Zhanibek Alimkhanuly vs Vincenzo Gualtieri ESPN+ 10/14

So how about that red hot middleweight division eh? On the positive note, it's a division unification. I've liked the potential of Janibek but the irony of this one is there's very little name value, minimal buzz while he's looking to do what so many fans say we need...unifications. Andrade and Munguia wouldn't fight him so here we are. Gualtieri 20-0-1 is taking his first fight out of Germany and is coming a long way to make his first defense of the ibf strap he won in July. This 160 division needs a serious pick me up.

Duke Ragan took one close on the cards and had to get off the canvas for it. Non-descript + portion of the undercard wrapping up now. Guido Hey Yo Vianello trying to bounce back from first loss right now vs musted and dusted Curtis Harper. Actually thought Harper had a spoiler chance early but they have fallen into a walk around and nod fest. Guido trying to put it on in 6th but snoozer.

Woah. Guido had a pause in the corner end of 6th and got clipped while looking for the ref to break things up.

Sloppy 7th but gave it to Harper.

Guido wide on the cards. Tim says he's hit his level, hard to argue with. Everyone's porn-stache heavyweight fire hydrant Richard Torrez Jr up next. Feels like another making sausage opponent here but on paper Tyrrell Anthony Herndon comes with decent 26-4 record. They run the risk of turning Torrez into another Berlanga with all the ko ko ko hype. But he's much more likable ;D. And being honest, not like the heavyweight division is on fire.

Herndon makes it out of 1st looked like that was his sole intention. Did get thru a few straight rights but Torrez is literally on his cheat.

annd down Herndon goes. Slumped on ropes and up at 9. Ref waves it after Herndon spins out with back turned. Herndon in it for the coin.

It'll be interesting when Top Rank decides all of their young heavy prospects are able to fight each other. Mix it up. Anderson, Torrez, Ajagba, Sanchez, Jalolov. Something has to give.

Tszyu card about to go. Was hoping it would be straight to main event being in Oz.

Keyshawn comes in dressed as a wasp? Or a ladybug? Not sure what that was. He's going to start a little quicker than last out. Albright can give him some looks.

Good first round between Albright and Davis. Albright's no slouch... expect a competitive fight.

Sharp round 3rd for Davis. Starting to follow up to the body and output of Albright off.

Hmm... Nahir got rocked there. Levels starting to assert themselves.

Body language and stance looking a little knackerd on Albright. Took an arcing right hand and fell into ropes hard. Love to see Keyshawn press all his gains here. Albright cagey still but falling a step or two behind.

Albright's gonna lose the fight. But his only chance to not get knocked out is to remain as busy as he was in the last round. If he throws single shots Keyshawn's gonna eventually time him and drop him.

Albright saying he cannot see in corner and actually comes out little harder in 8th. Keyshawn little time off here, just in spots. Love the inside switch combos he gets off inside.

Davis stunned Albright... went for the kill... and got stunned himself. Great end of the round!

Ohhh Keyshawn landed and buzzed Albright and then got real corny-careless. Ate a big right hand from Albright but walked thru.

Man. Keyshawn got hit with a very silly right hand, clean. It happens. Hopefully just on this level.

Albright didn't come to just collect his check... but Davis is clearly superior in every way.

Gave Albright that 9th, close.

WTF fight was that one judge watching??

I thought it was practically a shutout.

I don't know Keyshawn. Had it 9-1 dominate. Albright showed up but did have some bluff thru mid fight but took advantage of Keyshawn easing up late. I don't get that.

95-95, 96-94, 97-93 majority for Davis :-X. He flirted with it late.

Yeah... judging seems so random sometimes. You don't know if it's three people actually looking at the fight... or if it's three guys at a bar throwing darts at a chart with different outcomes drawn on it.

Yep no doubt. But Keyshawn should take note. Basically two cards were by my eyes totally BS. But 97-93 too? All three saw something they 'didn't see'. You just cannot coast at this level.

Feeling out round. But I don't see this going the distance.

If Gualtieri is "middleweight" here than I'm Santa Claus ;D. He has a semi plan though trying to trap Janibek.

Janibek 2-0 largely on left whip hook and upper.

Lot of mention on Golovkin and Janibek. Night and day when it comes to that jab. Golovkin had a constant short jackhammer. Janibek almost using it as a throwaway shot so far.

Wobble on Gualtieri off of left right hand. I swear they hand out title belts like brisket samples at Sams club now. Janibek working him over 4.

Janibek stung Gualtieri. Gualtieri appears to have nothing to come back with.

leftish bridge of nose/eye on Gualtieri looks like it's going bad. Rocked in 5th did well to recover. The left upper-hook of Janibek is the real deal.
