Re: I’m picking Crawford against Spence
Shame it wont happen unless Spence leaves Al or Crawford leaves Bob.
Hopefully, one day, it does happen. So far, Crawford hasn't fought anyone near Spence level, arguably his best wins are Gamboa and Khan, whereas Spence will have victories over Garcia, Brook and Porter (seeing as everyone has written Porter off). Crawford is superb, he just lacks the acid test, like dudes like Calzaghe and Hopkins suffered from back in the day.
Re: I’m picking Crawford against Spence
I can't see it happening anytime soon either. Too much on the line for either promoter to make the fight and one of the boxers may quietly not fancy it either.
As for who wins if Spence can't stop Garcia he's not stopping Crawford. And I can't see Crawford being outboxed. Crawford UD for me.

At first I thought “Spence is too big” but Crawford is the best fighter in the world and has been at 147 for over a year. Size can’t be an excuse anymore. Crawford is a WW and if he’s the best fighter in the world then he has to be the best fighter in his division.
If Crawford loses he drops P4P as well, no double standards.
Glad you finally came to your senses.
Re: I’m picking Crawford against Spence
I think Crawford will win. How long does it take for weight to start becoming a Spence issue?
Re: I’m picking Crawford against Spence
Anyone ready to get on this train after tonight?

I am. Think Porter makes Bud look just as bad, but I was surprised by how much Shawn’s lateral movement bothered Spence. It will be a good fight, but now I’m leaning towards Crawford. Unfortunately, I’m not confident the fight gets made.

I think Porter makes Bud look worse than Spence looked. Bud is the cerebral type of fighter who methodically breaks you down. But he's never been in the ring with a head-first buzz-saw like Porter. I think all the swarming and mauling from Porter would bother Crawford big time. At least Spence decided to mix it up with Porter on the inside and punished the body (and below). He was trying to knock Porter out. Crawford I don't know would be able to switch gears like that. I'd have to see it. Between Spence and Crawford it remains a tossup for me. Tonight does nothing to change my opinion.
Re: I’m picking Crawford against Spence
Instead of Spence-Crawford it showed how far behind Crawford is from facing top welterweight competition. We don't know how he'd deal with Porter let alone Spence. It's the boring old cliche - styles make fights. However, Porter's bulldozing is a handful for everyone, no way Crawford is as strong as Spence or a dude like Brook.
Re: I’m picking Crawford against Spence
Styles indeed make fights. That’s why I got my pick in before Spence/Porter because I knew some shine would come off Spence tonight in some people’s eyes. But he’s the same guy to me so I wanted my opinion out there before.
Arum needs to be realistic about the money 110,000 PPV buys for Bud doesn’t bring 50/50, get it done.

That's if Spence even fights again and even if he does it'll be a case of

I'd take Crawford over Spence, but Crawford is wasting on the vine against average comp.

I will give him this mandatory in December, but that’s it. He has to demand a fight against one of the top fighters after this or else I won’t cut him anymore slack. It’s time.

Pretty sure we saw his mandatory get boxed a bit and lucky to salvage a draw v Robinson. Honestly think Crawford can dictate this one from his hotel room come fight night.

How would you know he means it if he does demand a big fight? He might be quite happy for Arum to not make one and just keep getting easy paydays. When is his contract up? Didn't he recently sign an extension with Top Rank knowing all the top welters are mainly with Haymon?

Generally it gets out who refused to sign a contract. We will hear that TR sent a contract to X welterweight and that X’s Team refused to sign.
