Regis Prograis-vs-Josh Taylor/Chisora-Price - SKY/DAZN
Hearns looking to stick this on his show along with Josh Kelly v Robinson 2 and an Okolie fight.
Decent card if true

Re: Regis Prograis vs. Josh Taylor on Chisora v Parker bill.
As long as the fight happens I don’t really care. It’s just a slap in the face to make it the go feature to a pretty worthless fight.

Re: Regis Prograis vs. Josh Taylor on Chisora v Parker bill.
How does Chisora keep getting big fights? Dude has gotten more big fights for no reason than Khan
-
Re: Regis Prograis vs. Josh Taylor on Chisora v Parker bill.
As long as it happens, so minus the whole wbss? Might save some coin on that trophy. Glad Robinson is getting another crack. Parker and Chisora rings like a bit of a dud but can see it for local consumption.

Chisora has good connections, and Haye as his manager.
Another PPV, great.

this is what needed to happen, can't wait

Re: Regis Prograis vs. Josh Taylor on Chisora v Parker bill.
This was the best news of the entire night. Great fight. Great venue. A proper 50/50 potential P4P job. However, the crowd cheered louder when Chisora-Parker was announced. I felt a bit embarrassed for Taylor and boxing nerds. Says it all.
-
Re: Regis Prograis vs. Josh Taylor on Chisora v Parker bill.
Taylor will be a bigger name now he's fighting with matchroom
And chisora deserves the fights, it's a fight that interests me so he still has appeal at least with some
I wouldn't have paid for it tho, PPV is getting ridiculous, it's every fight that's bigger than next gen or mild domestic, I'd have given up on it by now without a doubt, I'll watch it mind you because I have some dodgy shit in my house
-
Re: Regis Prograis vs. Josh Taylor on Chisora v Parker bill.
With all these ppv's it is not worth having a sky subscription any more.

Issue is I watch football and rugby too, if boxing was my only sport and I didn't have the dodgy shit in my house I wouldn't get sky, probably, appreciate boxing is on a high n all but it's gone too far
Even itv are putting fights on PPV

Definitely getting worse with the ppv's, BT have joined the act as well. Just need channel 5 to do it now. :)

Re: Regis Prograis vs. Josh Taylor on Chisora v Parker bill.
This is one of the best battles currently possible. Choosing a winner is very difficult. I like Taylor a little. Parker defeats Chisora easily
-
Re: Regis Prograis vs. Josh Taylor on Chisora v Parker bill.
Geez having trouble picking a winner here. I'm a fan of both guys. Right now, slight edge to Prograis, but I go back and forth.

Re: Regis Prograis vs. Josh Taylor on Chisora v Parker bill.
I'm a fan of Taylor, but some of the stuff he was saying was pointless. Bringing up the headlock thing like it meant something, when it was all fun and games, then trying to imply Prograis was trying to get out of the tournament. If Prograis had deadlines, then they needed to be met, once they were, fight was on. I'm sure Prograis would have preferred not to travel, but he doesn't seem like the type to avoid anyone. He was the smallest (and only) guy in the room to stand up to Chisora, while Taylor sat quietly.
-
Re: Regis Prograis vs. Josh Taylor on Chisora v Parker bill.
The head lock comment was tongue in cheek, even Prograis knew it, remember these interviews are carefully orchestrated, directed and edited, there's lots of stuff cut out. It is obvious they have 100% respect, the only little differences are Taylor has an old school Brit mentality (we wouldn't say we're a superstar even if we believed it) whereas Prograis is a typical super confident American who believes the limelight is his destiny.
Prograis has done more press in London than any fighter ever, I can't believe how much media he's done, he's literally been like a tourist. And come across as a great guy to boot.
-
Re: Regis Prograis-vs-Josh Taylor/Chisora-Price - SKY/DAZN
Off the top probably the fight I'm most anticipating this year. Can't see the vid from here but these guys are two of the most genuinely confident fighters going. I like Prograis to win but honestly wonder about him giving up his head in spots in order to 'show' what is very solid defense. He gets real loose at times. A body shot clinic either way this one.

Re: Regis Prograis-vs-Josh Taylor/Chisora-Price - SKY/DAZN
I’m anticipating this match up more than I did for the Beterbiev and Gvozdyk one. Both are fights which are huge for hardcore fans but casuals have no idea about

True but hopefully this will elevate both fighters into super stardom because they deserve it.

