Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
Right then ;D
Got the green light from the Guvnor to interview the Hitman next week (19/4/06).
Wanna get everyone on board for this and get some great questions together and the way i see it,The more brains we can get together (question wise) the better it'll be 8)...
Don't want it to be the same boring old sh*t he always gets asked hense the Joint venture.
Obviously i'll be pressing him on boxing matters but a little variation always relaxes the person you interview and you get a better result in my experience.
All serious questions will be considered and im guessing Saddo himself and the mods will probably read through and help select the best ones to use.
Don't miss this exclusive chance to ask the Hitman the questions that you want answered.
Fire away and good luck ;)
And yes....i am a lucky B*stard ;D
Let's go... 8)

Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview

Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
Ask if its true that he will be facing Collazo, Gatti then PBF. I'm kinda curious.
-
Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
What's the story behind "Blue Moon"?
Or if someone here already knows the answer to that, I'd love to hear it.
-
Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
Hatton is a mad for it Manchester City FC supporter and it's the team song/anthem ;)
-
Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview

say to him this,
PBF is afraid of you, and he is easy to hit when scared, if you get his ass in the ring, will you capitalize on his fear and try to stop him early while he is still uncomfortable and scared?

Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
I think to warm up,get him relaxed, you should ask some quick fire questions ie fave boxer of all time, fave footy player, fave part of women's anatomy, worst performance, best fight he 's seen, etc etc just lots of random questions, add some funny ones in too. Then after that, lay into him with the hardcore stuff.
-
Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
Yes, I agree with the warm up session.
I would ask about his weight. Maybe, how much does he walk around at, when not in training. Then maybe tie that in with his future. Something about, how high{weight division} could he go, or see himself going. In case the Mayweather fight never happened, or Mayweather lost, or etc. If he could go to 154 or 160 to challenge some of those guys.
Also, I know it would only be speculation, and hopefully wouldn't come off rude, but if he was to suffer a setback against Collazo, would he stay at 147, drop back to 140. Maybe just get an idea of where his dedication is going, because it only seems to lead to one place=Mayweather.

Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
Could you ask him why smashup is taking so much time putting the Calzaghe interview up ;).
Also, whats his favourite food after the weigh in.

No shat...where is that...I'll bet Hatton knows. ;)
Seriously though...ask him this: Seeing as how your life long goal seems to be the conquest of Floyd Mayweather Jr., what did you see that was worth capitalizing on as far as a weakness goes?
Do you know feel that Mayweather opened himself up for defeat with a certain game plan?
Then ask him if he's eaten any Yank food that's given him the shats yet? ;D
-
Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
Ok i confess ;D
CALZAGHE INTERVIEW HAS BEEN DONE AND IS ON IT'S WAY AND IT'S NEARLY 30 MINUTES LONG 8)
Oh and it's on an Audio file too ;)
Cheers for sticky Wacko mate.
A few of your Questions might acidentally find themselves rather high on the list ;)

Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
ask him weither staying at welter will b a long thing or will he move up to light middle.
-
Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
Ask Ricky if he has any recollections about fighting Jurgen Brahmer in the amateurs. Did Brahmer knock him out, knock him down, or stop him on his feet? Could he tell us about those fights with Brahmer and why he moved up in weight to fight him. Cheers ;)
(Ricky lost in the opening round against Brahmer, 10 years ago, but Brahmer was a 6ft light-middleweight)

Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
Ok I got a few questions.
First the serious ones. Is his move up to welter to face Collazo intended to be permanent or is he just moving up for a chance to go for another title? If Mayweather moves up to 154 as expected will he remain at 147 lb or move back down to 140 to try and force a fight with Cotto or Castillo?
What was his take on the Judah Mayweather fight, did he see any weaknesses in Floyd and would he consider a fight with Zab judah?
Has there ever been any discussion for a rematch with Kosta Tyszu and what does he think of Tyszu pursuing a dancing career?
Also could you ask him about his relationship with Frank Warren now. Is Frank still chasing him through the law courts?
I would also like to know how he feels about his brother Matthew's career and whether they use each other as sparring partners?
Also, Mayweather aside what are his future goals in boxing, i.e 2 or 3 weight world champ, retire at 30 etc?
Finally, please ask him if he can put that picture of him and Bernard Manning sitting in their pants up on his website. I know that photo is what sparked the Ricky Fatton quotes and I've never been able to find it! :P

Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
What does he think of Floyd claiming to be a champ at 4 weights when Ricky was the real champ at JW and he hasnt beaten the "true champ" at WW?
Would he rather have England win the World Cup or Man City win the Premiership?
What's his opinion on the riot in the tenth of PBF Judah?
-
Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
does he get grief off Man United fans around Manchester - do they want him to lose because of his 'blue' blood ?
Also if Mayweather came to Britain and Warren reckoned he could sell 50,000 if fought at Old Trafford, a la Benn Eunbank, would Ricky fight there or refuse seeing as though its the home of the enemy ???

