Naoya Inoue v Ye Joon Kim
Japanese world champion Naoya Inoue will defend his undisputed super-bantamweight titles against Sam Goodman on 24 December in Tokyo.
Undefeated Inoue, 31 is a four-weight world champion and one of boxing's pound-for-pound stars.
Nicknamed the 'Monster' for his record of 25 knockouts in 28 wins, he beat Ireland's TJ Doheny by stoppage in September.
Australian Goodman, 26, has won all 19 of his fights.
The bout at Ariake Arena has been billed as 'Nightmare on Christmas Eve', with Inoue's WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO belts on the line.

Sam Goodman ?

I've read that some ppl seriously think Goodman ends the Inoue sushi train. But Inoue will torpedo Goodman, midships & send him to the bottom of Wollongong Harbour. Man down!
Inoue will turn Goodman into Deadman. You need either serious power or great athleticism to beat Inoue, and Goodman doesn't have neither of those attributes. Inoue gives him an atomic wedgie on the steps of the Tokyo Metropolitan library.
Re: Naoya Inoue v Sam Goodman
i like sam but i don't think he's ready for naoya. i think his team were hoping naoya would move up & he'd get a shot at a vacant belt
Re: Naoya Inoue v Sam Goodman
4th fight in 12 months for Inoue. His biggest fights could come against fighters at weights below him. Featherweight was anticipating his move up. Staying put and waiting for Nakatani and Rodriguez, both who should be considered P4P, is the better move.

Re: Naoya Inoue v Sam Goodman
sam goodman has suffered a cut & the fight has been postponed to january twenty fourth

Rodriguez is my favorite fighter these days, his skills might be the best in the game. But he needs 2/3 years to grow up to 122, and he admits that
Re: Naoya Inoue v Sam Goodman
sam opened his cut again in sparring, fight is off. toshiki shimomachi was scheduled to fight on the undercard, he'd be a good replacement

Re: Naoya Inoue v Sam Goodman
Fucking shame. He’s already been off for longer than he would’ve liked.
Re: Naoya Inoue v Sam Goodman
Sky have this fight on Friday starting at 8am so awkward time for me to watch. They should have some consideration.
Re: Naoya Inoue v Sam Goodman
Ye-Joon Kim out of South Korea coming in two weeks out. Hard pressed to fill the corner and don't know a thing about Kim. Watched some clips and he's traveled, has fought in Japan before and has gone 12. Throws from all angles and looks strong. But that's about it. Unfortunately his head sits up front high like an enthusiastic piñata. No going the distance :-X with Inoue I'm afraid. It's on a Friday rather than a Tuesday also. Just realized this is the 6th time missing Inoue fight "live" over last 7 fights. Love to see him fight in a time zone that isn't 5 AM on a workday again ;D.
Re: Naoya Inoue v Ye Joon Kim
Excellent contest Shimomachi wins by majority decision, there were multiple knockdowns in the fight.
Re: Naoya Inoue v Ye Joon Kim
Narai wins a split decision. Another good contest.
The Japanese fighters are so respectful. Really classy to see their humility.
One boxer has just apologised in the ring for being injured and pulling out of his fight.
Re: Naoya Inoue v Ye Joon Kim
Inoue destroys Kim in 4 rounds. It was predictable but good to see Monster in action and throwing signed T shirts into the crowd.
It keeps Arum going who is saying Inoue is coming to Vegas next. Wonder who he will take on next.
Re: Naoya Inoue v Ye Joon Kim
alan picasso's name has been mentioned as possibly being next

Re: Naoya Inoue v Ye Joon Kim
Kim encouraging Inoue on……be careful what you wish for. :) not that it makes a blind bit of difference, but did you hear the count? 1,2,3,4,7!
Re: Naoya Inoue v Ye Joon Kim
naoya inoue's left hook to the body looks just like eddie mustafa muhammad's left hook to the body. thats a really, really sneaky punch.
Re: Naoya Inoue v Ye Joon Kim
JCC Superstar, Ricky Hatton, Mickey Ward had great left hooks to the body.

And Maccarinelli.
Re: Naoya Inoue v Ye Joon Kim
Inoue is the REAL p4p #1, and has been for a LONG time. He's beaten an impressive array of dangerous fighters, and doesn't duck anybody. The only problem I see is his not fighting in the US more. Hopefully that comes to an end soon, as they're talking about him facing David Picasso in Vegas in June. Super impressive how he went to super bantam to crush Stephen Fulton, and two fights later beat the crap out of bad boy Luis Nery. Wonder how high his ceiling goes.
Re: Naoya Inoue v Ye Joon Kim
I've had Usyk as my P4P #1 for a long time, with Inoue as a worthy challenger to the throne and Crawford at #3, largely due to activity.
Re: Naoya Inoue v Ye Joon Kim
Usyk is my #2, but you can definitely make a good case for each. Usyk's run in heavyweight is nothing short of remarkable, and he gets all the credit in the world. For me it's still The Monster, though. ;D