I think Nelson was trying to make something out of it, Taylor kinda played along and Prograis shut it down for what it was. Taylor was trying to stare and intimidate, but as Prograis showed with Chisora, he will not be imtimidated by anyone. I agree the is 100% respect between them. Prograis has been fantastic in promotion. Both guys are a credit to the sport and the fac they have this platform is perfect.

Re: Regis Prograis-vs-Josh Taylor/Chisora-Price - SKY/DAZN
Regis Prograis says he's too smart of a fighter for Josh Taylor: 'My style will give him fits'
Regis Prograis was discussing how he felt his style could cause Josh Taylor problems when they meet Saturday at the O2 Arena in London for the Muhammad Ali Trophy in the finale of the World Boxing Super Series’ super lightweight tournament.
As he spoke, a thought hit him and he paused.
“He’s a good fighter, no doubt about it,” Prograis said. “He’s tall, he’s long, he does have decent power. He can fight on the inside [and he has] good body shots. I just think my style will give him fits, to be honest with you. I think styles make fights and I think my style is really going to give him trouble. I mean, my style is … ”
He didn’t complete the thought and instead regrouped, because it dawned on him that one of the reasons for his success is his ability to adapt to the occasion.
He’s a pressure fighter when he needs to be. He’s a boxer when he wants to be. He has a diverse game with a great understanding of how to break down an opponent.
“Think of it this way: He has 15 fights and I have 24, and if you look at our fights, all 15 of his are the same, and he’s doing the same thing in every one of them, over and over,” Prograis said. “Most of my 24 fights, they all look different. What I did against [Terry] Flanagan was different than what I did against [Juan Jose] Velasco and what I did against [Julius] Indongo was way different than what I did against either of them.
“I know what he’s going to do, because he does the same thing every time, over and over. I understand why he doesn’t switch things up from time to time, maybe, because it all works for him. But against a smart fighter like me, he’s going to have problems because he doesn’t have any idea what I’m going to do.”
On paper, the bout is one of the most compelling of the year. Kalle Sauerland, the chief boxing officer of the WBSS, calls the match “the caviar of boxing.”
“It’s a 50-50 fight between the No. 1 and No. 2 in the division,” Sauerland said. “It’s one of those fights that’s got ‘Fight of the Year’ written all over it. It’s going to be fireworks, that’s for sure.”
Taylor (15-0, 12 KOs) will be the fifth opponent among Prograis’ past 11 who enters the bout without a loss as a professional, though Taylor is clearly a notch above the rest of the men Prograis (24-0, 20 KOs) has met.
For as good as he is, Prograis finds himself in a position much like Marvelous Marvin Hagler was nearly 40 years ago when he went to England to challenge Alan Minter for the WBA-WBC middleweight title at Wembley Arena in London on Sept. 27, 1980.
Hagler was 49-2-2 and hadn’t lost in more than four years, but he’d never held a title and had fought for one only once. He seemed to defeat Vito Antuofermo handily, but the fight was shockingly called a draw.
Hagler had to go to London to fight Minter to get his title and the recognition as one of the best in the game that those within the sport had long since known.
Prograis is one of the most compelling personalities in the sport, as well as one of the best fighters, but he’s not a major name yet. He believes he’s on the verge of a breakthrough.
https://s.yimg.com/it/api/res/1.2/Z0...f-96bc1cd0229d
He is happy to fight in England in front of what he said are among the most astute fans in the world because it will be a coming out party of sorts.
“After this fight, I think I’ll get the respect worldwide that I deserve,” Prograis said. “They are smart fans and they know how good of a fighter Josh Taylor is. And I’m not going to [lie]: The man is a good fighter. No doubt about it. Now, he ain’t me and he ain’t never met no one like me, I’ll tell you that.
“When they see how this fight goes, they’ll realize what I can really do, and I think I’m going to come out of this as an international superstar. This is the type of opponent and situation I always dreamed I’d have and now I’m going to take full advantage.”

On the 26th, I will attend in the All Blacks vs. England Rugby World Cup semi-final. I'm so excited about this battle between Prograis and Taylor, so I hope it won't prevent me from seeing the battle

Re: Regis Prograis-vs-Josh Taylor/Chisora-Price - SKY/DAZN
Taylor is 13/2 for the stoppage (10 returns 75). He is 12 from 15 KOs (80%), stopped a handful of previously never floored dudes and decked Postol and Baranchyk who have never been stopped and both mixed at world level.
However, I also think Prograis - 20 from 24 KOs (83%) - has the perfect style to offset a tall conventional upright boxer like Taylor.
7/4 (10 returns 27.50) either by stoppage.
-
Re: Regis Prograis-vs-Josh Taylor/Chisora-Price - SKY/DAZN
Got 50/1 over the counter of the local bookies for Big Dave to spark Del boy in round 1. Don't have an online account and only put £3 down but may look for some specials closer to Saturday. Whatever happens it isn't going to go 12 and there seems to be a few decent odds on stoppages either way. Nice card to have both ends of the sport represented and am looking forward to it if I don't have to work.

