Maybe he would get caught but because some come from some awesome crazy angeles,you are unable to guard against ALL of them and therefore more likely to get hurt because it is the punches you don't see coming which hurt!

Margarito has a chin. What he doesnt have is good defense, that's why we know he has a good chin when he hasn't fought anyone good, basically.....
I hope Margaritos better than that video makes him look. If not, hes asking to be schooled. He's wide open up the middle. It would seem most people are asking if any of his potential foes can withstand his assault. It looks like he punches hard... but it also looks like he misses big. Any boxer with a good jab could keep that guy off balance all night and kill his punch output and at least halve the number of punches he lands. Add counter punching to that and he will get schooled.
Not trying to take shots at the margarito fans... but please someone tell me he's better than that video makes him look.
Undisputed u make a whole lot of sense, he looks amateurish and would get schooled by a good discipline boxer such as Mayweather, or even oscar Delahoya they would make him miss all night.

Margarito's worthy of a shot but even though you shouldn't judge him if you all you've ever seen is one 20 second highlight film, there's no doubt he's got some technical flaws, he's too wide.
He'd just have to wear down Floyd, Floyd probably won't be able to hurt him and he does throw from some odd angles and when Floyd's been stunned its usualy from an odd angle.

Marg wearing Floyd down he would have to hit him. And Margarito is only real active because he has a target to hit. He fights a boxer that moves and he will be in trouble.
All of margarito's opponents with the exception of Santos, have been fighters with little or no defense, that stand right in front and trade with him.
He will look spectacular against anyone who is there to be hit.
He fights someone who isn't there to be hit he will look average at best.
I was a Margarito fan, till he fought Santos for the second time and I found out what he was.
But I was with him when he warred with that guy on Shobox, I was for him when he beat Andrew Lewis, I was rooting my head off when he beat Hercules, and I thought he would knock out Santos I wanted to see him vs. Mayorga soo bad!!!
But once he fought Santos I saw what he was.
Name one fighter that Margarito has fought, a fighter that used a jab and moved and used defense. Name me one fighter Margarito has beaten that did that.
OK, now name me any tall fighter that has tried to come forward on Floyd Mayweather throwing punches from awkward angles.

Err someone who Floyd has fought that throws as many punches as Margarito,as big and powerul as him,ummm...no -one. You could take bits of Chevez and Castillo,add in some weird angles and that's Margarito I guess. If someone is throwing 6,7,8 punches,regardless who he is fighting,they are going to get hit.
J_Undisputed,yes he can be countered but that does not stop him,he will walk through the 1 counter punch thrown and throw 6 of his own and it's not as if he is open through the middle allll the time.
CC.that's why I give Tony a chance,Floyd has been hit by shots from weird angles before,Chavez did it with a looping right too on a few occasions and ok,Floyd will be countering but rest assured,when Tony connects with one from a weird angle,he's not letting Floyd off the hook!! Floyd always has periods in fights when he is on the ropes,but Tony is no Chico Corrales,he won't stand and stare,he will pound to the body,the head. I agree that is a possibilty BUT I have faith in Tony and even if he has to swing to get Floyd,he will get there. CC to the both of you, but my point is this. You can't walk through a counter and still expect a much faster, slicker fighter to stand around waiting for you to drop 6 bombs on him. A technician doesnt have to kill you, in order to beat you. All he has to do is use his jab, speed and counters up the middle to keep you off balance and not let you plant your feet. Trust me, if theres anything I learned in a "20 second highlight film".. its that Margarito needs to plant his feet to be useful.Quote:

I also believe Tony learnt how to cut the ring off effectively when he sparred(and beat up Oscar,and it was no old Oscar) One aspect of Tony's game which is under rated is his counters,he is very good at countering,one of his opponents also stated this before they fought. He will go over any jab. Another thing he has in his favour,a massive advantage is that at some point,Mayweather will be on the ropes,he likes to duck and slip but Tony's physicality and sheer brute force won't allow him to get away unharmed! Margarito can use the jab well when he wants to,awesome output which increases after round 6,weird angled shots,effective cutting off the ring and countering are all vital factors.Not to mention his size,and very good chin. No offence,but you make out as if he is NEVER going to land but trust me,no matter how fast you are or how good you D is,if someone is throwing 6-10 at a time,you may counter and block,but the other guy WILL make contact!!

If you throw 6-10 and he counters you after before or after 1 or 2 and circles out or clinches... 2 or 3-10 are irrelevent. This is the best lb for lb fighter in the world your matching him up with , not derrick gainer. Floyds not going to counter and stand there on the ropes and wait for a barrage of punches from a big banger like its a bus stop.
I'm not saying Margarito isnt going to land any punches... But the wide shots he throws and using blinda aggression instead of smart pressure will get him schooled. Any boxer would look to exploit margaritos flaws and use his aggression against him. He would be fighting the best, meaning it would happen more often and probably more cleanly than with anyone else. I'm not trying to burts any bubbles for the margarito fans... All i am saying is, for all the people that are looking for a mayorga performance against Lewis or Forrest shouldnt be unprepared for a Floyd/Corrales, Spinks/Mayorga or a Raheem/ Morales fight.
