Carlos Adames vs Julian Williams Showtime

Triple header tomorrow night on Showtime. Like the match for names sake but these two are streaking in opposite lanes in terms of direction. Adames is hitting some momentum at 160 and Williams is coming up after back to back tough defeats and the ol beard looks like it's showing some cracks. Interim wbc belt up for grabs. Williams chin questions early and Adames stamina questions late. Fully expect J Rock to pool everything he has left and make a major push but unless Adames implodes in the moment his power and pressure should prove too much.

Fernando Daniel Martinez defends the ibf Super Fly strap vs Jade Bornea 18-0 from the Philippines. 'Pumita' is a fun fighter to watch. Erickson Lubin comes off a 2022 FOTY candidate and a very harsh tko loss and faces Luis Arias. Long layoff may benefit Lubin it'll be very interested to see how he looks.

Well... I don't do DAZN. So I'll be watching these fights tonight. ;D

Good first round. ;D I'd probably give Bornea the edge based on how he closed the round. Has the makings of a good fight. Love these little guys! ;D

Like Martinez 1st, got close last minute with Bornea landing good body. But overall lot of his early work was caught on gloves.

Is crazy to have the only title fight opening in 3rd slot. No respect for the little dudes :-X. Ioka beat Franco earlier in rematch but was it even picked up for air?

Martinez doesn't throw punches like a guy who only has 8 knockouts in 15 fights. But then Argentines are known for their free-swinging, go-for-the-home-run style. ;D

Pretty even round, with the edge to Martinez. 1-1

Carlos Adames looks exactly like Chris Colbert here ???. Like Martinez in 2nd it's heating up.

Man... these rounds are so close. The 3rd I'd give to Bornea (2-1 Jade). But I could see it totally the other way.

Better 3rd for Bornea answering in small combos to body on occasion.

Def ebbs and flows. Bornea did well to steady things in 7th, gave it all back and more. Has a big golf ball growing under his left eye though.

Ok so more the lobe not fully lacerated from top.

7-3 Martinez in a fight that 'feels' closer than it may end up. Bornea still with a couple good combos but the physicality and bigger lumber is Martinez. Just not much on Bornea punches. His right eye starting to go too :-X

Definitely not a fight to be sitting ringside. :-X

The busted ear seems to have definitely turned the fight totally in Martinez's favor. 7-3 Martinez

Ref stops the fight. I thought the ref did a good job throughout. Bornea was game... but that ear was definitely hampering him.

Nah Abner Mares missing it a bit. Wasn't 'just' the ear but respects gritty Bornea. Showed up and made it complicated early

Tough break for Bornea. I had Martinez comfortably ahead... but some of those early rounds were really, really close.

Kownacki is on the dazn card now and he's just so funny to watch, he's fairly good but he just has zero problem getting hit in the head... It's great viewing even if it's not the top Level.

Spr Fly still going strong. Love to see them get the play again even if it's with Dazn. Still have old guard Estrada and Chocolatito and new guard Martinez, Ioka, Nakatani. Make these fights!

Lubin vs Arias up next. Let's hope it's at least as good as the 1st fight. ;D