I know you weren't asking me, but the easiest bets I recently made good money on was David Avanesyan and Kov by KO.
With boxing I mostly tend to bet the live dog as the odds are generally sh-t otherwise.

All the evidence is available with a simple search, yes you'd be very much quids in. I never brag or boast about winners or name the stakes (a monkey to one man is peanuts to another). Nothing worst in this world than "aftertimers." Biggest was Prescott to KO Khan @ 100/1.
This one I was proud of though, as I called a huge upset to a tee, and certainly came up trumps ;)

Not such a silly bet Beanz, also imagine as I said in a previous post.
Price who is a huge puncher when he lands big , Ko's DelBoy , Joshua wins the return with Ruiz ( which I don't think he will by the way ) .
Then thinking Price is an easy touch, Joshua fights him and gets chinned, which isn't out of the question.
Odd's are like 5000 - 1 , worth a few quid of any bodies money.
P.S so I didn't see you at the Wynn casino on September 28th ?

No. I was up on Dartmoor photographing a young Ram who thinks he is a goat and a fella chasing a chicken ;D
Always a big fan of the big man who can level anyone with a punch like that. Written off after Thompson and then again after Povetkin, he will always have that chance to end it quickly and Del Boy is not that hard to hit.

Not mad, just very sure if what looked like a very unlikely outcome. It was a good call. I am not so sure Ruiz will be getting up so quickly in the rematch. Joshua is much better than people give him credit for. I see that Mike Tyson is now saying exactly what I said months ago about him. If he believes in his ability a bit more he can actually get away with being less cautious.

Josh Taylor mocks Regis Prograis for struggling to make weight ahead of fight
Josh Taylor mocked opponent Regis Prograis for struggling to make the weight for their super-lightweight unification bout at the O2 Arena on Saturday.
American Prograis, the WBA and WBC champion, needed to take off his shorts before making the 10-stone limit, having initially weighed in at one ounce over.
Scotland’s IBF champion Taylor, who weighed in seven ounces under, told Sky Sports: “I made it easy, he looks like he’s on his feet, dead. He’s getting planted tomorrow. He’s getting planted.
“I’m all good. I’m just ready to fight, nice and relaxed. I can’t wait to go and I can’t wait to do a number on this mouth-piece.
https://s.yimg.com/it/api/res/1.2/QQ...4aea9ada36068e
“I can’t wait. I’m going to shut his mouth up. He’s going to sleep and he’s going to go back to America with his tail between his legs.”
Taylor, 28, who won Commonwealth Games gold at Glasgow 2014, is undefeated in 15 professional fights, including 12 knockouts.
He has scored notable victories against Ohara Davies, Miguel Vazquez, Viktor Postol and most recently Ivan Baranchyk, who he beat in Glasgow in May to take the IBF title.
Saturday’s showdown is also the final of the division’s World Boxing Super Series with the winner set to lift the Muhammad Ali Trophy.
“I’ve dreamed about this since this tournament came about,” Taylor added.
“I’ve visualised winning this and lifting that trophy a million times over in my head. It’s in touching distance now and I’m going to grab it with both hands. I can’t wait.”
Prograis, from New Orleans, has knocked out 20 of his opponents in a 24-0 professional career record.
The 30-year-old, who has spent the last three weeks in England preparing for the fight, insisted there had been no problem making the weight.
“No I wasn’t struggling at all, I’m good,” he said. “A miscalculation I guess, but I’m good. As you can see, everything good. I’m going to beat the s*** out of him tomorrow.”
The two fighters were involved in an animated verbal exchange for the cameras after the weigh-in and Prograis added: “We were cursing and we were swearing.
“I’m saying I’m going to stop him, he’s saying he’s going to stop me. It’s going to be a bloody fight.
“I’m sure it’s going to be a bloody fight. Somebody’s going to have to throw the towel in because I’m going to stop him, guaranteed.”
Prograis told the PA news agency: “I guarantee it’s not a 50-50. I’m going to show people, I’m really going to prove how I good I really am.
“But he’s a real good fighter and he’s a real good champion, I respect him 100 per cent.
“For me, throughout my whole career I always had a chip on my shoulder because of stuff like this – people saying it’s a 50-50 fight – and I’m going to prove to people it’s not.”
