Really a bummer but leaves time for decent replacement if Ortiz goes forward. Rough start so far with some of the more appealing fights falling out.

Is imo a lowkey 'big' fight that isn't getting the push it merits, could care less about politics involved. But If Vergil just waited as mandatory, would we be watching him vs Bud rather than possibly Rocha. Stanionis isn't a stranger in TX and had them going nuts vs Butaev. Approach of Ortiz will be interesting here.

Ortiz struck with Rhabdomyolysis flare up again as he was this time last year. Not sure if it's the weight cutting making it more probable but clearly a lifelong ailment putting his future in and out of the ring in total jeopardy. Really a shame for both fighters involved and loss of one of the few big serious fights 147 is offering.

Sounds like a hopeful best case scenario date. But have to wonder when he at least attempts moving up? He's going to retain the mindset and driven training norms but not sure weight benefits or risks with condition.

Think we have to conclude that this match up is snake bitten. Called off yet again as Ortiz falls ill and back in hospital. At this point not sure moving up to 154 will resolve his serious condition. Time to move on for Stanionis who has also torn thru 3 separate camps himself with nothing to show. Real disappointment all around.
