WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
-
Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
JUDAH :lickish:
I thought you'd enjoy that...
In all seriousness, I'd say De La Hoya and Gatti.
-
Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
IT HAS TO GATTI IN ATLANTIC CITY OR HATTON IN ENGLAND.
-
Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
i think ODH probably is :(
-
Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
It's definitely ODH. The numbers speak for themselves.

Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
I would say Jones jr(Because want to see what happens next)Manny Pac,Joe Calzaghe or Ricky Hatton.
-
Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
Delahoya, hands down. All his fights are sellouts, and his PPV fights do the biggest numbers.
-
Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
Oscar De La Hoya. And sadly, Mike Tyson even outside the ring.
-
Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
Oscar
Gatti
Hatton
Cotto
Mayweather is seemingly in the running.
-
Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
Oscar (everywhere)
Gatti (In Atlantic City)
Hatton (In England)
Cotto(IN Puerto Rico)
this is what the list should say.
And Mayweather once only sold less then 1000 tickets at home :(
-
Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
Tyson "vs" jenna jameson.............whatever happened to that "fight"?
-
Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
Hatton would sell probably 40,000+ at Man City's stadium, in a flash.

yeah, but he wouldn't sell half as many worldwide PPV buys as ODH. he certainly hasn't so far.
-
Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
HATTON in his back yard IS de La HoYA! Obviously the biggest by a country mile are Oscar and Tyson is probably the biggest of all time! Tito and Cotto have almost fanatical support and they get REALLY loud cheers! Pacquaio is a star too! Disagree with Mayweather,I don't think he is a big seller at all,the Judah fight was more the appeal of 2 "gangsters",East v West type of thing rather than who was actually fighting! It could have been any 2 brothers as long as they had the hip-hop appeal.

Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
'Just wanna update this 3 year old thread. Reading these old posts always fascinates me. It's like a teleporting time machine thing. Lol. But anyways, I think Pac is the biggest draw in boxing right now.

i never would have guessed.
go to the pac forums and talk to your fellow boyfriends about this.

Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
Another pointless bump of an old thread to push an agenda, rather than serve any kind of worthwhile discussion

-
Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
Forgot all about DD - he was a proper sinister dude lol
-
Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
the best sellers today would be mayweather, pacquaio, hatton, and de la hoya, if he came back.. i'm probably missing someone obvious but those are the main fighters that the general public know of where if they saw a billboard or commercial they would actually notice it.
-
Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
Well boo-hoo-hoo cry babies! I guess we need to move this thread to Pac forum now huh? Lol!

His Benn and Eubank obsession was different class.
He must be inside or dead. Either is good for the public.

Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
- Pacquiao
- Hatton

I see him at B o x i n g s c e n e about 7 months ago, his name there is Orange Sneakers or something. And he's still in great form doing his Eubank, Benn, obsession there aswell, could still be on there but i haven't checked B o x i n g s c e n e. In ages only to get fights on the hidden section, or to get fight links.

Orange SNEAKERS? Surprised if a crazy Brit like DD would use the American term sneaker. :-\

What was his Benn Eubank obsession?
He used to post millions of threads about the two. Especially Eubank.. he idolised him in a sick way.
He had to banned a few times for being insane. Great poster.

If you would like to be saved from yourself and get banned - just ask - or keep posting.
There's only one way this is going to turn out.;)

Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
Klitschko in Germany. He sold 60,000 tickets in his last fight. RIDICULOUS.
-
Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
going by biggest PPV sales, and the one still active after both, it'd be Mayweather, his last two fights had more PPV sales than ANYONE else, Pac didn't even out sell him, even though they had the same last 2 opponants
-
Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
Why is everyone's avatar some person's face? Just wondering. Good job in banning Quintino. Good stuff.
I'd say Jason Litzau fighting some professional hockey player on frozen ice in Minnesota would draw the masses, I certainly would tune in and bet against Litzau. That was what first came to my mind.
Otherwise, Pacquiao is the guy that has the whole country talking and he's pretty close to being a household name at this point. Cotto has a tremendous Puerto Rican following which is great for the main stream NY press but Mexicans famously spend money on fights which Arum has proved with the Latin Fury cards recently and before that, the money he made of De La Hoya who was feverishly supported by Mexicans and Mexican american, it made him boxing's biggest star over guys like Roy Jones and other top Americans. I'm almost positive there would have been more Mexicans then not for Marquez' fight with Mayweather had it gone on. With PPV the appeal is arguable though, it's hard to tell who draws more PPV buys since we just don't know where those buys come from. I would think Mayweather would be the one who drew more buys.
But really it's Pacquiao unquestionably and the guy who could potentially be the biggest draw will have to win it away from him (Mayweather, Cotto, Marquez, ect.) But the Litzau idea should be left opened and maybe subsituted with a Malignaggi type or someone of that ilk. Perez Hilton that fat queen maybe, who the fuck likes this guy?

In different economies, nevertheless I believe MAyweather is the bigger star, and that more people know about him in the states than about Manny.

That makes it 2 Pachuggers to be banned in a week's span. Keep it up! This place is getting better by the ban...
-
Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
The biggest Boxing draws are pretty much still the same as three years ago.
Hatton, Pacquiao, Mayweather, and you could even throw Kelly Pavlik in there, he has a fanbase that follows him and sells out Atlantic City.
-
Re: WHO IS THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING TODAY?
Hatton could still sell out somewhere like wembley stadium with 90 thousand plus if required.
Not sure if pacquiao could manage that in the phillipines, other than him nobody comes close to hattons popularity
-

Most Americans don't even know who Hatton was until he fought Mayweather. And most still don't even know who he is. Hatton may be popular in Britain but not the world or even America. The only famous Brit that Americans know is probably David Beckham and probably Hugh Grant.

Id doubt many americans would know the likes of manny pacquiao or oscar de la hoya either.
But their phillipino and mexican/american fans alone make them massive hits just like hatton and his legion of supporters do.
Could floyd mayweather sell out at his local football stadium if he fought there?? i doubt it
