I read this, and that his opponent put something on twitter basically saying "I don't care, let's fight anyways". Not familiar with the guy at all, but he was a silver medalist and is supposed to be a real talent, so obviously this would have been a huge opportunity for him to springboard his career, sucks for him more than anyone I'm sure.
I don't think anyone is really going to support Kovalev through this, I mean he's pretty much at the end of the line anyways and it sounds like the fight will likely be off.

Maybe he knows he's at the end of the road and has gotten desperate? As far racist actions? I'm not aware of them, have heard he used some choice words, but I don't use words as a barometer for racism. Maybe bias, prejudiced? I'm just old school; i only refer to the word racism/racist when it involves as the poster stated (actions) Would like to be brought up to speed if he has shown such actions.
Unless its violence, his racist/biased tendencies won't stop me from viewing his fights. If that were my criteria, I wouldn't turn on a television.

I was a follower of Kov for a few years -bar his Hopkins fight. I refused to watch it- felt Hop went to the well once to often. Seen highlights and nothing else.
With that said, I am still curious to see what Kov has left.
Personally, I think Canelo ruined him and this fight would tell me. The kid is 6-0 24 years old? Man talk about a once solid champion losing credibility, reduced to gatekeepers.
Side note- anyone know if his relationship with J.D. Jackson ended ok, bad?
You could argue Andre Ward ruined him not Canelo.
Ward did ruin Kovalev.
The first fight should still have been a draw at least!

I have no issues with what John said, if it is true, I can't use that as a reason to not watch him. Borderline anything means that person is at the edge and hasn't dove in. Was he reared that way? If so not his fault totally. I cant use that as a basis to say I won't watch him.
If I do, IMO i give just due for whites to claim racism with (words) I refuse to do that. That dilutes the meaning, IMO.

'I stated PEDS in regards to his weaknesses, I never said PEDS dont work.
I acknowledged he GOT KTFO'd.
With PEDS he can become strong as hell or gain crazy stamina endurance, heal quicker, then I asked: What difference does that make if Kov's chin can't hold up?;D

I take into account guys like Pacman accused of it by Floyd, yet it didnt stop Bradley from going the distance, didnt stop Horn, didnt stop JMM 3x. In that regards if he really used it- how did it help?
Of course PEDS can work in boxing, it worked for Shane Mosely -for endurance, we saw his rate drop when he fought Floyd- via tested.
I never said they didnt work, I stated some young dude 6-0 wants to fight him with PED or without...he himself is stating- it will take more than PEDS for a near 40 year fighter named Kov to beat him!O0
