What kind of watch do you wear
I just ordered a seiko today. Automatic, meaning no battery no winding. It was for sale for 70 bucks on amazon couldn’t resist. The dial is unique it’s marked from 5to55 instead of the usually 1to12. A lot more work goes into automatics and I’m always impressed seikos can put out 50 dollar automatics. Yes I have expensive watches but I have plenty of cheap ones I love. I have a Vostok which was made in Russia during the Soviet Union the my Omega, Rolex, Movado, Bulova and several from the 30’s and 40’s. I’m putting together a 1940 Benrus fight now but I need to hand make some parts as they can’t be found unless I find one someone is tossing. Watches keep us grounded into the old school. X I know you have some incredible watches I figure you could donate me a couple, I’m going in for surgery that will leave me out of commission for 3 months or I can buy one or two of your lesser ones. Do you have a speed master for me.

You SOB someone was selling one of those on a local site for 250. Could have got him down to 200. I wish I had. I have one Rado. It’s from the 70’s really like it. Rados are so ugly they are cool. Do you get that Rado serviced @Dark Lord Al how are the Mercedes watches? Do you Dive with it? What’s it rated for? I know nothing about Mercedes beanz watches

Re: What kind of watch do you wear
By the way I was browsing amazon last night and saw a few more automatic seikos at 40 bucks. New as well. Seiko does have a few 2-4 thousand dollar watches they are supposed to be phenomenal and give Rolex a run for the money but Rolex is so stupid now with prices and weight lists they make absolutely no sense.

Re: What kind of watch do you wear
A Sekonda. Cost £20 has lasted me years. Stainless Steel? Pot Metal? It is silver in colour and metal. Glow in the dark hands and number markers which is useful at times and the battery lasts about two years usually.
I have no idea about Mercedes Beanz either ;D Had a look at a MERC last year but crap boot space not big enough for a wheelchair so probably going to get another used Mazda next year, or possibly a Beamer because the boot space is mahoosive and the grandskids love the idea of a 7 seater.

I do like watches. It's weird, I don't really care about clothes, shoes or any such normal collectibles .... but I will always stop and look at watches in a shop window.
Actually, I only have one nice watch, which is this one .....

A watch with a speedo? Do you wear that when diving in your speedos? ;D
That looks amazing but a bit confusing when you just want to tell the time. My head hurts just trying to work out what all the dials mean.

So you have a good lume on that watch nice. You can always find a decent watch without spending big bucks. That’s why I was bringing up the seikos

Re: What kind of watch do you wear
I have a Sekonda which is 22 years old not changed the strap once and battery changes every 3 years.
I bought an expensive one and have to wear it on special occasions but not expensive that I have to insure it.

Re: What kind of watch do you wear
Seiko kinetic which is still going strong and a Swiss Army Victoinox

Re: What kind of watch do you wear
I need to look into a sekunda never heard of them. Today I’m wearing my Soviet Vostok again. It’s a 45mm watch so it’s a bit too big but it really grew on me. I have a second one I picked up for five bucks as these things are like AK-47 very easy to fix if you have the parts

I would not mind a kinetic watch saves on getting a battery?

Master look at seiko 5 or any seiko automatic. Automatic watches are where it’s at. Powered by the movement of your hand. Seiko makes some beautiful ones for thousands but you can get a seiko 5 for 40-100 dollars. Automatic watches are true workmanship. Nothing wrong with quartz, kinectic, solar etc but you should have at least one solid automatic. Since we are going in the cheaper realm the power reserve will probably be 24-48 hours meaning power will run out and you will need to reset it if you haven’t worn it in that long. The top automatics have power reserves in weeks. I think hubolt makes an automatic that will run for three weeks after you take it off which is quite amazing craftsmanship. I think my longest power reserved is 50 or so hours but I’m into vintage watches.

Re: What kind of watch do you wear
I dont routinely wear a watch but I have two. A relatively expensive Michael Kors and a cheap as chips Ben Sherman. I prefer the Ben Sherman hands down ;D No seriously, I do prefer the Ben Sherman.
No idea what models they are. Both gifts.

😃 The 2 outside bezels around the face are essentially a slide rule, so it was really a watch with a calculator on it before digital watches or phones came out.
Breitling are marketed as pilots watches, which is just a load of bollocks really. Nice looking watch, heavy and well made, so I just always wanted one.
Still can't fly a fucking plane though

Re: What kind of watch do you wear
https://i.imgur.com/CsTpOsj.jpg It's an odd thing. I haven't owned a wrist watch in about 10 years but I'm good at always 'guessing' what time it is give or take 5-10 minutes.
-
Re: What kind of watch do you wear
I had a Police watch until last week and I fucking loved it, no nonsense just a standard good looking watch, then it died for no apparent reason after about 5 years.
I decided to change it up a bit and got myself a smart watch (samsung gear S3 frontier)
Takes a bit of getting used to but it is great for checking messages and notifications whilst at work, there are loads of fitness things that you can do with it as well that I haven't really looked into yet, set it up yesterday so that I can pay for stuff on it as well, no more digging into my wallet to get my card out for me.
All in all it is a pretty nifty gadget and once I get a leather strap it'll look and feel loads better as well.
