champion in recess. they just created this interim title for shu shu
-
Re: bruce ‘shu-shu’ carrington
Fulton needs to get busy and relevant again. He is a good boxer and can get compete with the best and win a world title again.

My mistake it all gets messy with these titles and sub titles. Rey Vargas is the champ but will probably move up. They need to strip him.
-
Re: bruce ‘shu-shu’ carrington
it does get messy. they already made rey champion in recess, that how stephen got his belt
-
Re: bruce ‘shu-shu’ carrington
sounds like o’shaquie foster v stephen fulton is done for the august sixteen tank vs lamont roach undercard