Surely they would go for the Holy grail and try to sell out New Wembley?
-
Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
Hatton will have retired by the time that thing is ready ;)
think they'd keep it up north in his hometown - the Manc fans alone would probably sell the place out
-
Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
First of all beg him not to over look Collazo!!
Is it important to him to become the lineal champ at 147lb?
in other words if he is successful against Collazo will he chase the the winner of Baldomir v Gatti and try to unify?
-
Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
Who in your opinion do you think is gonna be the next british world champion?
Who are your favourite current fighters?
In your opinion who wins (No bias!), Macklin or Moore?
How much longer do you think you will carry on for in boxing?
Who will give you the toughest test 140-147?
Have you and Matt ever had a fight and if so who won!
Pearce for England?

Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
Smash no need for me to tell all here, you know where I'm coming from on this interview here ;)
:coolclick: mate!!

Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
Why hasn't he fought Junior Witter yet? Who's hit you the hardest? What do you think is the best punch in your arsenal? Whats the highest weight you'll fight at(154 147 etc)
-
Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
Nice one,
can you ask him what would be his 3 preferred next fights be.
-
Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
Meant to ask in my last post.
Will you ask him in his words what happened with Frank Warren
-
Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
can you ask him, when in the pipeline a fight with PBF might take place? and at what weight would it be?
what does hatton see in PBF that he can take advantage of? what specific flaws has he spotted in the formidable mayweather arsenal?

Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
Can you ask him how he sees his career ending and if he plans on one last big fight at the City of Manchester Stadium (MCFC Home Ground) in front of all the manchester faithfull :lickish:
-
Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
mine are more so advice than questions:
1)Please have him promise to fight PBF ASAP! From what I read the soonest they'll fight will be at the END of 07!!!!!!!! not even in the beginning but the END?????? damn mine as well push it back to 08 at that rate.
2) If he must have keep busy or tune ups have them with opponents we give a F about such as: Cotto, Tony, etc. Gatti to me is kind of like WHY???? Yes it will give him recognition, but it will only slow down the PBF showdown.
3)Please tell him to change his hairstyle if he wants to blow up in the USA. We Americans are biased on who we end up loving based on how cool/tough/smooth a man's hair is. Tell him to get a nice clean fade from the round the way barbershop.
4) Tell him he should fight his big/super/mega bouts only in SIN CITY. Thats the key to really blow up to have his pasty white asss splattered all over the MGM jumbotron, Wynn, Caesars Palace etc etc.
5) watch out not to get pimped by Don King and his evil ways. if Don King happens to win a bid to promote any of his bouts he better roll deep with his bodyguards, lawyers and his lawyer's lawyers.
6) as much as possible dont let his fights go the distance. if he really wants to blow up in the USA he gotta not only make people quit on the stool but make them sleep or do "dances".
oh yeah and cool click you lucky bastard!!!!!!!!

Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
We're always talking about USA and Europe... ask him if he's ever been to Canada, and if so, how'd he like it here? What does he think about the people? The boxing scene? etc. Just don't ask him about the weather.
Also, if he had to name a single quality or attribute that will help a man/woman succeed in boxing, what would it be? Courage, speed, power, toughness, dedication, etc
What does he recommend a young boxer do to accumulate such massive stamina? Many boxers do their roadwork... but Ricky's stamina is beyond many's.
-
Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
Ask him if he's ever hit a 9 dart finish? :kar:
-
Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
LET'S KEEP IT SERIOUS YEAH PEOPLE ;)
-
Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
Ask him if he has ever been soundly beaten by anybody or were his amateur defeats close decisions?
-
Re: Saddoboxing World exclusive...... Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton interview
The hitman said something a while back about breaking the states together with Calzaghe, I'd like to know how much Joe's relationship with Frank Warren would jeopardize a Ricky Hatton/Joe Calzaghe doubleheader (and wow what if we got that doubleheader on a regular basis).
